King Attends 203rd Meeting Of Conference Of Rulers



KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 (Bernama) -- The Yang di- Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail Thursday attended the 203rd meeting of the Conference of Rulers at the Istana Negara, here.

He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The two-day meeting, which began Wednesday was chaired by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Jaafar Tuanku Abdul Rahman, said a statement issued by the Office of the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal.

The meeting discussed matters related to security, religion and the appointment of Federal Court judges and Public Service Commission members, among others, it added.

Several sultans and all the Yang Dipertuas Negeri attended the meeting.

Perak was representated by the Regent, Raja Nazrin Shah Sultan Azlan Shah; Pahang by the Regent, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah; Johor by the Tengku Mahkota, Tengku Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar; Kelantan by the Tengku Mahkota, Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra Sultan Ismail Petra and Kedah by the Tunku Bendahara, Datuk Seri Tunku Annuar Al-Haj Sultan Badlishah.

It was reported by the media here that it was a working visit. If you notice actually many foreign royals were invited every year to represent Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Sandhurst Annual Sovereign Parade. As far as I can remember Sultan of Brunei and King Abdullah of Jordan were once represented Her Majesty in the parade. They were all including King Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin educated in Sandhurst.

Princess graduates with 3,000 others

GOMBAK: The Sultan of Johor’s daughter was among 3,129 students who received their scrolls at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Convocation yesterday.

Oh ya, thanks for highlighting this news. The Princess's name is Tunku Masera Zahira Iskandariah. She graduated with honours degree in Political Science.

She is a very nice and stylish Princess.

Yesterday I attended the Malaysian 48th anniversary of Independence in Putarajaya. His Majesty the King and Queen also attended the celebration.

National Day celebration also took place in every state in the federation of Malaysia. In Perak, Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Muhibbudin Shah and Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Bainon as well as Raja Muda Raja Nazrin Shah attended the celebration. Raja Di-Hilir Perak Perak Raja Jaafar and his consort, Raja Toh Puan Mahani were also in attendance.

Last night, Deputy King Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (Sultan of Terengganu) representing King Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin attended the International Qur'an Recital Competition, which was held at the Dewan Merdeka of the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC). He handed over the prizes to the winners. His consort, Permaisuri Nur Zahirah was also in attendance.

On Thursday 20 October 2005, Wife of Malaysian Prime Minister Datin Paduka Seri Endon Binti Dato' Mahmood Ambak passed away at 7.55am in the official residence of Prime Minister in Putrajaya. TM The King and Queen of Malaysia visited Prime Minister during noon hour to convey their condolences to PM's family. Among other royalties who visited PM were Sultan of Perak and Raja Permaisuri Perak, Sultan of Terengganu and Permaisui Terengganu, Tengku Mahkota Pahang and Tengku Puan Pahang as well as Pengiran Muda Mahkota of Brunei.
