For the first time ever, I am now satisfied that the Cambridges are doing enough work for the Firm.

Weekly update to 2nd October, 2014.

I must give a HUGE thank you to those people who have helped with the CC over the recent weeks as the monarchy website has been so inconsistent but… the thing I have found interesting is that the 30th September information is a repeat of the 29th September so in reality either the CC put up the 30th September on the 29th or they put the same information in the papers on consecutive days. Either way I haven’t the information for the 30th September and I simply don’t believe that Anne had a day with no engagements while on an overseas trip. With that caveat these are as up to date as I can have them.

Weekly update to 16th October, 2014

Most were out and about this week although Charles has only done one engagement in the last two weeks and that was on the 16th October. I had seen elsewhere questions being asked about his absence from the CC so I do hope that he has been ok and simply didn’t have anything to do publicly rather than that he was under the weather and we weren’t told.

Where was Charles that week? His numbers seem unlike him.

I read on some 'blog' or something like that there were concerns about his health as he hadn't been seen between the Duchess of Devonshire's funeral but he did undertake a duty on Thursday so hopefully he will be back to his best this coming week as he and Camilla are due to undertake their tour to central America as well as the State Visit from Singapore.

We all get sick from time to time.

That we do. Hopefully it's just he's been a bit under the weather and not anything more serious.

If he was cancelling events due to illness, would we have heard about it?

Do you think he has Ebola??? :p

Naughty, naughty.

If he had had to cancel public engagements it would have been announced and he had nothing listed in the FE for October. I checked at the beginning of October for many royals and neither he nor Camilla had anything listed for the rest of the year but that is the FE section of the British monarchy website and the PoW's site - they don't list Charles and Camilla's engagements that far in advance.

I just found it strange that for nearly two weeks, when he is normally quite busy, Charles had no engagements at all.

Perhaps he is spending the fortnight going through the royal vaults to identify jewels for Camilla and Catherine to use.

Camilla just did a engagement the other day. Maybe Charles was doing his babysitting course refresher and now is showing George the wonders of Highgrove.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It's odd that he had no engagements scheduled, and it seems like we would know if he had canceled any public engagements - which to me suggests that he didn't have anything scheduled. This gives cause for concern, in my opinion.

I'm not overly worried just yet. He possibly could be taking some time to do internal things that need to be done with the various interests he has. Its nearing the end of the year and the holiday breaks aren't that far off in the future.

That is the issue for me - they have just had their August holidays and September/October/November are three of the busier months with overseas tours and lots of local engagements.

Weekly update to 23rd October, 2014

Sorry for the delay this week but the school work was mounting up and simply had to be done. The State Visit doesn’t add a lot of engagements as I really only count it as ‘State Visit’ for The Queen and those on the receiving party with the Banquet, Welcome and Andrew’s role on the 2nd day as counting for additional engagements.

ILuvBertie-You don't need to apologize to me as a fellow educator I do understand that the papers don't grade themselves.

Andrew has done so much less than Edward, how has that happened? I know Edward does a lot of work for the Doe, as does Sophie, but to be almost 100 less than Edward is surprising.

HM The Queen - 381 (373 – up 4)
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh - 241 (235 – up 6)
HRH The Prince of Wales - 405 (397 – up 8)
HRH The Duchess of Cornwall - 175 (174 – up 1)
HRH The Duke of Cambridge - 120 (119 – up 1)
HRH The Duchess of Cambridge – 81 (78 – up 3)
HRH Prince Henry of Wales - 79 (77 – up 2)
HRH The Duke of York – 275 (265 – up 10)
HRH Princess Beatrice of York - 3 (3 – no change)
HRH Princess Eugenie of York - 2 (2 – no change)
HRH The Earl of Wessex - 348 (343 – up 5)
HRH The Countess of Wessex - 284 (274 – up 10)
HRH The Princess Royal - 412 (401 – up 2)* I made a typo last week and had Anne on 410 instead of 401 – now correct
Vice-Admiral Tim Laurence - 51 (50 – up 1)
HRH The Duke of Gloucester - 204 (200 – up 4)
HRH The Duchess of Gloucester - 120 (117 – up 3)
HRH The Duke of Kent – 148 (141 – up 7)
HRH The Duchess of Kent - 0 (0 - no change)
HRH Prince Michael of Kent – 6 (6 – no change)
HRH Princess Michael of Kent - 6 (5 – up 1)
HRH Princess Alexandra - 67 (63 – up 4)

You've got a typo in Anne again. It should read "412 (410 - up 2)".

Andrew has done so much less than Edward, how has that happened? I know Edward does a lot of work for the Doe, as does Sophie, but to be almost 100 less than Edward is surprising.

2 reasons come to mind:

1. Andrew is no longer 'Special Ambassador for Trade and Investment' meaning that a lot of the duties he was performing are no longer there for him and he is yet to find things to replace them

2. Edward held a position of Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland this year that saw both he and Sophie add a number of engagements that aren't normally in their calendars (he is the last of The Queen's children to hold that position and they hold it for a period of two years). During the week of the meetings this year Edward carried out 34 engagements - all linked to his position as Lord High Commissioner. Sophie accompanied him on many of those duties. The year that Andrew held that position he carried out 38 engagements during the week (not including about half a dozen he did in some other position such as Patron of xxx).

Combined these would account for a large part of the difference.

Weekly update to 30th October, 2014

Seems that the end of the year has caught up with me earlier than I expected. I blame HSC marking, especially as I was a very late call-up this year. Normally I know about this a couple of months in advance but this year it was literally only 2 hours. Next year won’t be a problem as I have decided that after 22 years it is time to say ‘no more’.

Anyway back to the royals….

That will be done next year and if I am able to do so I will work out the actual figures dating from his birthday when I am on school holidays in December.

Weekly update to 6th November 2014

Now that the heaviest part of my working year has ended service will resume as normal – with a three week update over the next 12 hours or so (assuming that the CC is up to date).

I must once again remind people that this year wouldn’t have been possible without Cepe who has been able to fill in the missing details. So far this year there have been around 60 days or 2 months where The Times have had events listed in the CC that haven’t appeared on the British Monarchy website. Cepe has been able to fill in those dates. I have the dates listed and will post them at the end of the year.
