On Tuesday, September 29, the King, Queen, Crown Princess and Prince Daniel held a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde at the Royal Palace. During the meeting proposals for next year's state visits and official visits were discussed.
State Secretary Robert Rydberg and the Chief of Protocol Maria Lundquist from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs also participated.

From the court also the Marshal of the Realm, Fredrik Wersäll attended the meeting.

On Tuesday, October 6, the King, Queen, Crown Princess and Prince Daniel gave a digital audience to Ambassador Karin Olofsdotter, Sweden's envoy to Washington DC, United States.
Ahead of the forthcoming presidential and congressional elections in the United States on November 3, Sweden's ambassador to Washington DC gave in the afternoon an account to the Royal Family regarding the domestic political situation in the country.
Ambassador Olofsdotter also provided information on bilateral relations between Sweden and the United States.

King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia, crown princess Victoria and prince Daniel met today representatives of The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå).
So far the court hasn't published any photos of the meeting.
 
Dates for the royal visits to all counties in Sweden
Due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, members of the Royal Family, on the initiative of HM the King, are visiting Sweden's 21 counties.
Through the visits, the King wants to show participation with the affected and draw attention to local initiatives in various sectors of society.

The first nine visits will take place in the autumn 2020.
On Monday 12 October, the King and Queen will begin the visits with visiting Stockholm County.
On Thursday 15 October, the Crown Princess Couple visits Västmanland County.
On Thursday 22 October, the Crown Princess Couple visits Södermanland County.
On Wednesday 28 October, the Prince Couple visits Värmland County.
On Thursday 5 November, the Crown Princess Couple visits Örebro County.
On Wednesday 11 November, the Crown Princess Couple visits Uppsala County.
On Thursday 19 November, the Prince Couple visits Dalarna County.
On Wednesday 25 November, the Crown Princess Couple visits Östergötland County.
On Friday, December 4, the Crown Princess Couple visits Gävleborg County.
All visits are carried out in forms adapted to the ongoing pandemic and in accordance with the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations. A limited number of media representatives are invited to attend the visits. Dates for the planned visits may change with regard to the current situation and current recommendations.

Royal inauguration of the golden bridge ”Slussbron”
The Slussen re-construction has come to an important milestone where Slussen and The Old Town will be linked together and the new golden bridge “Slussbron” will be used for the first time. The City of Stockholm is delighted to announce that HM King Carl XVI Gustaf and HRH Crown princess Victoria will inaugurate the bridge on the 25th of October.
11.00 am: A small amount of guests will be part of the inauguration studio hosted by Ms. Titti Schultz. Some of the guests include; Head architect Mr. Spencer De Grey, artist Mr. Ernst Billgren, and Project Manager Ms. Ida Mann. Entertainment by singer Sabina Ddumba and members from the The Royal Swedish Army Band.
11.50 am: Welcome greetings by Joakim Larsson, Vice Mayor at the Office for City Planning.
12.00 am: HM King Carl XVI Gustaf and HRH Crown princess Victoria inaugurates Slussbron.
Only a small amount of guests will be at the site, and a limited amount of media representatives will be invited.

On 6th October queen Silvia, crown princess Victoria and prince Daniel met at the Royal Palace Kajsa Boglind, earlier Washington correspondent for the Swedish National Public Radio and now working as a program host for P4 Världen at Swedish Radio in Sweden.
This meeting wasn't at the court calendar.

- The court called and said that the Crown Princess couple and Queen Silvia wanted to find out about the US election, so then I put on my best dress and cycled down to the palace. I sat there for a little over an hour and told and above all answered questions from them about the US election and about what might be important to think about and so on, Kajsa Boglind says in Swedish Radio's USAPodden.
Kajsa Boglind didn't want to reveal what they discussed about, she said that she can not say that, because this was not a journalistic situation, she was there, as a court employee said, for a confidential conversation.
- But I can say that the queen and the crown princess couple were very well-read and very interested in the USA, and that is of course due to the fact that they have lots of connections to the USA. The Crown Princess has studied at Yale, and the Queen has these foundations Mentor and Childhood, which means that she is very much in the USA. And then she has grandchildren in Florida, because Princess Madeleine lives there.

The king gave a short interview to SVT, he said that this is just the beginning of a new fantastic meeting place in Stockholm.

On Sunday 25 October, the King, in the presence of the Crown Princess and Princess Estelle, inaugurated the new bridge Slussbron, which connects Stadsholmen and Södermalm in Stockholm.

The king said at his speech among other things:
In October 1935, the so-called Klöverblads lock was inaugurated by my great-grandfather, King Gustaf V.
Also present at that time was my grandfather Gustaf Adolf, who was then Crown Prince, as well as my father, Hereditary Prince Gustaf Adolf.
And today, 85 years and ten days later, I stand here in the company of my daughter, the Crown Princess and little Princess Estelle, ready to inaugurate the new Slussbron - or Guldbron as it has come to be called.

This bridge must be rather important given that the king, crown princess and future crown princess showed up. Does it connect two neighborhoods that were previously not connected? Or what else makes it so special that all three of them showed up?
 
He said it in his speech I believe. 85 years ago his great grandfather, grandfather and father imaugurated a bridge. I guess he wanted to show the same continuity. Estelle is such a pro already.

I really loved this and I love the mother - daughter duo. Cannot wait to see Queen Victoria and Crown Princess Estelle at the Nobel!!

Like the king said at his speech today, and we see from the old photo at court Instagram I posted yesterday, in October 1935, the Karl Johansslussen ("Lock of Charles John") and traffic junction Slussen were inaugurated by King Gustaf V, in the presence of Crown Prince Gustaf (VI) Adolf, Crown Princess Louise, Hereditary Prince Gustaf Adolf and Princess Sibylla.
King Carl Gustaf wanted to continue the tradition by inaugurating the new bridge in the presence of the crown princess and princess Estelle.

Lovely symbolism, that 85 years apart, the king/heir/heir's heir were all together to open a bridge together. Such a change that in this case not only the heir but the heir's heir are both females. A much welcome change.

I love seeing the multiple generation heir events. And not simply at a big event like National day and such. To see the continuation.

Estelle is very poised already. You can see what the early introduction to royal life has done for her. When she hits the teen years like some of her contemporaries are now (either heir's heirs or heirs themselves already) she will likely be leaps and bounds beyond most of them. Her parents have found a wonderful balance of allowing her to be a normal kid/student but also introduce her to both the history and to her future role.

So, based on the King's speech, the son of the Crown Prince (Kronprins) was called Hereditary Prince (Arvprins in the YouTube subtitles). So why isn't Estelle called "Arvprinsessa" as the eldest daughter of the Crown Princess?

Estelle has grown so much since we last saw photos of her - she's turned into a young lady just in the past few months! She could easily pass as a tween IMO. She also seems to be quite confident and still looks a lot like Victoria.

Carl Philip was at first listed to attend too.

Information officer Johan Tegel told about the meeting to Svensk Damtidning that it was a physical meeting at the Royal Palace:
- On the agenda was, among other things, the Government's bill on the Total Defence 2021-2025. The Minister for Defence presented the parts concerning the military defence and the Minister for Home Affairs the parts concerning the civil defence.

One could always speculate that Carl Philip's absence has to do with all the new Covid-19 restrictions that have been put on about 75% of the Swedish population during the last few days. Those concerning Stockholm were put in place on October 29th. The restriction against taking part in unnecessary meetings in particular would be valid here.
 
King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia, Victoria, Daniel, Carl Philip and Sofia had today a video meeting with the county governors in Sweden.

This was the third meeting with the county governors after the pandemic started. King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia, Victoria and Daniel had video meetings with the governors on 28th May and 10th September.

At the meeting with the county governors the Governor of Västmanland County, and the Governor's Group's doyen, Minoo Akhtarzand, began the meeting by giving a general overview of the current situation in the counties during the the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. Then each governor reported on the situation in their counties.

The King, Victoria and Daniel held on Wednesday a video meeting with Swedish business representatives to get information on how the covid-19 pandemic continues to affect companies. The meeting was attended by representatives from small and medium-sized companies in various industries and with operations in different parts of Sweden.
On May 11 the King and Daniel had a meeting with business representatives and on September 18 the King and Victoria participated.

The king, queen, Victoria and Daniel gave on Thursday 17th December a digital audience to Karin Olofsdotter, Ambassador of Sweden to the United States.

They gave an audience to Karin Olofsdotter also on 6th October, ahead of the presidential and congressional elections in the United States.
 
King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia, Victoria and Daniel had this morning a digital meeting with Lena Hallengren, the Minister for Health and Social Affairs.
Lena Hallengren told about the current situation regarding the covid-19 pandemic in Sweden and Europe and how the government views the situation in Sweden now. She told also about the government's work to ensure that Sweden is well prepared to handle vaccinations, recommendations and restrictions ahead the holidays.

Daniel, Carl Philip and Sofia attended last year The Sports Gala.

Svensk Damtidning has spoken with Margareta Thorgren about this year's Gala on 18th January. The Gala will be held with corona-adapted conditions.
Thorgren said that the both princes attend. Carl Philip hands out the Jerring Prize and Daniel Årets Peppare Prize. Thorgren has no information about Sofia's presence at the gala at the moment.

The royal court updated the first work events of the year to its calendar, most of them are digital meetings. The king and Victoria attend on 11th January at the Folk och Försvar National Conference (Society and Defence), which is this year held as a digital meeting. On 18th January the king, queen, Victoria and Daniel have a digital meeting with Swedish Public Health Agency's Director General Johan Carlson and Daniel and Carl Philip attend at the Sports Gala.

Svensk Damtidning has asked Margareta Thorgren, why Sofia doesn't attend the Sports Gala this year (18th January), she has been there with Carl Philip in many years.

King Carl Gustaf just spoke in the beginning of the digital Folk och Försvar National Conference (Society and Defence). He spoke from the Royal Palace and gave also a greeting from Victoria and Daniel, who are following the conference from Haga Palace.

The theme for the National Conference 2021 is Sweden's ability to meet threats and crises in a changing world. During the conference, ten program blocks with different topics will be discussed.
The King and the Crown Princess Couple participate in the conference from the Royal Palace and Haga Castle, respectively.
The King participated with a live greeting to this year's participants and audience at the opening of the national conference.
