Ok why are the minor children counted? Are they considered 'working' royals?

I believe Bertie counts every royal who gets a mention in the CC. Louise and James got mentions, therefore they get counted.

They were in the CC and so I counted those engagements.

I think it goes with why people think she hasn't been given the family Order. They want her to go above and beyond to prove something to them.

I think the Duchess of Cambridge has done a magnificent job since joining the royal family and she's upping her game too. She's also being handed down some responsibility with time.
Ha, the days of working for the family business isn't real work. The media ain't s***

I hope people find this sort of analysis useful or interesting but I must point out that 'type of engagements' isn't the same as 'number of engagements'.

This is because there are times where a royal will do a number of things at the same place and I put everything they did under 'type' but count it only once as an engagement e.g. on the 1st December

Her Majesty, Patron, later visited Goodenough College, Mecklenburgh Square, London WC1, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr. Kenneth Olisa), the President of the Advisory Council (Professor Renι Weis), Mr. Eric Tracey (Chairman of the Board) and Councillor Nadia Shah (Mayor of the London Borough of Camden). The Queen toured the College, escorted by Major General Andrew Ritchie (Director) before attending a Reception with members of the College, Governors, Fellows, alumni and staff.

This was one engagement for HM but three entries in the 'types of engagements' - a visit, a toured and a reception.

I disagree. Working for the "firm" of the BRF is perhaps even more demanding than clocking into a ordinary 9 to 5 job. There is no pay. There are no sick days (unless something drastically dire occurs) and each and every move is under the microscope and dissected and discussed and devoured by people you don't even know.

That's right and it will increase even more. Everybody wanted them to step up and they have. Especially with The Queen and Prince Philip handing down some of their patronages. Some of their military appointments should be coming next too.

Thank you so much, Iluvbertie, for the precise breakdown of all the royal engagements. I really find it interesting to see what kind of engagements they do. I found it quite interesting that James and Louise were also in there even if just a few engagements. If this was to be made public and they were able to be aware of it, I think it would please them to know they've supported their Grandmother.

I find the 'types of engagements' fascinating as it shows an incredible range of activities and interests across the family and ways they connect with the people.

I put a whole lot in 'other events' thinking that there would be about 20 or 30 and ended up with over 300 so I will change the way I do that next year.

This number differ a lot from the one's submitted by O'Donovan earlier this week. Some people are missing about 20 engagement in O'Donovan table!
But at least you offer elaborate explanation how you count it
Thank you so much for your hard work.
