Photos of the Playhouse at Solliden Palace Park. The house/homestead is from 1867 (then called Grönadal) and in 1948 there was made some changes and king Gustaf V gave it as a present to king Carl Gustaf and his sisters. Victoria, Madeleine and Carl Philip played there now and then, and now perhaps Estelle and Leonore are using it.
The playhouse is open for public on two weekends during the summer, in May and now at this weekend. According to Sjöberg Bildbyrå, these photos have been taken this year.

The Cottage Café (Kaffetorpet) at Solliden
Just outside Solliden Palace area is a little cottage dating from 1890. The king bought the cottage, which was then in very poor condition, from the Öland cultural association in 1999 for 1,1 million SEK.
Since then, the small house has been both renovated and expanded, and currently houses a café with seating for 70 guests. Coffee is served in the large, polished copper pots along with waffles and homemade cakes and buns. Most are made in Café's own bakery with the Palace's fine ingredients, such as apples and berries.

I came across this documentary, it's all in German but it's from what I can understand of German, about Oland, the royal family and the island itself a bit. Videos include the Queen speaking in German, Victoria day fairly recently but also some old footage of the royal family in the 1980's at Solliden Slott, Madeleine riding a horse with the king, and the king and the children taking a boat ride to the boathouse and the family down at the boathouse and some footage of the palace.

There is "Öland spirar" -weekend in Solliden on 12-14th May. People are taken to the greenhouse by tractor. Leo Eriksson, the Director of Administration of Solliden, tells and shows people the architecture and sculptures. The old playhouse is open during the weekend.

Expressen's royal commentator Karin Lennmor writes about Solliden at her chronicle.
Lennmor writes that in the summer of 1973, 44 years ago, Silvia visited Solliden for the first time - and she became very fond of it and loves Öland as much as the rest of the family.
- The air is so soft here, she said.
At one point, the Queen told Lennmor that the king is very fond of paintings by artist Roland Svensson. He painted a lot of archipelago motifs, and maybe many of his paintings hang on not only in Drottningholm, but also in Solliden.

Here we can see Solliden Palace, Kavaljershuset (where Carl Philip and Madeleine stay with their families), Victoria and Daniel's house Villa Skönvik, and the boat house.

Video from Solliden. 24Kalmar visited Solliden some days ago. Anna Schibli, the Operational Manager for Tourism at Solliden, told them about the park. Anna tells that the royal family often stays at Solliden ten weeks during the year. Queen Silvia loves the roses and fuchsias, and king Carl Gustaf is more interested about taking care of the park in its entirety. So if they want to make a bigger change at the park, they must always ask from the king.

Solliden Palace published these photos as a slideshow at their Facebook on 24th October
"A cold October day, we are dreaming going back to summer. Red geraniums light up the Palace and the royal family comes down to the Palace staircase, with a whiff from the crowd. In other words, we long for the summer of 2018. Do you?"

Someone has stolen a flower pot from Solliden's Kaffetorpet (Cottage Café)

From Solliden Palace Facebook, 10th November.
"Hello
We are looking for a similar pot as at the photo, we think someone has "accidentally" taken the pot home. We understand that sometimes you can take things with you "by accident", but we would be extremely grateful and happy if we got the pot back. Bring it back gladly outside of Kaffetorpet or inform us that you have "accidentally" taken the pot home with you."
