If I remember correctly both Victoria and Daniel in general choose to refrain from alcohol and stick to water.

Yes, that has been told at the swedish press many times. Sometimes, like at the Nobel dinner, they make an exception.

Though there were no tiaras it was a grand reception at the Palace,the Renaissance music looked interesting and would liked to have seen more.
 
The calendar has been updated, and now will also Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Prince Carl Philip attend the Official Dinner (white tie) at November 18th at the Royal Palace. Previous were only the King and Queen put on the agenda.

No information whether Sofa Hellqvist will attend the dinner or not. This is natural, only engagements of members of the Royal Family are in the calendar. But would think that this is an good opportunity for Sofia to get used to this kind of events.
 
I love that dress. It reminds me a great deal of the one D of Cambridge wore in Hollywood a couple of years ago.

The king, queen, Victoria and Daniel attended this afternoon at the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences' and the Royal Academy of Letters' seminar 'Sweden and 200 years of peace', at the Bernadotte Library.

I don't think we need to analyse every single detail of their life or diary. Really very hard for them to have some privacy, eg we know about the come back of V&D from London over the week end. Is that really what matters most?

I like very much the dress of Victoria. It seems that she has a new style, we don't see any of older dresses/clothes, she used to wear again from time to time.

The king hosts 2 or 3 official dinners (representationsmiddag) every year.

So, no tiara for Sofia before she officially becomes a princess ? She looks nice BTW, but not very regal.

Sofia Hellqvist has joined the SRF this evening for an official dinner at the Royal Palace; she is the first royal fiancee to do so

I think it's great that Sofia is being eased into her royal duties and included in events like this. Next year, she will be participating as a full member of the royal family and will wear her royal Orders when the occasion calls for it.

It was rather cruel though to have Victoria and Silvia dressed as royalty while Sofia showed up as middle-class commoner. She didn't even match her escort, Prince Carl Philip, who was wearing his royal orders. I wonder if she felt out of place.
