I wonder whose birthday is being celebrated? The Queen looks in excellent spirits if a little more bowed than usual. The DM keeps calling her gorgeous wrap black. It looks like a charcoal or deep grey to me.

One thing that hit me square between the eyes is that looking at the photos of the Queen and looking at her face, its very hard pressed to believe that this is a woman that is 91 years old. She could easily pass for years younger.

I love that wrap she was wearing. It looks like a charcoal or dark gray to me too. But then again, I noticed the trim on her umbrella was black so maybe it was just the lighting. We all know how closely she coordinates those umbrellas.

I disagree that she doesn't look 91. To me she looks older than that. I have a few friends who are in their late 90s and she easily could pass for them - particularly with the bags under the eyes and the stoop. She has certainly aged in the last six months or so.

So THAT’S what’s in her handbag! The Queen clutches a purse emblazoned with her friend Archduchess Helen of Austria as she leaves her 80th birthday party at The Ivy

Monarch, 91, displayed purse as she left London restaurant last night
Item personalised with photo of Archduchess Helen of Austria

Bespoke coin purses were given to departing guests as gifts

How lovely to see both men attend. Tim seems to be quite a nice guy and does quite a bit for charities and organisations.

Prince Philip visits Hillsborough to meet award recipients - BBC News

The DoE was in Northern Ireland today - the local media are calling this 'his last visit to NI', but he seemed to be in top form, as usual!

Well, it probabli IS his last official visit to the area. I mean, he's retireing, so it's not really a comment on his health.

The Queen could be staying at Craigowan Lodge as she does before the Castle opens to the public in the summer. I was watching a video of her visit to the Duchy of Lancaster the other day and it picked up part of a conversation she was having in which she said "yes we are staying for the bank holiday" or something to that effect.
