Default Royal Christmas at ZDF History

ZDF History will show a program called "Weihnachten bei Majestäten" ("Christmas with their Majesties) at December 23rd at 23:25-00:10.
ZDF.de - History
They'll show the ways the European Royals celebrate Christmas.

It was quite an interesting docu.

The only strange thing was that they forgot to mention the Danish Royal House...

I never knew Princess Brigitta of Sweden speaks perfectly German.
I loved how she talked about the past when she had to dress as Santa Lucia, because she has tha longest , blond curls.
They showed some really cute pictures of Carl Gustav as a toddler.

I guess ZDF will add the little movie to their mediathek soon.

Intresting, thanks for the info Her_Majesty. Sounds like an intresting programme. When they showed the royals celebrating Christmas, what year did they start showing it from? or was it just the year 2007?

Not surprising as Birgitta's mother was a Saxe-Coburg Princess, and she has been married to a German Prince for 46 years.

Ah, okay. Thanks for explaining Warren! I never knew that (as I don't know anything about CG's sisters ).

They didn't show 2007 pictures, but many pictures from the last years and also from the past .
For example: they showed how KIng Haakon and Queen Maud celebrated Christmas. Or Queen Victoria (UK).
They also showed the Christmas Tradition in old Monarchies like Russia or Germany.

They didn't just focus on the Royals, but also showed many pictures of how Christmas is traditionally celebrated in the different cultures (like Sinterklaas in the Netherlands, or the arrival of the 3 holy Kings in Spain).
