Sweden is open-air concert country during the summer. Most towns and communities host numerous free concerts and festivals during the summer and most Swedish artists are out on the roads. I went to two free concerts yesterday myself and will go to one tonight.

When Victoria and Daniel attended at Lars Winnerbäck's concert with Anna and Mikael Westling Söderström on 10 August, they stopped also at Pedalling Pizza Palace, a pizza oven on wheels that serves fresh pizza all around Uppsala.
The owners, friends Leo Wattin, 19, and Jonathan Cohen, 18, talked to Svensk Damtidning about meeting Victoria and Daniel.
Unfortunately, there was no pizza for Victoria, who suffers from gluten intolerance.
Victoria, Daniel and their group stayed for a while and talked to Leo and Jonathan - but it took the pizza bakers a while to realize who they were talking to.
- We are not very knowledgeable, so we didn't realize we met them until afterwards, Leo tells and adds that the group was curious about their wood oven.
- I think they thought it was nice, they talked to us for a long time. A quarter to twenty minutes. We stood and talked about the oven, explains Leo and tells that Daniel took a pizza home with him.
- It felt a bit fun. Funny that they took our pizza home.
Leo and Jonathan got a picture with Victoria and describe the chat as pleasant.
- It was fun. She was nice, the whole bunch was nice. I thought you would know if you met them but they were just like us. They were very nice!

The royal family's summer holiday is starting soon.
Usually the royal family spends Midsummer at Solliden.
Victoria and Daniel will be in Stockholm on Midsummer Eve morning 23rd June, they attend at 10.00 at the inauguration of bronze sculpture "Kärlekspar på klippan" by Stina Persson, in connection of The Stockholm City Hall 100 years.
The King and Queen attend the celebration of 500 years of the Royal Guards on Saturday 24th June.

The organizer of Solliden Sessions concerts, Patrik Krall, tells that they have added a little variety, including Musse & Helium, which is apparently favourite of the younger audience. The royal family can influence regarding which artists are booked and Krall doesn't book anything that isn't spoken with them. Musse & Helium is fun because it suits many of those who are there, the grandchildren.
Last year, several of the royals appeared during various concerts, but how it will be this year remains to be seen. Krall doesn't know that and thinks the royals don't know that either. But they will probably try to attend as many as they can. Estelle and her cousins have a lot of exciting concerts to go to, if they want to. And there is a certain favorite that the royal kids long for a little extra. Krall knows that when Theoz gets there, they have said they have to see it. And that both the king and queen would like to see Niclas Strömstedt if they have time and it fits in the schedule.

Bosse Rappne, one of the participants at the Themed Gardens exhibition, told about his meeting with the King and Queen to Hänt Magazine:
Bosse runs Slottsträdgården Ulriksdal and has met the royal couple before. In Stockholm it is always more rigid, but at Solliden it was a nice atmosphere.
Bosse and some colleagues were building the greenhouse for a few days before the inauguration. And the King came by on the Palace grounds. He walked around in shorts and was relaxed. He greeted Bosse, was interested in what they were doing and asked a lot of things from Bosse and others. He was like an ordinary person.
The King seemed to appreciate the newly decorated greenhouse, but during the inauguration the Queen was also pleased with the result. Bosse tells that she was comfortable at once. "Oh, how nice," she said.
At Solliden the royal couple move freely around the land. They have their routines and take walks in the park before it opens and talk to the employees. That the royal couple can relax and be themselves is something that Bosse thinks is nice and pleasant for the royal couple.

Patrik Krall, Concert Producer for Solliden Sessions, says that the concerts attract audiences of all ages and they want a wide range so that they meet as many target groups as possible. A target group that was definitely hit by this year's artists are the youngest members of the royal family.
Krall tells that Estelle, Oscar and their cousins were really looking forward to a specific guest for the summer. He knows that some of the family's children were so happy that Theoz is coming. Theoz, 17, became better known through his appearances in Melodifestivalen 2022 and 2023 and has many followers among children. And among the younger ones in the royal family. Krall has made a promise to Estelle and her cousins on July 26 when Theoz comes to Solliden. He has promised a meeting and said that the children will get to meet Theoz, because it was a big wish. The concerts are organized together with the royal house and therefore they naturally have a lot to say.

Carl Philip and Sofia visited Gröna Lund with their children today.
It has been a week and a half since the Jetline roller coaster derailed at Gröna Lund. A 35-year-old woman died and nine people were injured, including three children.
On Wednesday, Gröna Lund opened the gates to the amusement park again.
Carl Philip and Sofia were seen along with Gabriel and Alexander enjoying the warm summer weather in the park and riding several attractions.
- Nice to meet you here, but I'm not going to comment on anything, says Carl Philip.
It has been a week and a half since the tragic event. What do you think about it?
- It is clear that we have thoughts with that person's family, but I do not intend to comment further, says Carl Philip.

Margareta Thorgen said to Expressen that Madeleine and her whole family are back in Sweden again after their trip to UK.
The whole family will go to Öland to celebrate Victoria's birthday next week, but when they will go is unclear.
- We do not say exactly when they will go to Öland, but they will be in Öland during the crown princess's birthday next week, says Thorgren.

Indeed, a lovely photo. The long hair is popular for younger boys in the more trendy households in Amsterdam too. The son on the right really is a spitting image of his mother btw.

Wonderful to see CP & Sofia's little family again – I love and always have loved their Instagram account! It's such a neat and independent way for them to share bits and pieces – whether public or personal – with the Swedes (and all us non-Swedes who like to follow along as well! :D).

In extension of that, hands down, I think CP & Sofia are the ones who navigate the role of "spare family" the very best and they don't get applauded enough for that.

The use of conjunction dismantles your preface. The family is beautiful but... Why "but"? Is it a bad thing – does it make the family less beautiful – to, as you perceive it, "look like a girl"?

What's more, I can't help but find it interesting that Alexander is the only one of the 3 boys wearing his long hair (a feature people, for some idiotic reason, seem to be irked about) up, yet somehow still is the one perceived to be "looking like a girl" :cool:

Personally, I think Alexander looks just like his father but with his mother's kind eyes. (The little ones, on the other hand, are all Sofia :D).

Daniel, Carl Philip and Chris went to the Societetsparken in Borgholm. They had their boys with them to play some mini golf.
- I have spoken to several people who saw the princes play in the park and they seemed to be happy to be on Öland and finally get to enjoy the summer, says Svensk Damtidning's editor-in-chief Johan T. Lindwall, who himself is on site at Borgholm.
Even queen Silvia's goddaughter and Victoria's friend Josephine Genetay was there with her son.

The first of the Solliden Sessions concerts is on Wednesday.

Svensk Damtidning is on site at Solliden and has spoken with Margareta Thorgren, who said that no members of the royal family attend the first Solliden Sessions Concert this evening, danish singer Sanne Salomonsen was performing. Ten chairs were put to the royal family members.
Thorgren answers briefly and concisely if she has any idea why the royal family is not there:

Daniel plays at Victoriagolfen at Ekerum Resort today, as he has every year since 2012. He plays with Swedish professional golfer Jesper Parnevik, organizer of the Victoria Days events, Stephan Rimér and ceo of Ekerum Resort Öland Magnus Lagerlöf.

Tonight, pop giant Niklas Strömstedt also plays at Solliden. Then it is not entirely unthinkable that we will see Victoria and Daniel in the audience, something the prince confirms when he answers "yes" to the question "maybe we see each other tonight?".
Then Daniel's teammate, the super cool Jesper Parnevik, slides onto the track, dressed in yellow and black. Daniel said that he has not played with Parnevik before, but Parnevik is the one who has the pressure on him... Daniel joked.
They wish each other luck and then it's time for Daniel's first stroke. He was not satisfied, but Parnevik is quickly there and cheers: But that's perfectly fine!

Prince Daniel's team was first out when it was time for the annual Victoria Golf at Ekerum Resort on Thursday morning. Already at 07:00 the prince was there and this time in the company of the golf pro Jesper Parnevik.

Daniel said to Svensk Damtidning that his golf went pretty well! It was great fun and a good atmosphere in the ball. And they played pretty well. This is a team competition, so he didn't count how he did.
His team partner - Jesper Parnevik, 58 - is also full of praise when we meet him outside the clubhouse:
- The prince did very well, I'm actually impressed! Started with a birdie on the first, and then we maybe had a slump in the middle, but on the whole it was a lot of fun!

Solliden Sessions concerts are not at Borgholm Castle, but at Solliden Palace's stage.
The court wrote to Hänt Magazine today in an email:
"At each Solliden session, chairs are placed so that members of the Royal Family can attend. It is not predetermined that members of the Royal Family attend every session".
But today the members of the royal family attended the concert, so the press don't have to ask again. Solliden Sessions do not require mandatory attendance for the royal family, but rather is about the individual members' opportunity to attend.

Victoria and Rio posed for a photo today, when they visited Hamncafeet in Påskallavik (Café at the harbour of Påskallavik). Påskallavik is in Oskarshamn, they probably had come with a boat.

When was the last time they published such a family photo? If it was prior to the reduction of the Royal House in October 2019, then it might be a consequence of the policy of treating Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine's children as private citizens. Otherwise, the most likely explanation would be that one or more family members will be unavailable (I wonder if the Bernadotte O'Neills' sudden decision to "postpone" their move to Sweden means they are spending less time in Sweden this summer).

The Royal family, except Victoria, Daniel and their children, were in Sandvik today, they arrived by the King's boat.
An eyewitness who was on the spot in Sandvik tells Svensk Damtidning about the drama that unfolded when the family was about to dock with their boat - with the king himself at the helm.
- When they got there, it was a bit crowded in the harbor because an 80-foot boat had arrived there and moored where they usually lie. Then it was windy so they had a little trouble mooring. They stood for 15 minutes trying to moor.
The family was therefore directed by the harbor master to get to a smaller fishing pier owned by the yacht club - and that's where the drama really started.
- Just when they had docked there, a small laser boat arrived and sailed out and capsized just behind their boat, or behind the Säpo boat really, and so it drifted towards the king's boat. It took some time before they managed to get that boat up. Then the whole royal family was involved, they stood there on the bridge and cheered.
The witness says that both the king and Carl Philip ran around to try to solve the problem, but that Chris did not seem inclined to help.
- He mostly stood and was in the way, laughs the witness.

Carl Philip and Sofia with their children and Madeleine and Chris (he isn't seen at the photos but Svensk Damtidning writes he was there) with their children attended the Solliden Sessions concert of Dolly Style and Theoz this evening. The concert was sold out.
We can see Theoz sitting with Alexander in front of the royals when Dolly Style was performing. Nicolas, Alexander and Julian had Theoz's fan shirts and Leonore and Adrienne Dolly Style's fan shirts.
Dolly Style is a Swedish girl group. The group features three girls that call themselves Molly, Holly and Polly. Always Molly, Holly and Polly although the members of the group have changed. The trio claims to originate from a "dollhouse in Dollyville". The group is inspired by the kawaii aesthetic from Japanese subcultures, such as fairy kei, gyaru and lolita. Theoz (Theodor Haraldsson), who had his 18th birthday last week, is a Swedish singer and actor. He started his career by posting videos to Musical.ly in 2016 with the name Theoz.

The Agility Cup at Solliden was a big success. There were about 200 dogs at the cup.
"We have spent the last 2 days at Solliden together with a lot of "agilists" (agility people) and also a moment with our Swedish king, who cut the ribbon at the opening of the competition. Great fun that he got there! Great arrangement and hopefully there will be a repeat!"

Professional golfer Jesper Parnevik played with Daniel at Victoriagolfen. And he has also played golf with Erik Karlsson, the Victoria Prize winner.
The golf pro Parnevik reviews Daniel as a player.
- We had a lot of fun and the prince played very well. Sweden should be proud of his golf, says Jesper Parnevik to Expressen and continues:

King Carl Gustaf and queen Silvia were welcomed by Kristina Hammer, the President of the Salzburg Festival (Salzburger Festspiele), when they arrived to the premiere of "Orfeo ed Euridice" at Grosses Festspielhaus. Cecilia Bartoli, the Laureate of the Polar Music Prize, sang the role of Orfeo.
