It was my understanding that Princess Lilian only did attend the awarding ceremony and skipped the banquet on her own request,
due to her frail health.
There is no way that the Svenska Akademien has 'banned' Princess Lilian.

Haha. I understand what you mean. But to prevent misunderstandings to other posters who might not know the Swedish royal family that well: Princess Lilian is the spouse of the late Prince Bertil, a brother to the father of the present King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and also a brother to the mother of the present Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.
So Princess Lilian is inside the core Swedish and Danish royal family:
a sister in law to:
Carl-Johan Count Bernadotte av Wisborg
an aunt to:
Princess Margaretha, fru Ambler
HRH Princess Brigitta, Princess of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen
Princess Désirée, Baroness Silfverschiöld
Princess Christina, fru Magnusson
HM King Carl XVI Gustaf
HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark
HRH Princess Benedikte zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn
HM Queen Anne-Marie of the Hellenes
a great-aunt to
HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden
HRH Prince Carl-Philip of Sweden
HRH Princess Madeleine of Sweden
HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark
HRH Prince Joachim of Denmark

Didn´t like her hairdo either...and also not the earrings.

that is my biggest issue with Wahlin, he still dresses her like she is a girl of 19 but she is now a grown woman, soon 30 with a fantstic body, why not show it of in something mature

Wow!
Princess Lillian looked so classy! And who knew she had it in her..?? She's showing off some skin! Ha! Ha! Just kidding.
Love the dress and the color. She looked so regal, as did Victoria, Madeline, the King, Carl-Phillipe, but Queen Silvia's dress....um...I did not think the large sleeves were very becoming. Other than that, she also looked nice.

And apart from the ''economic angle''; given the fact that so much effort and man-hours are put into every one of these creations, it would be a waste not to use them at least 10 times. (Sorry if I made you faint here )

That is true, it saves taxpayer's money indeed, but let us keep things in perspective. The costs of gowns are peanuts compared by the costs for the upkeep of the royal residences, the security, the transportation, the staff, the military ceremonial, the royal apanages, the royal archives, the royal parks, the royal stables, etc.
The costs for gowns are maybe 1% of the total royal budget.

Mmm, I don't agree with you .
Madeleine looked far less beautiful than she usually does . I think she looked a bit tired and her face and eyes were not as glowing as usually . And this hair-do doesn't suit her, IMO .
This time, I found Victoria more beautiful .

Oh why, oh why couldn't Victoria have gotten a new dress? I've seen that dress way too many times!

I agree. The awarding of the Nobel Prizes is the highlight of the year. Man would expect that new garderobes are purchased for such a major event and eventually re-use it for another, less important event.
For me it is unimagineable that Dutch royal ladies do wear the same gown on Prinsjesdag (Princes' Day / State Opening of Parliament), which is not the most formal white-tie-and-grand-jewelry event (because it is held at Noon), but is aired live on television, like the Nobel awarding ceremony.
But said that, Crown Princess Victoria did look every inch a Princess.

I'm pretty sure Queen Silvia's gown wasn't new, it's just one she hasn't worn much. I believe she wore it on a state visit to Thailand (I don't mean the Thai king's celebrations but a separate visit to that country).

Madeleine looked absolutely amazing yesterday. Don't really like her dress today, though. Makes her look a bit fat?!

I really dont like Victoria´s style in general terms, I think she tries to look demure and ends up looking like a school girl or a secretary and recycling too much. Madeline in the other hand looks like a princess, not only for her beauty but for her style. Although Victoria looked fine, she was overpassed by her sister and her mother. Maybe te royal court should pay more attention in CP style
