Tomorrow King Tuanku Abdul Halim will be departing for the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj (pilgrimage). The Keeper of the Rulers' Seal has announced that Muslims in Malaysia will be celebrating Eid El-Adha on 26 October 2012.

The King and Queen as well as other members of the Royal Family attended a special prayer at Istana Negara ahead of the departure to the Holy Land.

His Majesty also consented to receive key of ambulance that will be used for Malaysian pilgrims in the Holy Land.

This morning King Tuanku Abdul Halim and Queen Tuanku Hajah Haminah have departed for the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj (pilgrimage). Their Majesties received Prime Minister and his wife at Istana Negara before the departure.

In this pilgrimage, Their Majesties are accompanied by Tunku Panglima Besar of Kedah Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz, Tunku Temenggong Tunku Sallehuddin and Tunku Puan Temenggong Tengku Maliha. Departure through Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

King, Queen leave for Haj pilgrimage - Nation | The Star Online
 
King Tuanku Abdul Halim and Queen Tuanku Hajah Haminah have arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia on Friday 19 October 2012 yesterday. Their Majesties were welcomed by the Governor of Madinah Prince Abdul Aziz.

The King and Queen visited the tomb of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him. Today they will begin performing Umrah before meeting Malaysian pilgrims on Monday. Their Majesties will join other pilgrims to assemble in Arafah this Thursday to begin the pilgrimage.

The King and Queen Al-Mu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbudin Tuanku Al-Haj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Tuanku Hajah Haminah returned from pilgrimage in the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday 31 October 2012. Their Majesties touched down at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in Kedah at 8.55pm Malaysian time.

Their Majesties were welcomed on arrival by the Chairman of Kedah Regency Council Tunku Bendahara Tunku Annuar Al-Haj and Toh Puan Bendahara Noor Suzana.

King Tuanku Abdul Halim welcomed Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan to the 230th meeting of the Conference of Rulers that started at 10.00am Malaysian time this morning. The meeting, which is held at Istana Negara, is chaired by the Sultan of Kelantan.

The second day of the 230th meeting of the Conference of Rulers ended at Istana Negara today. The Rulers who attended the meeting are:-

1. King Tuanku Abdul Halim, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong
2. Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan (Chairman for this edition)
3. Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin
4. Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu
5. Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor
6. Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz

Representatives of another four Rulers were present:-

1. Tunku Bendahara Tunku Annuar Al-Haj (Chairman of Kedah Regency Council)

The meeting has decided to award special gold medals to two Malaysian athletes Dato' Lee Chong Wei and Pandalela Rinong who have successfully won Olympic medals for the country recently.
