The royal family needs more money to it´s functions. The King wants 12 million SEK extra for inflation adjustments in the next three years, according to the budget documents the royal court now submitted to the Finance Ministry.
Prince Daniel's entry into the royal family has made to increasing costs.
- Now that we have a new member of the royal family, Prince Daniel, we get requests for things you want him to be on, and to administer this, it takes resources away from us. We are looking for no extra money for the princess Estelle, says Jan Lindman, senior curator at the royal court to Expressen.se.

Aftonbladet made a poll if the royal family should get more money. 85000 people answered, and 83 % of them answered no.
Some answers:
"Of course I support the royal family but too exaggerated amount of money taken from us taxpayers!"
"Put the money on schools and health care instead!"
"Take away all the money from Madeleine, she is not even present in Sweden, not even in the EU. Eva in Thailand can´t have her guaranteed pension because she is outside the EU, Madeleine can´t get the money when she is in the United States."
Those who said yes:
"The royal family do not sit and roll their thumbs at home at the Palace, but they are out meeting people, working with vulnerable children, make a state visit, etc. Victoria was on the road only one day before Estelle was born, and I think is well done. But you who are against the monarchy could start saving up money for the cost of a president instead ... "

Well Prince Daniel must be good if he is costing the royal firm more money than is comfortable to do his "Job", so I am guessing he has become a very popular addition to the family.
I think his media brief after the birth of Estelle really showed how comfortable he is in his own skin and how well he has adapted to royal life. I'll bet he got lots of requests for engagements after that little side show.

Expressen has an exclusive story on it´s cover,
Madeleine´s peace meeting with Sofia
http://www.expressen.se/ImageHandler.axd?imageFormat=firstColumn&guid=1d658594-08e6-4d8d-8850-814edbf3d31f
Finnish MTV tells about the lunch and story in Expressen. Carl Philip, Sofia and Madeleine had lunch in restaurant Riche, Madeleine´s favourite restaurant. They were there for two hours and Madeleine and Sofia seemed to have a lot to talk about. When they left the restaurant, Madeleine said that "they had had a really nice time, really".

It seems to me that there has been a serious family meeting about all the negative comments and media reports (also from the rift between Madeleine and Sofia), and they have decided that something has to be done.

I agree and this looks maximum forced / staged. And to me, its not even a success: Madeleine is wearing sunglasses and is keeping her head down, if at all talking to CP who doesnt look comfortable either.
The only one who looks happy and smiling is Sofia, doing her favouite thing, enjoying attention and talking to the paparazzi
As mentioned before, it had to be done for the greater good, but it wont put the rumours to rest.

I was really surprised to see that picture given reports that I had read about Madeleine "not welcoming" Sofia into the family and so on.
However, nothing seems to faze Sofia at all. She does look genuinely happy.

Well, it IS a success for Sofia, finally she is "accepted" by her "biggest enemy" within the RF. Another step closer to an announcement.
Looking forced/staged or not, everything is better than hearing about tensions in the RF. This is NOT something which should be discussed in every media, but normally shoud stay behind the palace walls.
Madeleine is in the fireline at the moment anyway, so she may have decided to at least finish one battle .

It's not that interesting, but rather predictable...

I agree, it's sad that SRF is actually blind to this. They fight for their privacy and on the other hand accept someone who seeks the media attention, I don't think that Sofia will play by they rules once she gets the ring.

Madeleine must love her brother. What a farce of a PR-show.

The court has updated their calendar, Daniel will attend the official dinner on Thursday with the king, the queen and Madeleine.

Well, according to the calendar, Madeleine has an event in the US at the end of next month. Wonder if she'll stay in Sweden till then?

I would guess that she returns to New York after this week and comes back home for the christening. In a few days we will see.
