My favorite dress of the event was Madeleine's (I am a fan of assymetric cuts). Her appearance looks wonderfully regal!
About Victoria's dress, I wouldn't call it a fashion disastre but it's a boring dress, imo. I love her Tiara!
Queen Silvia looked wonderful in her red gown. I just don't like the kimono sleeves of her dress.

Maybe it depend of they characters, fashion styles...
The best were Victoria and Madeleine or Madeleine and Victoria
But Silvia be honest I thought that she would wear somethnig better much much better than this something. (Maybe she had watched Batman before the gala?)
Tiaras were good. Even Victoria look quite good in this (Lilian's ) tiara. But maybe they should wear different f.ex. Victoria in Madeleine's and Madeleine in Victoria's fringe tiaras...

As I gather it, the December 11 event is not a "tonight" event, but a noon event.
The Nobel Lauterettes (forgot the spelling) all have lunch at the Palace with the Royal Family.
I see your point about no pictures of Madde. (Maybe if the second brother had been there, she would have had an escort?)
You should remember, this December 10-th (and 11-th) event is to make the Nobel recipients 'feel special'. That we get to see the new gowns, and old jewelry of the Royal Ladies is only secondary. The feeling of specialness not only includes the prize presentation, the banquet, the private lunch with the royals the next day, but also a private moment with the Royal Couple during the evening of the Banquet. So to speak, that is the reward.
The cost... toil in obscurity of many years before their paper gets 'recognized' before they pass on; and multitudes of speeches and presentations in Stockholm in the few days leading up to December 10-th.
Now pass me the wine...

Well, I actually think Victoria looked much better yesterday, this is another one of her dresses that started to bore me as they all seem interchangable and come in all colours.
The biggest surprise for me was Princess Christina, I have just seen one picture of her but the necklace (diamonds and pearls?) and the small tiara do not look familiar to me. Are they her own and not part of the Bernadotte jewelry foundation?
Somebody should give mrs. Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg a discrete tiara btw, she would carry it well and I notice that in Sweden (a few) more women than just the royals wear tiara´s, so... They don´t have to be very expensive, so....

Apparantly Madeleine got sick. The court has confirmed that she got what we call "Vinterkräksjukan" i Sverige, which means that she spent the evening as close to the bathroom as possible. I feel really bad for her, you never feel so helpless as when you're sick to the stomach!

What is that illness? Is that like the Norovirus? Norovirus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nothing is worse that vomiting and diarrhea at the same time!

So the court did confirm that Princess Madelaine has diarrhea? I am all in favour of openness at the Royal Courts but here they are going a bit over the top .

That is not correct. The King's annual dinner for the Nobel Laureates is an evening gala dinner.

Well there is no press release or anything, but when All Over Press asked someone at the Press and Information Department they confirmed it. I guess it's the best thing to do, because people are wondering where she was and now we know. It's good to know that also the royals are affected by this horrible bug, it's quite common here and is really one of the most awful things to go through in terms of short period illness.

I do agree with you here. I'm all for finding a style that works for you, but I think she needs to take some chances.
Maybe a different neck line, a different sleeve, a modest front with a daring back, just something. Her dresses are boring. They can be excellent in color or material, but they all look the same after a while.
I wonder if they all come with the geranimals color coded tags so she can mix and match with no problems!!
O.K. that was mean, but it still made me chuckle!

Princess Chrstina is actually wearing her own small spike tiara, which she wears most of the time. it was left to her by one of her godmothers a Countess Bernadotte (not sure which one).

Last years the royal couple give a lunch for the winner of the Nobel peace award!

I also feel bad for her. I was also looking forward to see what she was going to wear to the dinner. Too bad she got sick...

The Nobel Peace Prize ceremony always takes place in Oslo, Norway, not in Stockholm, Sweden. That is due to the fact that Sweden and Norway were in a Union at the time when Alfred Nobel died. Its according to his will that the Peace Prize cermony is in Norway.
That ceremony is not as formal as the cermony in Sweden, and the dinner is not open for the public eye. Take a look in the Norweigan section, I think you will find some pictures there!
