The airport's runway was Prince Carl Philip and welcomed the couple.
Now they go on to the Royal Palace.
Now, the British royals landed at Arlanda airport. Exactly at 13:27 touched their private jets Swedish ground and shortly thereafter the red carpet was rolled out.
On the runway was none other than Prince Carl Philip and waited to welcome Prince Charles and his Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
Charles wore a dark blue suit and Camilla a light gray coat and a plaid dress underneath.

Smiled at Carl Philip
Prince Charles smiled and took Prince Carl Philip in hand before they went on to an aircraft hangar near the airport.
In the hangar began kingship 'initial activity in Sweden. They were in a position to see a copy of the Swedish fighter plane JAS Gripen.
Camilla had all the time Prince Carl Philip at her side. As they walked around the plane, he told her about the Swedish fighter plane.
Prince Charles took it a step further. He was in a position to sit in the plane's cockpit.
At 14:10 left the royal airport to go on to the Royal Palace where the Queen received them in the guest floor.

Thank you for the pictures, MagMil! :flowers:

Upon arrival in Sweden, Prince Charles and Camilla were greeted by a delegation led by Prince Carl Philip.
Their first engagement was at Arlanda Airport. Prince Charles inspected fighter jets, including Gripen fighter jet.
Not content with mere superficial inspection, Charles actually got into one - and appeared to have the time of his life: the broad grin says it all. :D
He did have some difficulty getting out of the jet though and at one point the Duchess even offered a helping hand.

This visit promises to be as pleasant and relaxed one as the visit to Norway. :)

Charles can't seem to help himself when it comes to trains, planes, boats. You know what they say about boys and their toys.

Queen Silvia looks so beautiful :) Just lovely :heartflower:

Here, Silvia received Prince Charles and Camilla.
The British royals will be staying at the palace - and the Queen have been looking forward to visit a long time.

- We are very close and I and the king is pleased us very much, says Silvia.
Today at lunch landed Prince Charles and his wife Camilla in Sweden.
The visit, part of a trip to the Scandinavian countries, takes place on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II took the British throne.
At the airport the couple were received by Prince Carl Philip - and at the airport, they looked even on a Jas Gripen fighter planes and got an introduction to the Swedish mission in Libya.
After it went royalties to the Royal Palace, where they were welcomed by Silvia.
Aftonbladet was talking to the queen for Prince Charles and Camilla's arrival in Sweden. Silvia said she has been looking forward to visit a long time.
- It is very nice because Prince Charles unfortunately not had the opportunity to come here earlier in my time. Although he of course has been to Sweden before. But we have a very close contact with the English royal family, so we are very happy their visit.

How are you near?
- The king's grandmother Margaret was Queen Victoria's grandson. So now we've made a small exhibition of Margaret's letters and books. And there are many links with the English royal family, even the king's mother's side. There are many who do not think about it, but we are very close.
In the afternoon continue the British royal to visit Fryshuset, together with, among others, Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.
And in the evening is a reception at the British Ambassador's residence.
On Friday visit Silvia and Camilla an international school in Djursholm and a kindergarten in Stockholm, while the King and Prince Charles will travel to Stockholm Resilience Centre at the University.
After lunch at the palace and then goes all on to look at the St. Erik area.
- The program in Sweden reflects Prince Charles's great interest in sustainable development, integration and climate, says Paul Johnston, Britain's ambassador in Stockholm.
This is Prince Charles's first official visit to Sweden. He and Camilla will stay at the castle and on Friday evening they are invited into a private dinner at Drottningholm.
According to Silvia may come to a meeting with Estelle.

Will Estelle to meet with Prince Charles?

- Yes, we'll probably be able to organize, said Silvia and laughed when Aftonbladet met her on Wednesday.
If you want to see the British royals during their visit to Sweden is the best opportunity outside the Vasa Museum, at eleven o'clock on Saturday morning.
After that they go to the Saltå mill in Järna along with the royal couple. Then fly Prince Charles and Camilla from Skavsta on towards Copenhagen.

Thanks for the video, fairy tale! :flowers:
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were received by Queen Silvia. They posed for an official photograph, along with Prince Carl Philip.

Both ladies look really great today! :)

That's so cute! Wonder whether Crown Princess Victoria will interrupt her maternity leave during TRH's visit; I'd love to see her again.

Nice pics! Can't believe it's been so long since they've visited Sweden!

What is Prince Charles height? Carl Philip seems to be as tall as Charles.

Thanks for the translation! I didn't realize they were so close to the British royals. Never would have thought that.

After meeting the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla visited Fryshuset Youth Centre. While there, Prince Charles played basketball! I have to say, playing basketball (or any other game) in smart suit is not the best idea, but Prince Charles looks rather nice. He certainly concentrated hard on scoring! :D
Mind you, that's not the first time Charles played basketball in a suit; he did the same at Harlem Children's Zone in New York in 2007 - and scored too! ;)

Looks like its shaping up to be as fun and relaxed as norway was :) Are there any videos of them yet? Haakon and Mette marit gave them such a warm welcome in oslo, would love to see better how they go along with prince carl philip in stockholm?

Does anyone know where the King of Sweden is? Is it usual for the Queen to receive visitors on her own?

I read somewhere that the King is attending a engagement with some scientific organisation that has been arranged for sometime, hence his absence at the welcoming, he'll be joining them later today though and your right i don't think its usual for the Queen to welcome guests like the P of W alone.

If you read the royal calendar, you will find out that the king attended at environment seminar, "The King's environmental professors" in Royal Palace today. A video of his speech there at the thread of the king´s and queen´s events.

Thanks for the photos!
It was nice to see Prince Carl Philip appearing alongside his mother.

Carl Philip was welcoming the guests because Victoria is on a maternity leave.

Love Camilla's courtesy to Queen Silvia, such respect.

:previous:
Indeed. Very appropriate and respectful.
I also liked the fact they chose informal greeting before turning to obligatory formal one. Charles was quite a gentleman, kissing Her Majesty's hand. :)

No Dinner this evening? Only the concert on friday in Drottningholm teater?

The prince of Wales and the duchess of Cornwall attend tonight to the reception for the British community hosted by the British ambassador to Sweden and his wife at their residence.
From the blog of Paul Johnston, The British Ambassador to Sweden
Some day my prince will come… - The Diplomatic Dispatch - Blogs - The Local

The king and the queen will host tomorrow an official lunch and a private dinner in the evening after the visit to the Drottningholm Theatre.

:previous:I hope Charles made his exit easier from the cockpit than he did his entry...ouch!

I think I read somewhere that Charles suffers from back pain. I could be mistaken, anyone know for sure? If so, I don't blame him for grimacing when getting in and out of the jet. My father suffers from chronic back pain which is untreatable (good old 'wear and tear') and he struggles to get in and out of his car, let alone a fighter jet.
