I don't understand how the Crown Princess Victoria doesn't have a new dress but her sister does. I somehow feel her Father is still annoyed that she is going to be Queen over her brother and somehow limits her access to new gowns and work wear.

Maybe it is Victoria herself. Perhaps she just isn't into the dress-up aspect as much as her Mother and her sister.

My guess is, that this is simply Victoria´s little "look, how modest, I am" show. Doing it via recycling is the easy way out. Because it´s easily noticeable. But IMO a good dress doesn´t cost the world. One vacation in a luxury hotel less and you can get two

My opinion:

Lillian: Stunning dress! I like it!

Madeleine: wow! The dress of the evening! She looked great! Hair, Tiara, Dress. Just perfect!

Victoria: Nice dress... but a recycled dress on the Nobel event?

Silvia: I didn't really like her dress! I don't like the sleeves....Compared to her other Nobel-dresses it is very disappointing for me...

Perhaps Victoria is not wearing a new dress because she has had a number of formal engagement during the year and have worn new dresses to several of them. I highly doubt the guests at the Nobel festivities scan royal websites to see what the Queen and Princesses have worn to other functions so they can discuss whether the dresses are new or recycled. The dress is most likely very beautiful when seen live.

Why, oh why did Victoria recycle that dress? Madeleine looked fantastic, the dress was beautiful. And Lilian, breathtaking. I didn't really care for Silivia's gown though.

Princess Lilian - amazing, wonderful, elegant, gracious, classy. As ZandraRae said, breathtaking. I'm very proud to see a British-grown Swedish Princess exuding total glamour and bewitching charm.

Queen Silvia - obviously forget to change and attended in her dressing gown.

But good people that Leuchtenburg parure is out of this world. I could not even look at the dress with that in the show. Cheers.

Madeleine, looked wonderful, just like I knew she would. They dress, the tiara and the necklace were perfect.
Dissapointed with Silvia's dress but so glad she wore the sapphires.
Victoria looked nice but I just wish she had worn a new dress. Her jewels were gorgeous though!
CP looked as handsome as ever! Love him.

Wow! I just saw the images on Nobel and I have to say Victoria and Madeleine look wonderful! I love Madeleine's dark blue dress (my favorite. Silvia reminded me of an accordion! I didn't like her dress at all.

Are there pictures of the banquet rather than the actual ceremony? Or maybe even the procession?

Some pics from ANP

Silvia & Lilian

Madeleine is by far the best dressed at the event! Simply stunning, as was Lilian. Silvia needs to remember that she isn't a bird....

Madeleine looked wonderful - beautiful dress and necklace were perfect for her. I'm pretty dissapointed with Silvia's dress, however, the tiara was gorgeous. Victoria looked nice but I did not like her hairdo. Carl Philip looked very handsome.

I agree. One fine leftover from Empress Josephine.

This year, Silvia was absolutely ravishing

Victoria was beautiful too. Madeleine's dress, new or not, it was nice but it didn't really thrill me.

Now a few words. I didn't see the Prize Award live, so I missed princess Lilian, who was banned from the banquet. And I only got a glimpse of princess Christina. Old or not, doesn't the Nobel committee understand that these princesses BELONG in the setup !!!
