Queen Silvia will receive the Martin Buber -Plakette on 25th November
"In addition to her many charity activities the initiator and President of the 'World Childhood Foundation' strongly and selflessly commits herself to the protection of children living in the streets, to sexually abused girls and boys and to young mothers. Queen Silvia should have got the Scandinavian Human Dignity Award on 15th October.
"Queen Silvia's work to protect children from all forms of abuse and exploitation, to strengthen their human dignity, hope and faith in the future and promote their rights and freedoms, makes her a worthy winner."

The prize is awarded by the organization Scandinavian Human Rights Lawyers, which has links to abortion opposition.
Now the court tells that the Queen will not accept it.
The Queen would not only receive the prize but also to attend a seminar on human trafficking.
Behind the event and the awards ceremony is legal organization Scandinavian Human Rights Lawyers. Two of the three times the price has gone to abortion opponents.
The conference has been sharply criticized, and the Queen's participation has been challenged, for instance by Aftonbladet's Eva Franchell.
On Sunday evening, the court announced via their website that the queen cancells her participation in the seminar and refrains from receiving the prize Scandinavian Human Dignity Award in 2014.
- The Queen will say no to the price, says Margareta Thorgren.
She explains the background to the Queen's decision to refrain from participating in the seminar and receiving the prize are the trafficking issue has been overlooked.
- The Queen has also decided not to participate in the conference.
Even Uppsala University and Uppsala UN association have decided not to participate.
The University will arrange for a new conference in the spring and the queen is positive for it. The Queen endorses Uppsala University decision, says Margareta Thorgren.

I agree on the low light.... but I am not a fan of it, it lacks elegance and reminds me a bit of a Disco ball (and a Disco Queen ).....

Not what I am used from the always elegant Queen. But: Bonus Point for the Courage of wearing something "different"....

Charlotte Brandin, the executive director of World Childhood Foundation has worked for WCF for 12 years and is one of the closest associates to queen Silvia and Madeleine. She resigns from her work on 30th November.
- It's exciting but obviously nervous to take on something new. But I felt it was the right time in life to dare to try and get into a new adventure, she said to Svensk Damtidning.

I don't think Madeleine was there. Each photo she posted Childhood had posted before her.

The organisation praised the 'noble simplicity' of the queen and her 'quiet greatness' . They added that her voice is a gift for those children that are in need.

RTL uitzending gemist? Kijk programma's en series terug op RTL XL!

Previous winners were Michael Gorbatjov and former German president Richard von Weiszacker.

In the interview she says that she knows queen (!) Beatrix very well, and that she likes her dearly, Maxima is great, warm, fun, and WA is a wonderful man.

She joked that with Maxima she speaks 'Portanol', a mix of Spanish and Portuguese, though Silvia also speaks some Spanish.

She alsos aid that getting grandchildren made her even more aware that children need to be protected.

Apparently a reporter of a local tv station was late at the press conference, tried to squeze in his microphone while the queen was speaking, and as a result a glass of water fell over a book that was offered to the queen.
