Madeline does look like she is about to be called out at school for passing notes. It could be sharing a throat lozenge or "look at my new ring" as well.

I noticed that the Queen looked a bit sick. She didn't look like she was feeling good at all. Like she had a cold or something. Most likely Madeleine passed her a painkiller. In one of the pictures it looked like she ate it and she had a glass of water while the ceremony was going on, so that led me to believe that she passed her a Tylenol or something like that:)

My guess is also that Queen Silvia was a bit sick, because she was coughing a lot in the beginning of the ceremony and wiping her nose a little later.

As Madeleine's engagement ring is on her left hand in her lap, it's not about the ring, but maybe a lozenge, as this photo of the queen is next: Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony - Stockholm - Pictures - Zimbio

I don't think queen Silvia was crying, but it looks as if she has a cold or something and it's quite common that the eyes start watering now and then because of it.

If Daniel would have been in the front row he wouldn't have been seated beside Victoria, but beside the queen. As for the seating in 2001, it was probably due to logistics as otherwise Carl Philip would have been seated alone in the back row, if they didn't want to move either Victoria or Lilian away from their customary seats in the front row to be seated beside Carl Philip.

But why has the consort of the Crown Princess to seat in the back row when the aunt of King was always placed in the front row?

For as long as princess Lilian attended the Nobel award ceremonies, from 1976 Forhåndsvisning | Scanpix and forward until 2006, Photo Gallery - The Nobel Prize Award Ceremony 2006 , she was seated in the front row. One reason for that was that there were only four members of the royal family who could be seated at the podium until 1995 when princess Victoria attended for the first time. When prince Daniel joined the royal family in 2010 there were six members of the family who could be seated on the podium, if all was to attend. There was no reason to move Lilian to the back row while she was attending the award ceremony, especially as Carl Philip didn't attend the ceremony until Madeleine began attending it.
It will be interesting to see how the seating arrangements will be next year when there will be seven with Chris (if he is to attend), it's possible that he and Madeleine will be seated in the front row the same way as princess Christina and her husband are now, and that the same will happen when Carl Philip marries, that he and his wife will be seated in the front row, and that only the king, queen, Victoria and Daniel will be on the podium.

I don't think it's Marianne Bernadotte on the photos of the royals leaving the Nobel festivities, neither the dress nor the hairdo looks like her: http://tinyurl.com/cqswhrf The woman could be a lady-in-waiting or another guest leaving at the same time as the royal family.

Maybe it is the First Lady of the Court, Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke, who is head of The Queen's Household and is The Queen's closest member of staff.

I think it's truly Marianne Bernadotte

Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke I think was wearing a beige dress. In the ceremony she was sitting right, two-three chairs behind Princess Christina

Of course it was right to seat Princess Lilian in the front row. But the husband of the Crown Princess is protocol wise more higher then she was so it should be clear that he is also seated in the front row. What would be the Problem if Prince Carl Philip was to seat alone in the back.
As for next year i don't think that chris if he should be attend seat on stage. Perhaps it would be the best to have only the King, Queen, Crown Princess and Prince Daniel on stage and seat Princess Madeleine and Chris and Prince Carl Philip next to Princess Christina in the front row.

If you look at the picture of Marianne Bernadotte she is wearing a dress with decorations, while the lady behind princess Christina seems to be without decorations. The hairdo is also different, more similar to Kristine von Blixen-Finecke's in this photo: http://tinyurl.com/d6zyxf8 while Marianne had her hair behind the tiara. A beige dress can look golden in a photo taken at night. And why should Marianne Bernadotte accompany the royal family home, as she lives in Stockholm herself, and she was a guest at the dinner not as a member of the (extended) SRF, but because of her philanthropic pursuits and interest in medicine. There was a short interview with Marianne Bernadotte at the Nobel festivities in Swedish tv, which meant that she had not been one of the guests that were invited to meet with the SRF and the laureates after the dinner.
