Svensk Damtidning has great photos of the Crown princess family, from the filming of SVT's "Året med kungafamiljen". They have interviewed producer Sara Bull.

New wonderful pictures! Estelle and Oscar on treasure hunt
Princess Estelle in a sun hat and Victoria in sneakers and summery hair. We have had a preview of SVT's The Year with the Royal Family!
- We met the Crown Princess family on a beach not far from Solliden on Öland, a couple of days after Victoria's birthday, says Sara Bull.
- It was one of those hot days, but it blew quite much from the water. Estelle and Oscar ran around and picked up litter and then Prince Daniel collected them in the bucket. It became a bit like a treasure hunt, as the Crown Princess says. They made it a fun play while having a lovely outing on the beach. And it became a very natural way to talk to the children about how important it is that you don't litter and that what you take with you to the nature, you should also take it home.
- It reflects the Crown Princess's commitment during the year, many of her missions have focused on the ocean issue and the problems with plastics and microplasts and what it does to the animals and the sea and ourselves.
- But, of course, we also talked about what Öland means for the crown princess, and she became The Öland Inhabitant of The Year.
What do you take with yourself from this day?
- How fun the kids thought it was, it really became a play! I have children and I think this was a very good way to both come out with the family while communicating this important message to the children. So I took with me that it is still easy to make a difference with small things.
And so you've met the queen too!
- Yes, in the kitchen garden at Solliden, in the beginning of her summer vacation. It was also a lovely and hot day. The queen was so relaxed and happy.
- It became a nice conversation about life and happiness and the family. We got to go along when she picked raspberries and strawberries and then she showed the hen house where she usually goes with her grandchildren.
- But we talked about her work as well, and about what happened during the year. And how to really prepare a child to become Sweden's future queen - a big mission. As a queen and a mother of three, she has a long experience of it.
- It was a very nice day. We were there for quite some time and the Queen felt wonderfully at ease and happy.

Expressen today about "Året med kungafamiljen"

In the SVT program "The Year with the Royal Family", the viewers can follow the Royal Family's official missions during the year - and may also meet our royals on more private occasions.
Like when the producer and program leader Sara Bull and photographer Rikard Collsiöö this summer accompanied the Crown Princess family to a beach on Öland.
- It was a warm and beautiful summer day. One of questions close to the heart of the Crown Princess is what we can do to save our ocean and take care of our nature. The family looked for litter on the beach to help clean the beach. But the Crown Princess made it a wonderful play for the children, almost like a treasure hunt. She also took time to talk with us and the children about these important issues, that plastic doesn't belong in the seas, and that you take home what you have brought with you, says Sara Bull.
- The kids thought it was fun, they were really engaged and walked for a long time on the beach and found a lot of things that should not be there, such as plastic bits, bottles, and other things that don't belong at a beach. Making the search of litter to a treasure hunt felt very educational, a smart way to convey an important message to their children while making a wonderful family trip.
Crown Princess Victoria's commitment to climate and the environment appears in many contexts, and she thinks it is important to pay attention to the issue for the Swedish people.
- The Crown Princess wants to put a lot of spotlight on sustainability issues, says chief information officer
Sara Bull also met Queen Silvia in the kitchen garden at Solliden, and it became a long conversation about the family, the work and the turning of years..
- It became a rich interview, we had time to talk a lot. The queen was very happy and relaxed.

From the program I especially remember what Victoria said: "I can also say that we have been faced with this feeling: How do we do our job? Our role? We go out and meet people. That's what we do. We bring people together. Now when we haven't been able to do that, it feels like we are not doing enough. I have felt a huge frustration. It has been a very strange time."

Sara Bull, the producer of "The Year with the Royal Family", says to Svensk Damtidning, that Chris is not with at the program, because it was simply not relevant this year. Can you say something more about why it was not relevant, she is asked and she says no.
Margareta Thorgren says that Madeleine and Chris have not been to Sweden because of corona. There have been no official assignments. Madeleine joined the program to talk about Childhood.

"Kungahuset 2020", TV4's annual program of the Royal Family, was shown yesterday evening. Unfortunately you can watch it at TV4 Play only if you live in Sweden or are a swedish citizen.
The host of the program, Rania Shemoun Olsson, was interviewed yesterday morning at TV4 News morning about the program, and at the clip we see also parts of the program.
Rania tells that while doing the program and following the royals, she was surprised that the king cooks so much, queen Silvia told that the king cooked a lot when they were isolated in Stenhammar and that the king is very skilled in cooking and the queen was his assistant. Rania says that the royal family really feels with the people who suffer from covid-19. Victoria has traveled the most to show her sympathy and support for those working with the pandemic and suffering from it. Rania says that there are also moments of joy this year, they have actually got very close to Victoria and Daniel in some situations. You can almost see how they are private, when they are together. We'll see, they are cute. They are competitive people, both of them. You might think that Daniel is more competitive, but Victoria really wants to win in all situations. It's a little cool to see how they act together.

Not being able to meet the beloved family members has been tough for Queen Silvia.
- I share this with many parents and grandparents, that we must not meet really. I thought it was difficult but I understand of course you can't do it and that you have to respect the rules that existed. But of course it feels in the heart, it does, the queen says to TV4 journalist Rania Shemoun Olsson at "Kungahuset 2020".
Drottning Silvia om att slitas från barnbarnen

The viewers probably noticed that Madeleine is not in any interview in "Kungahuset 2020".
When Hänt asked Margareta Thorgren about this, she answered briefly that it is about the corona pandemic. Now, however, it has become common with meetings over video calls, but it was not relevant according to Margareta Thorgren.
"You can ask TV4 about that", she answers when Hänt asks why it was not relevant. Hänt asked TV4, without getting an answer.

Rania Shemoun Olsson asked at the program how Victoria has talked to her children about the pandemic. Victoria said that of course you have to be careful with the way you tell the children, but they also take part in the news. Victoria thinks it is important that they know what is going on, and she tries to say that there are many in our society today who live under great stress, you have to have great respect for that and we have to take care of each other.

Perhaps Rania Shemoun Olsson was interviewing a member of the Royal Family to the program today?
Maybe she was there filming parts of the visit of the President of Switzerland? It's most likely the closest we'll get to a state visit this year.

In the recording of "Kungahuset", TV4's annual program of the Royal Family, the king and queen speak about life with the corona pandemic. This interview was done yesterday on their visit to Sörmlandsleden in Hälleforsnäs.
At the short clip from the interview king Carl Gustaf states, among other things, that he believes that Sweden has proceeded too fast when it comes to reopening the country.
- It went a little fast maybe in some places, I think.
In addition to his reflections on the reopening of the country, the king also calls for continued caution, even if the restrictions have been lifted.
- We still have to hold on. It's not over, this will hang in.
Queen Silvia wishes for more people to be vaccinated, she would like to ask all young people to get vaccinated. Protect yourselves, protect the others, the queen says.

German TV is again doing a documentary about the swedish royal family.
Aftonbladet's royal expert Jenny Alexandersson posted yesterday to her Facebook:
"Today I participated in a large German royal documentary that focuses on our Swedish royal family. It was a bit rusty to sit in front of the camera for so long again (and also speak English which always makes it a little harder) but incredibly fun. It was nice to see producer Julia Melchior again who I have known for over 15 years now. It will be exciting to see the result, the documentary will be shown next year in German-speaking countries."

SVT's annual program of the royal family "Året med kungafamiljen" (The Year with the Royal Family) will be broadcasted on 21st December at 20.00.
"Sara Bull has followed the royal family during a year when pandemic restrictions were slowly released over Sweden and Europe.
Follow when the King and Queen bring the Crown Princess couple and their children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, on a ski trip in Drottningholmsparken. And do not miss when Crown Princess Victoria pulls in and gives first aid in a military exercise with the Home Guard in Dalarna. There will also be a royal christening - this time it's Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia's third child, Prince Julian, to be christened - but also much more."

The skiing trip was great, and it was nice to see Estelle singing along Carola at Solliden Sessions. The interviews were good at the program and Victoria and Daniel's visit to Italy was well shown. And to see the king with the scouts, he looked so happy.

Kristin Mcmillen writes at her chronicle at a paywall article at ETC (a left-wing Swedish magazine focusing on investigative journalism, photo reporting and interviews) about "The Year with the Royal Family":
Why it's time to scrap "The Year with the Royal Family"
The king makes the "rocket" with scout children and praises milk. Silvia reads inside from various bad scripts. Prince Daniel "is passionate about exercise" while Princess Sofia says that children should "be allowed to be themselves".
The whole gang also gets to show themselves human by petting different dogs and pigs. Unfortunately, it only works in part.
Mcmillen writes that anyone who has worked with storytelling knows that with simple steps you can make a story more compelling and interesting. Roughly simplified, some kind of conflict, dramaturgy or at least one issue is needed.

I agree that the script of the program wasn't very good. The interviews, especially Victoria's and the King's were good. I had hoped that they would have shown some of Victoria and Daniel's meetings with Sweden's all 290 municipalities. But they didn't.

Rania Shemoun Olsson, the host of "Kungahuset", TV4's annual program of the royal family, was today at TV4's News morning and told about the program.
Some clips were shown, among them a clip of the crown princess family on a walk on Djurgården. They walked to watch "Life Rings", the sculpture by Elmgreen & Dragset, which The Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation bought this year.

Rania about Estelle and Oscar: "So charming!"
Rania Shemoun Olsson followed the royal family during the past year. And many are most curious about the royal children.
Rania says that they have mainly met the children of Victoria and Daniel, Estelle and Oscar.
TV4 got to film the Crown Princess with family on a Sunday walk on Djurgården.
- These children are so charming! They joked with our photographer, wanted to film themselves and grab the camera. They are like any other children, absolutely wonderful! says Rania.
Steffo asks: And the dog?
Rania says: Rio! So cute! It feels like they will get more dogs - I think the children will each have one!

More about the program, some clips at Rania's interview:
"The king says what he thinks"
Rania is asked, how many times she has "duad" the royal family? Rania says that some times, but she hasn't got any big reactions from them about that. Rania also tells tht the royal family is very forthcoming, for instance in Italy when the media wanted to take photos of Victoria and Daniel in the evening lights on the terrace, Victoria said that let's do it right away.

Oscar sings "Mamma, mamma, mamma...", Daniel says that this maybe comes to TV when Oscar sings so nicely. Oscar says "no". Estelle starts to sing "Pappa, pappa, pappa ..." Daniel laughs and says to Estelle: "Do you feel sorry for me? I'm used to being number two"

The King and Queen tell on TV4 about how they were quarantined during the pandemic.
They have spent a lot of time out in nature - and grilled sausages.
The King, who has previously been critical of the Swedish corona strategy, believes that Sweden reopened far too quickly during the autumn. He would have liked us to keep our distance.
- It went a little fast maybe, in some places I think. We can still hold on. It's not over. This will hang in, in the future as well.
For the royal couple, who lived at Stenhammar Castle in Sörmland for a long time, the pandemic has involved many walks in nature. Queen Silvia says that when they were here in quarantine, you see what it means. It means a lot to the soul, she thinks.
The King admits that they grilled often. He has never eaten so much sausage in his whole life, but he doesn't think they are alone in that.
Victoria and Danniel visit a vocational high school where the students have studied at a distance during the past year. Daniel meets construction students and tells them that his children have started to carve a little and that they have a small carpentry workshop in the basement. There has been made a birdhouse, a bench and a few different things.
TV4's team also follow to Rosendal on Djurgården where Victoria, Daniel, Estelle and Oscar showed how they planted bulbs. Oscar, however, hovered over the goal of what it was about for onions.
- Eh, garlic, he guessed.
With a little help from Daniel, he comes to the conclusion that it was tulips.
- There were several thousand tulip bulbs. We planted all of these in almost two hours, Victoria fills in and gives the thumbs up to Oscar.
