I suppose more logical is to inherit Victoria. But i don't understad why make her own summer house there?
Because Solliden Palace isn't very big. I have read from Svensk Damtidning that the Palace consists of three floors. The ground floor consists of household premises. The second floor consists of an entrance hall, salon, dining room and a guest room. A staircase leads up from the entrance hall to the third floor, there is a bedroom, salon and one room. In the attic there are some additional smaller rooms. Before Victoria and Daniel didn't have their own house there, they stayed at Kavaljershuset, where Madeleine and her family, Carl Philip and Sofia and the guests of the royal family are now staying in the summer. Kavaljershuset is about 500 square meters and has three floors. According to swedish press, the king and queen are also staying at Kavaljershuset, if they are in Solliden in the winter.
Victoria and Daniel clearly like to spend a lot of time in Solliden and perhaps the Palace is nowadays quite uncomfortable for a family. Maybe they were thinking that the king and queen can spend at least 10-15 years there in the future, so they built their own, new house to be able to enjoy their time in Solliden. The Kavaljershuset will also be quite crowded, if Carl Philip and Sofia will have some children and Madeleine and Chris will have more children.
And because the Palace Park is from 16th May until 15th September open for public from 11.00 to 18.00, the royal family normally isn't according to the press at the Palace at that time, they are at the boat house, or Kavaljershuset. But Victoria, Daniel and Estelle can be at their own summer house.
