I thought Princess Madeliene and Queen Silvia both looked stunning. Princess Lillian's dress was too low-cut for a 91 year-old in my opinion, but she still looked better than Crown Princess Victoria. I would think if there were one occassion on the royal calendar that called for a new gown it would be the Nobel Prize ceremony and banquet - then recycle them for other events. This is a world stage event!
By the way, is this the first time Madeliene has worn the sapphire and pearl necklace? I've seen pictures of Victoria wearing it, but never Madeliene.

given that this is the NOBEL Prize award I think Victoria should have a new gown for this one.. it is a major event.. she can re-use the gown in a less-important activity.. i hope next year she would have a new gown

I don't think it's supposed to be a fitted dress.

Personally, I like it! It's different, it's new, and I like the color.

I think both the sisters looked great, the right balance between style and appropriateness for this prestigious occasion. In particular Victoria seems to take her role as future Queen very seriously and I don't think she wants to wear anything too revealing or avant-garde. They're both beautiful in m yeyes, and the same for Silvia, who seems to get ever more ravishing as years pass.

So Princess Lilian did attend the event, right? There were reports that she wasn't going, supposedly because it would have been too tiring for her. I'm glad she was there. I'm sure if she herself thought it would put too much strain on her, she would have excused herself.

Thumbs up Here goes!

The title says: "PRINCESS VICTORY And MADELEINE REMAINED WITHOUT CELEBRATION BY ORDER OF QUEEN SILVIA."

In Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, call also the beauty on the water, has been place a year old plus the delivery of the Nobel prizes (105º edition) in the Gilded Hall City Hall, also known like concert hall. Following the tradition, and like each 10 of December, king Carl Gustav of Sweden was the one in charge to preside over the ceremony celebrated in Stockholm. An act in which the Monarch gave to the appraised award to chosen the this year like symbol of the excellence in science and Literature: six Americans awarded in Physics, Chemistry, Economy, Medicine and Physiology; and a Turkish writer, novelist Orhan Pamuk, who narrated for the presents an Eastern story inspired by his own memories of childhood and, mainly, in the suitcase where his father kept what he had written - its literary work and never published. For this act that constitutes without a doubt for Sweden and its citizens a great putting in scene for the world, queen Silvia chose a white dress "silver" of plisada silk and Eastern inspiration and the collection of Sapphires of Leuchtensberg; princess Victoria took red to a dieciochesco suit of chifón and lila sobreembroidered with aterciopeladas leaves and his diadema preferred: the tiara "fringe" of Baden; princess less elegant Madeleine did not release a black suit of blue silk with tul on shoulders and the tiara that his father, the King, gave queen Silvia when the tenth wedding anniversary was marked.
The flowers of San Remo
A unique occasion in which the ladies of the Swedish Real House dress length and shine jewels of the crown - spectacular pieces, of incalculable value, that comprise of the Familiar Foundation of the Bernadotte -. After the solemn ceremony, the Royal Family and the awarded ones, as well as other personalities, met in a supper and dances in full dress. Near 160 guests they were received by the Kings in the gardens of palace and lead later to the gallery of Karl XI. In the table of honor of the Blue hall the City council decorated with the 10,000 flowers that, as it sends the tradition, the Italian city of San Remo sent - place in which Alfred Nobel, creator of the prizes, died in 1896- shared table with the Kings and their three children, inheriting princess Victoria, prince Carl Philip and princess Madeleine, the awarded ones with Nobel, as well as the president of the Foundation Nobel and the one of the Swedish Parliament, prime minister and other authorities. More than 1,200 assistants to the supper álbula of lake (the Swedish caviar), vieiras and fillets of lamb back tasted a flavorful menu made up of exquisiteces of the Nordic kitchen like huevas of coregono. The menu was elaborated by 20 chefs and served by 200 waiters. For so distinguished occasion, 7,000 pieces of porcelain, 5,000 glasses and 10,000 places setting of silver were used.

11 DECEMBER 2006
To the supper did not go, for the first time in 30 years, nonagenaria princess Lilian, aunt of king Carl XVI Gustav, by decision of the Real House before its outpost age. The princess yes went despite a the ceremony of delivery of prizes. More than three hours after the beginning of the banquet, the dance was celebrated in full dress, that it finalized towards the average night. The celebrations continued later with "Nobel Night Cup", an exclusive celebration in the School of Businesses of Stockholm that extended until the five of the dawn. According to it revealed to the tabloide "Aftonbladet" George F. Smoot, one of both winning of Nobel de Fi'sica - he was seated next to princess Madeleine during the supper -, as much she as their sister Victoria wanted to go to the celebration, but queen Silvia did not give permission them. The queen Doña invited Sofía exceptional On the other hand, and in a previous ceremony (with several hours of difference, but also in Sunday) to which took place in the city of Stockholm, the Royal Family Norway presided over the delivery of Nobel of La Paz in the City council of Oslo. The bengalí Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank - represented by Mosammat Taslima Begum- received this year the prize that it founded and who today has almost 7 million poor borrowers, of who the 97 percent is women. Yunus, that was accompanied by its family and personally invited to the act to its great friend the queen Doña Sofía, insisted on the idea that "the poverty is a threat against La Paz" and that what it had affected to him more had been "the congratulations that have arrived from the most remote towns of Bangladesh". The 1.3 million approximated euros with which the award is equipped will distribute between the most needed. The Nobel prizes, who is announced generally in October and is considered as most prestigious of the world all the 10 of December are given annually, date that agrees with the anniversary of the death in 1896 of Alfred Nobel, the Swedish industrialist who invented the dynamite and who bequeathed east award to distinguish to `` that during the preceding year has made the greater benefit to humanidad''.
Translated by my kind Dad! Although not perfect it is sure much better than what I can possibly do! :w00t2:

I hope this helps everyone!

Thank you very much for the translation.

"as much she as their sister Victoria wanted to go to the celebration, but queen Silvia did not give permission them."

Why would this be? My goodness Victoria is 30 in 2007. She shouldn't need permission for anything in my opinion.

Another question, is it just me or is Victoria not wearing her usual portrait of the King?

I think we don't have to take it into account, it's just a magazine and they speculate about all that, it's the same with Princess Lilian, I read that she was banned from going to the dinner.... what a nonsense!

On the first day/evening all ladies looks very elegant.
Silvia'sdress was little strange.
M great dress - smth between Greek and emppire, V - I like it, no matter that she wore it before. And great jewels.
Lilian - that's all she

On the second day/evening I like much more Victria's gown than Madeleine.

I don't like Madeleine's dress. It looks to big for her. But jewels was beautiful.

Thanks for sharing the pictures...

Silvia's first dress (the white one) looked so awful! It must be the first time I totally dislike her dress!
The green dress looked better, but it is also one of her worse dresses...
Normally Silvia is the best dressed Swedisg Royal. This year she's the worst dress.

Viktoria looked great in both dresses! Both are old , but I don't see a problem with this. The red one is so beautiful and the blue one is lovely! She is the winner of the event.

Madeleine looked pretty in blue but the pibk dress was terrible. I don't know why but I didn't like it!

i read that one of men who got the nobel prize, i think it was the man who escorted the CP said they werent allowed , and he told the newspapers in sweden that...

and as for the 2nd outfits... well NO BUTTON TIARAS! *screams of joy!!!!!!!*:w00t2: :w00t2: :w00t2: :w00t2: :w00t2: that totally saved the whole Nobel in my opinion :w00t2::w00t2::w00t2:

well i dont mind her recycling a dress on the second dinner, especially not this one, its very beautiful and at least she doesnt have that awful buttonthingy on her head this time... i still dont like that she recycled on the big dinner, especially not when she recycles on the 2nd dinner tooo one recycling is fiiine.. but two??? & then madeleine got TWO new dresses.. the first one was beautiful... altho empire cut makes the person who wears it look slightly pregnant..but this second? mmm luvly colour but AWFUL cut and it makes her look even mroe pregnant...
n well i love the dress silvia wore so.. good ...to bad she didnt wear smthn as classy as that on the first dinner...
