www.rexfeatures.com - The caption says this is Zarzuela Palace but it looks nothing like the other pictures of Zarzuela posted here and the ones I'm familar with. Can anyone better tell me which of the Spanish royal palaces this is?

That is the Palacio Real del Pardo. Is where Franco lived and where, nowdays, the foreigh visitors (royals and statesmen) stay :) . The probably confunde both because the Zarzuela and El Pardo stay in the same zone ;)

:flower: Thanks xicamaluca for clearing that up! :flower:

The kings would never move to El Pardo. That was were Franco lived and so, that palace, have many conotations with the dictatory years in Spain ;) .

I never seem pics of greek palaces, so i can't compare :p

Isn't it the palace where Kaiserin Zita of Austria lived shortly after the death of Kaiser Karl?

The Little house of the Prince of El Pardo, created as place of playtime of Carlos IV, shines already in all its brilliance. It has been re-opened for the public after remaining closed eighteen years. This architectural jewel, a neoclassic small palace of ends of the XVIIIth located together close to El Pardo Royal Palace, it was ordered to construct as pavilion of hunt for Carlos III to be used by his son, Carlos IV, Prince of Asturias, and Maria Luisa of Parma.

It is not such a little house.

The Royal Palace of El Pardo was built in the 16th century, during the reign of King Philip II, over the remains of a small castle that King Charles I constructed.

The Palace was the setting for many historical events and has housed many Royal Guests over the centuries.

Alfonso XII died here in 1885
Princess Victoria Eugenia of Battenberg resided here ahead of her Wedding 1906.
The Empress Zita and her children lived here in 1922 from April until August.
The Wedding of Carmel Franco and Don Alfonso de Bourbon
Duke of Cadiz took place at the Palace Chapel in 1972.
General Francisco Franco and his family lived here until February 1976.
