During their entrance at the Diplomat's Dinner, Daniel looked stiff because he held both arms straight with CP Victoria holding one. In other pictures of gentlemen escorting ladies in formal situations, the man usually bends his arm and the lady either places her hand on top of his hand or arm, or reaches around to hold the inside of his elbow. Maybe Daniel would look and feel more relaxed if he did that next time. Otherwise, they looked really good together and very happy. I thought the parents also looked happy. The Queen's relaxed banter with Daniel during CP Victoria's Name Day ceremony may put to rest any worries about her disapproval of him. I hope that the royal wedding will be shown on TV in the United States, same as CP Felipe and Letizia. Or at least shown on The Royal Forums. Can we hope?

Don't know if it is the right place to post, but there will be a TV documentary today evening about the history of the Bernadotte dynasty.
Here is a link with further information:

Programm - ARTE

just scroll down to "Die Bernadotte-Dynastie- Das Geheimnis der schwedischen Monarchie".

Enjoy it!!!

Sweden's Queen Silvia and Prince Carl Philip opened a photography
exhibition at Waldemarsudde, Stockholm 9 May, 2009. The exhibition,
"Two Princes behind the Lens", features photographs by Prince Carl
Philip and his great-great-great-uncle Prince Eugen.

The pics with the two little kids are so nice - cute children
and nice interaction..

Thank you, iceflower.
To me the kids (who are cute indeed) seem, as if they are meant to "loosen" the image a bit.
That mummy (inspite of not having been listed in the schedule) came once again to watch baby son´s work (and the one of prince Eugen, she is also familiar with) seems a bit...err...weird (in my book at least)

True, true, Lena...
And the 'nice interaction' with the 'cute' children - well, to me the set-up seems a bit staged, and the kids look as if they'd actually rather be anyplace else but there.
Does anyone know if the exhibition also includes new photography by Prince Carl Philip? The flower photo in the back has already been part of another, touring exhibition of the Prince's work for quite some time.

I have a doubt about the Sweden law. It gives full rights of male or female children of the monarch. When a prince marries a common, she becames a princess (eg. Princess Marie of Denmark), and the same will happen to Princess Victoria's husband(which is understandbool since she is a crown princess). I wonder Princess Madeleine husband will be a prince too?

Hey White Princess!

I do not think that the husband of Princess Madeleine will became Prince of Sweden. The husbands of the Kings sisters aren't Princes(the husband of Princess Birgitta is a Prince, but he was it before the wedding) and so it would be logical when the one Madeleine will marry won't be Prince of Sweden. This answer is just speculation and I do not know what the swedish constitution says, but only this is a logical answer I think.

But the sisters of the king married before the reform of 1980, and are excluded from the line of succession; so maybe the husband of Madeleine will be Prince of Sweden...(will we have a Prince Jonas???)

Thank you for the pictures, Iceflower. You always seem to provide the best and most recent pictures!

I love seeing Victoria and King Cark Gustaf together; he can be really proud of his daughter!
Victoria's dress is really pretty, I like its style.
