@Marty91charmed

Sofia doesn't have the family badge on for this event:

I'm referring to the portrait of the king with the ribbon.

Yes, i know. :flowers:

Sofia's dress reminds that dress of Madeleine, and the sleeves come to mind from this Alberta Ferretti dress Madeleine had at her engagement photos

To be honest, that dress is a very similar copy of the one "ByMalina". But aside from the sleeves, also the top part is slightly different. (Neckline and the "knot" under the breast area.)

:previous: Thanks LadyFinn! Do you think there some pics will come out regarding yesterday's concert?

Feel sorry for them trying to get in and out of the car with the blinding flashes. The king seemed to have an especially difficult time seeing.

The first official dinner of the year will be held on 3rd February. The king, queen, Victoria, Daniel, Carl Philip and Sofia are listed to attend.

Its nice seeing Sofia with the king and queen but where is Carl Philip?

The king inaugurates right now the exhibition 'In Course of Time – 400 years of royal clocks'.
The exhibition features more than 50 royal clocks – some of which are on show for the first time – dating from the 16th century to the present day. The exhibition is being arranged to mark The King's 70th birthday on 30 April 2016, and will be on show until 8 May.

The king takes his motto "For Sweden - With the times" seriously. He has obtained the latest smart watch with all functions and reveals: I have a watch for every day!
The King and Queen together with Crown Princess Victoria inaugurated today the new exhibition at the Royal Palace: 'In Course of Time – 400 years of royal clocks'.
The king told that the oldest clock among clocks which are now exhibited is more than 420 years old.
- At the Palace we have over 100 clocks and a person who once a week walks around and pulls up all the clocks. And it takes time, joked the King.
- There are amazing many fine clocks. Especially one I got from my parents when I was little. That I remember very well. Nowadays I don't use it for normal use.
The King is so interested in time that he has acquired a so-called smart watch:
- Yes I have. A fantastic watch. I'd actually had me it on this today, but did not find it this morning.
The queen proudly showed off her watch:
- Do you know what is so special with my watch?
That it has two dials for two world times!
- Yes, two times!
When Princess Madeleine lived in the USA had Queen Silvia Eastern Time set at minus 6 hours. Now the question is what is the new time? London?
The queen laughs and says quickly:
- We will not tell that! But it is very handy when flying and traveling. Ona can set all times.
So the most important question to the king: What is most important with a clock? What he said? Guess...
- That it has the right time of course! emphasizes the King.

The queen had also said that there is one clock at the exhibition the king had bought her, and said that the press could guess what it is.

Nice exhibition and nice to see the interest of the royal family.

I like the dress and coat of Victoria, but sorry for repeating a comment so frequently mentioned, she should change/renew her hairstyle

I'm so happy that Victoria recycled that dress, I was hoping for that.

According to Johan T Lindwall, Sofia has borrowed her dress from her friend Olivia Rehn, who wore the dress at Carl Philip's and Sofia's wedding.

Lindwall's article about Victoria, how this is the last gala dinner for her before giving birth.
Lindwall writes that Victoria's calendar was updated even today with an event on 11th February.
- The official calendar for the royal family may be changing all the time. There may come things like now, explains Ulrika Näsholm the court's press department.
There will be more jobs for Crown Princess Victoria before birth?
- It's nothing we have information about at the current situation, says Ulrika Näsholm.

According to Svensk Damtidning, Sofia didn't borrow the dress from Olivia Rehn - but from Carolina Pihl (with whom she has the yoga brand Drop of Mindfulness). According to SD it was Carolina, who wore the dress at Carl Philip's and Sofia's wedding.

I agree, the dress is lovely on Vic and nice to see it recycled.

I'm very dissapointed for all royal ladies tonight, the dresses, the tiaras. The Queen is for me the best dressed but i want her to another color.

except that on the photo, it is not Carolina Pih but it's Olivia Rehn.

The king and crown princess Victoria attended today at the meeting of the Council of State. At the meeting each minister informs the king and the crown princess about political initiatives, reports and pending legislation in their respective ministries and answers questions from the King.

Nice to see a picture of the State Council (hint hint to the other royal houses lol ;))

@Lady Finn - I never understood why in royal reporting, the married in royal's name goes before the blood royal's? I have seen this with Maxima, Mary, Mette-Marit, etc. Is the press still trying to promote the Cinderella story years after the "commoner" bride put on the glass slipper and to continue to sell papers? I thought the protocol is that the one of the blood royal goes before the married in. The media seems like it wants to make the married in more important than the blood prince(ss).

Another questions of pre-eminence: on the court calendar Daniel & Carl Philip are receiving UN ambassadors on Mar. 10. Without Victoria or the king there, who does the ambassador approach and bow to first - Daniel, husband of the crown princess, future prince consort and father of a future queen or Carl Philip, former crown prince but now prince of the blood royal and 4th in line to the throne and impending father of another successor?

We will see what happens on 10th March with Daniel and Carl Philip at receiving UN Ambassadors.
But, when Daniel has attended at official dinners where Victoria hasn't attended
In March 2012, when Estelle was just born, Daniel was at the guest list after Madeleine
http://www.kungahuset.se/download/1...2961/1390580993800/GästLista+15+mars+2012.pdf
In March 2014, when Victoria was at a visit to Ghana and Tanzania, Daniel was at the guest list after Carl Philip

It seems similar to the UK, where spouses fall after prince/princesses of the blood if their royal partner is not present. So if Victoria is there, Daniel only follows the queen and king (and any visiting heads of state). But if his wife is not there, he follows CP and Madeleine.
