The king wants more money from the taxpayers to the court functions. The Royal Court gets this year of SEK 128 million from taxpayers, more than half of the money is king's apanage which goes to everything from the celebrations to trips and wages.
But that money is not enough, according to the King. He is now requesting from the Government of SEK 6.3 million extra for security measures. The court also tells that they would need another four million to cover wage and price increases. A total of 10 million.
When it comes to money requested for security is the court reticent.
- It's all about safety. But why, where and in what ways we do not go into that. We never comment that, says Lindman.
One of the year's big spending is prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist's wedding. It will cost over six million if it will be as lavish as princess Madeleine's.
Then the taxpayers, through the allocation to the royal household, paid three million and the rest the king paid from his own pocket.
According to Lindman wedding can result in becoming a deficit of Court Administration - just as it was after Madeleine's wedding.
Then you have to re-prioritize and make new considerations in the budget.
- Anxious projects are implemented, but less urgent projects might slid slightly in the future.
Carl Philip's upcoming wedding is not mentioned in the budget documents to the government.
The court's information department is getting increasingly digital. The website and the royal family's Facebook page are updated more often and supplemented by more movies and photos.
- The profile of those working in the communication department has gradually changed as the technology changes, says Lindman.
Royal family business is not just about parties, trips and glamour. The old buildings next to Drottningholm Palace need extensive renovations.
