The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2019 are on 4–17 February in Åre, Sweden. We can hopefully see the members of the royal family on many days in Åre.
 
King Carl Gustaf and crown princess Victoria attend today and tomorrow at the Society and Defence National Conference (Folk och Försvars Rikskonferens) in Sälen.
Victoria arrived to Sälen this morning. She was welcomed by Chairman Göran Arrius and Secretary General Maud Holma von Heijne. Also Ylva Thörn, the governor of Dalarna county, was there to welcome Victoria.

Moderator Eva Hamilton said that there is a mess with the government and we don't know who will be in the government and if we are going to have extra election. Then she welcomed the king and the crown princess and said that they are long-term at their positions and represent safety in Sweden. And highlighted that this is the first time when the king and Victoria are together at the conference.

The King and Victoria attend at the second day of the conference. One of the speakers in the evening is Ewa Skoog Haslum, Deputy vice-chancellor of Swedish Defence University. She was Victoria's aide-de-camp until January 2017.

Sunday began with speeches by Minister for Defence Peter Hultqvist and Moderate Party Chairman Ulf Kristersson.
The audience then took part in discussions on transatlantic relations and China.
The Nordic Region was in focus during Monday. Among other things, a panel discussion was held with the defence ministers of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The Crown Princess's fashion success in Sälen
For the royal house, the conference Folk och Försvar in Sälen is an opportunity to get acquainted with issues concerning the national security.
And Crown Princess Victoria also shows her ability to dress for any occasion.
On Sunday, the annual national conference started and it runs until Tuesday.
As usual, there is the court with attendance from both King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria.
Crown Princess Victoria has since her arrival demonstrated her ability to dress for all occasions, at seminars as well as at the ski slope and at the opening ceremony.
- Victoria is always elegant and here she really shows that she can dress in any weather. Fun to see the Crown Princess in ski outfit with the ski goggles on her head. Then she swept over and appeared in a stylish, gray suit matched nicely with pink shirt, says Expressen's fashion expert Therese Loberg.
The evening before, Victoria showed up in white knit blouse with high collar, silver earrings, black jacket and wide suit pants. To that she had one of her newest accessories - a budget watch from the Swedish brand Carl Edmond.
- Victoria really beamed in her outfit and looked lovely business-chic in the blouse with high collar, says Therese Loberg.
The King and Victoria Crown Princess spent two days in Sälen.
- They came in Sunday morning and are there until 5 pm on Monday. They sit and listen to different speakers, said Margareta Thorgren.
Why is it important for the royal family to attend?
- These are important issues when it comes to preparedness. The subject as such, people and defence, and preparedness issues are and have been very up-to-date. It's about total defence and issues that concern Sweden and therefore the head of state tries to participate in these seminars that have been going on for many years, said Margareta Thorgren.

A Council of State will take place Monday 21st January at 14:15 at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. This is the last step, and official shift of Government that was voted on in the Riksdag today. The King will preside over the meeting and verifies that a shift of Government has taken place, and as usual will the Crown Princess be there as well. The Prime Minister will deliver a Statement of Policy in the Riksdag, where he also informs of the ministers and ministries of the Government, on Monday 11.00.

On Monday, January 21, the King, the Crown Princess and Princess Estelle visited the Bernadotte Library. The library, which is located in the Royal Palace, contains over hundred thousand books belonging to the Bernadotte dynasty's kings and queens. The library room was completed in 1796 and was originally built to be a Swedish national library.

I really admire how Crown Princess Victoria is educating Estelle. These regular visits to teach Estelle about the monarchy will be beneficial for Estelle. These visits seem relaxed, like a school museum visits for example. I'm sure Estelle will be fully prepared when she becomes the crown princess and, eventually, Queen.


This is what should be done. Nor a strict education neither a "be normal as possible" education. They seem to have a great balance on raising Estelle on the royal life and private life. I think Ingrid Alexandra is having a similar education. Leonor of Spain started her royal duties late, but still on time to learn slowly and without rush.
 
Estelle is a lovely little girl and she always seems to pay close attention on these visits and seems genuinely curious in the information being presented to her. Love the photo of her wheeling the books in particular!

Completely agree. These museum visits feel relaxed as if they're popping into a local attraction on their way home from school to kill some time before dinner - which eliminates the scariness I can imagine one would feel in a situation where they've been leading a normal life and are now told that they're to be the future monarch. They're not thrusting Estelle into the deep end, but have been introducing her royal background and responsibilities to her step by step as she grows up.

:previous: Agreed. It seems that CP Victoria and Prince Daniel have taken a leaf out of CP Frederik and CP Mary's book. They started Prince Christian's royal education early too.

Victoria and Daniel are raising Estelle (and Oscar) the same way than Victoria and her siblings were raised. The king and queen took them to the official events when they were very small, to the king's birthday celebrations, to the National Day celebrations, to Victoria's birthday celebration and other events. And they were told about the history of Bernadotte dynasty and the kings and queens of Sweden.

Princess Estelle's historic family time - at the library
Princess Estelle, almost seven years old, is learning more and more about the history of her own royal family.
Crown Princess Victoria, Estelle and King Carl Gustaf visited the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace.
At the beginning of January, Estelle was allowed to go down to the Royal Palace's cellar vault to look at the national regalia that are in the treasury.
And this week, the Princess visited the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace - which holds over 100,000 books belonging to the Bernadotte family.
At the same time there are also around 800,000 photographs saved - in addition to that there are plenty of old family history inside the library walls, and at the Royal House's Instagram are a whole bunch of pictures of when Princess Estelle explores the library.

- The princess was very interested. She thought the visit was so much fun.
What does the Crown Princess think of bringing Princess Estelle on such visits?
- It is a cultural heritage and the Crown Princess is so happy that Princess Estelle is so interested. She is in the age when children are very curious, so in this case you want to talk about family history in an easy and fun way.
Margareta Thorgren also tells us that we can look forward to more visits of this type. The mother and daughter have already visited the Treasury at the Royal Palace. Wondering which royal hide she is visiting next!

Finally! I thought it was planned for February, but given all attendance at World Championships it was probably tricky go arrange. The attendance of the Royal Family is as expected, and it will be Sofia's first Riksdagssupé.

If they were going to make Prince Daniel sit in the second row, at least they could have put him right behind CPVictoria, and not at the other end.
CarlPhilip could sit behind his father, PSofia behind QSilvia, and PDaniel behind CPVictoria.

Divertissement in the Hall of State
The evening started with divertissement in the Hall of State, a room that was created in 1717 by the Palace builder Nicodemus Tessin younger as the Palace's main ceremony room. The hall was, however, first used in 1755. In recent times, the hall has been used as a banquet hall at the King's 50th and 70th anniversaries, at the Crown Princess's 18th birthday as well as at the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel's wedding dinner.
The Divertissement began with the invited guests singing together The King's Song. After that, Förklädd gud, a lyrical suite from 1940 by Lars Erik Larsson with text by Hjalmar Gullberg, performed by the Lilla Akademiens Sinfonietta, Stockholm Chamber Choir, Lovö church choir, The Royal Chapel's vocal ensemble and the Palace's Choir. Soloists were court singers Hillevi Martinpelto and Karl-Magnus Fredriksson. Helgi Reynisson recited. Court trumpetist Olle Hermansen with ensemble from the Royal Swedish Army Band also played.
The program was compiled by the court organist Mary Ljungqvist Hén on behalf of, and in consultation with, the King.
Greeting Ceremony
After the concert, the Royal Family went to the Pillar Hall in the Bernadotte Apartments where they received and greeted the evening's 432 guests.
Supper
The supper was then taken at the Royal Apartments. The Riksdag suppers are the largest dinners that are repeatedly given at the Palace. At the evening's dinner, several rooms were therefore used. The supper was served at the Cabinet Meeting Room, Audience Room, Gustav III's State Bedchamber and Karl XI's Gallery.

Before the Holy Week, the King and Queen and the Crown Princess, together with priests attached to the court, attended at an agape meal at the Royal Chapel in the Royal Palace on April 9th.
An agape meal - "love meal" - is a worship service during which the participants also take a meal. The Agape meal originates from the oldest Christian church's home meals and is a kind of imitation of Jesus' farewell meal with the apostles.

King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia and prince Daniel held this afternoon a diplomatic reception to newly arrived ambassadors with their significant others. At the reception attended ambassadors from Namibia, Croatia, Botswana, Ethiopia, Armenia and Northern Macedonia.

Kalender - Sveriges Kungahus

Princess Takamado attends at the third Dementia Forum X at the Royal Palace on 15th May, and obviously queen Sofia attends at the Forum this year too, she attended at the second Forum in 2017.

Seems like there is no Representationsmiddag (official dinner) this spring, nontheless the announce one last minute for late May or early June. But I doubt so.
