The Royal Wedding of Raja Muda of Perak

The 3 day festivity of the Royal Wedding of Raja Muda of Perak Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah to Raja Puan Besar Tuanku Zara Salim was finally over last night with a glittering wedding reception and the splendid fireworks display. Sultan of Selangor and the Sultan and Sultanah of Kedah were among the guests of the reception.

Kindly visit this site to watch the video of the Conferment of the Royal Order of Darjah Kerabat Sultan Azlan Shah (the exclusive order for Perak Royal Family ) to the newly wed Zara Davidson making her the Consort to the Crown Prince Raja Muda Dr. Nazrin Shah.

Thus she is now styled Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Puan Besar Perak Darul Ridzuan Tuanku Zara Salim:

Well, these are rare pictures of the visit, thank you banda_windsor.

Would love to see if you have picture/s from the State Banquet.
If not could you describe how's the banquet as you saw on Indonesian tv. What did they wear? The speech etc.

I'd love to show you the banquet pic. But unfortunately i don't have any. It's hard to find the picture of what happen inside the Presidential Palace. The few things that i can tell you for sure are, both King and the President wear a formal suit, not tuxedo and no order and decorations.

The First lady perhaps wear a national dress with traditional Batik. and the Queen probably wear the Kebaya labuh, and doesn't wear tiara.

Thanks for the answer. I thought the dresses are more or less like that. Because here also we have never seen yet a State Banquet held by Sultan Mizan honouring any visiting head of state. Last few weeks, I read on newspaper that President of Benin was about to visit Malaysia (first time for Sultan Mizan) but he cancelled the visit otherwise we would have seen the first visit

The Royal Wedding

Thank you for this link. It looks like a beautiful wedding. Its a pity the pictures are so small, I was hoping we'd get to see some more stunning Malaysian royal jewels.
Do the bride and groom always wear yellow?

From what i heard, the President of Indonesia and the First Lady will pay a visit to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XIII and the Queen soon. Perhaps it'll be sometimes in June or July. I'll let you know if i get more info. by the way, can you please post a picture of every current monarch of Malaysian states. It's quiet hard to find. Thanks before.

Aren't they already in Malaysia? (Or already gone)

Yes, small pictures are common if you read Malaysian media. Yellow is certainly the colour of Royalty for Malays. They don't have to wear yellow everytime but as to denote that this is a Royal Wedding steeped with Malay Royal tradition, yellow is the best colour during the Istiadat Persandingan (Sit side by side Ceremony).

But I hope you enjoy the video, they're just remarkable especially I like the arrival part where everyone was curtseying when the Sultans pass by.

They aren't. It'll be sometime soon.

I believe by now the National Palace is busy preparing for the first official birthday of the King which will be held next week 2 June 2007. Birthday greetings and the Royal photos are everywhere again in the capital now.

Really? Yes! What a news. Thank you:flowers: . Glad that the first visit would be from the neighbouring ASEAN country. All Indonesian Presidents and Malaysian Kings have exchanged visits in the past whether it's State or official. I remember when I paid respect to the deceased Yang diPertuan Agong Sultan Salahuddin when Almarhum was lie in state at Istana Negara, by coincident President Megawati was right in front me, she had just finished paying respect. I had to make way for her to approach the then Queen Siti Aishah. I can see them hugging and the President comforting the Queen.

I'm afraid that posting pictures which are not ours is not permissible by the administrator of this forum. All their pictures are available in google images, simply type their name.

If you browse through this site, on your left hand scroll down click at Royal Links Yang di-Pertuan Agong
3 of the 9 states have official websites.

Thank you Ephram. I heard it from the local news when Yang di-Pertuan Agong visit Indonesia.

By the way, does the king recieve the Indonesian Star of Adipurna or not? Because i'm not sure. But i know that the Prime Minister Badawi is already receive the star just sometimes before the King visit. Both King Sirajudin and King Salahuddin also recieve the star.

I'm not sure about this, but if he received I'm sure the media would have made it known to us.

Images to which you don't hold the copyright or don't have the written permission of the copyright owner cannot be posted directly to the Forums. However, url links to pictures in websites, or links to pictures in image-hosting accounts such as Photobucket, Imageshack etc are perfectly acceptable.

The Indonesian President and the First Lady was already in Malaysia since May 27th. But i don't know why, they don't have any schedule to meet the Yang Dipertuan Agong and the Permaisuri Agong.

Yes, yesterday I saw the pictures of their departure from Kuala Lumpur. They already returned to Jakarta. The caption says it was only an official visit not a State Visit:ermm: . That's why no State Welcoming Ceremony and audience with Their Majesties. But probably in the near future, hopefully.

That's so unfortunate. I hope the president will return to Malaysia soon for the state visit.

By the way Ephram, on the Yang Dipertuan Agong coronation banquet, when Queen Saleha arrived in the national palace, the Permaisuri Agong is curtseying and kiss her hand. Is that appropriate? Does the other Malaysian state Queens do the same thing?

I was so surprised as well when I saw Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong curtseyed to Queen Saleha. Their position is at par. Though this is quite strange, she did that probably out of respect since she is much younger than the Queen of Brunei.

As far as I saw on tv and newspapers I never saw other Malaysian state Queens did that among each other or to the Queen of Brunei considering that they all are in equal position.

Official Birthday of Yang DiPertuan Agong 2 June 2007

Images I snapped from the official portraits of Their Majesties Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin and Queen Nur Zahirah.

This year the Official Birthday of the Yang DiPertuan Agong falls on 2 June 2007. Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin will celebrate his first official birthday as King of Malaysia on this Saturday.

Among the important events on Saturday:

1. Trooping the Colour at Independence Square, Kuala Lumpur at 8am.

2. Investiture Ceremony at National Palace 11am.

3. Garden Tea Party at the ground of National Palace 4.30pm onwards.

I believe by today prominent chefs from hotels around Kuala Lumpur will be presenting birthday cakes to Their Majesties at the National Palace.

Ephram,it is incorrect to refer to the wife of a Sultan as a Queen,as the title of 'King' is unknown in the Malayan states themselves,as well as in Brunei.

Do we hear much at all about the various Sultanas? The most famous Sultana of a Malayan state that I am aware of was a Scotswoman who married the grandfather of the current ruling Sultan of Johore. She is depiected on a series of Johorean stamps.

Aidan.

Of course Aidan, in Malay Language the title is certainly not Queen. I was just trying to make it very simple to answer the question of banda_windsor. In Malaysia various titles, depending to the states are used to refer to the consort such as Raja Perempuan, Raja Permaisuri, Tuanku Ampuan Besar and Sultanah. In Brunei it's of course Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak....

From time to time, if you keep in touch with Malaysian media, they were reported attending various engagements. But nowadays as far as I can tell you, I think the Sultanah of Johor is the one who is rarely reported, the last time I saw her visiting flood victims in her state a couple of months ago.

That Scotwoman was Lady Marcella Ibrahim who married to Sultan Ibrahim the grandfather of the current Sultan, it was back then in the 50's, 60's. The current Sultan Iskandar was previously married first to a lady from Cornwall, Ms. Josephine Trevrow but later divorced. She is the mother of the current Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ibrahim Ismail, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah the Crown Princess of Pahang and Tunku Kamariah Iskandariah the Tengku Puan Panglima DiRaja of Selangor.
