didnt really like the coat. the lower part is ok, in fact it's really nice, with an elegant leg length, but the neckline is far too much. she is a petite woman, can't wear those massive necklines... hope she changes her outfit for tonight :)
why didn't she curtsied princess lilian? felipe kissed her hand, but she just gave her hand...

imagine they are each others equals in protocol land

I think that Letizia is actually higher than Lillian as she is a crown princess.

thought about that too, would have looked embarresing to me, though, if she curtsied to a young woman at her age

After attending the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Cervantes Institute, the Princes of Asturias watched, already in the room of the hotel and on TV, the announcement of the new Pope, the until now German cardinal Joseph Ratzinger.

The Princes will come back to Madrid tomorrow morning.

http://actualidad.terra.es/articulo/html/av2256434.htm

The Princes of Asturias met Ayala, before the inauguration of the Cervantes Institude, where the Granadian writer will present tomorrow his last book, The Invention of the Quijote, in which it is appraised the evolution of his writing throughout his life.

“You are a boy” these were the words of the Prince to Ayala, whom Doña Letizia saluted with two affectionate kisses. “I am wonderful, yes. I’m trying to stretch the life the most I can”, said the writer.

Ayala had met Don Felipe in other previous occasions, and thought that it was the first time that he saw personally the Princess of Asturias, but she remembered him that they had a small encounter, months ago, in an act celebrated at the Royal Academy. In addition, Francisco Ayala was one of the guests to the wedding of La Princes, celebrated on May 22nd of the last year, at the Madrilenian cathedral of the Almudena.

Francisco Ayala feels very “satisfied, enchanted” by the fact that his name appears at the entrance of the library of the Cervantes Institute in Stockholm, where this afternoon he wanted to give a surprise to the Princes of Asturias, presenting them with a special edition of his book 'Lloraste en el Generalife'.

Why is Letizia wearing her coat inside when everyone else have taken theirs off? She has been very cold lately...

The Swedish royals weren't wearing coats because they didn't have to travel anywhere to greet Felipe and Letizia. They all live on or near the palace grounds. And if they didn't, they could've arrived some time before Felipe and Letizia's arrival and taken their coats off when they first arrived.

Perhaps her coat was part of her outfit for the day. Her purse seemed to pick up on the pink in the jacket.

What do you mean by this "She has been very cold lately..."? And how do you know that she was cold? Did you check her temperature? Maybe she just didn't get a chance to take off her jacket.

Felipe and Letizia in Sweden

Princes of Asturias, Felipe and Letizia, are in Stockholm to open a new Cervantes Institute. Spanish Princes visit to Swedish Royal Family and they were with King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Princess Victoria and Princess Lilian

Letizia seemed particularly friendly and affectionate in greeting Victoria. Nice to see that she might have a friend and ally in the future Queen of Sweden.

So is Victoria´s jacket. We´ve seen it before. And I´m sure the King´s outfit is probably recycled as well. Just don´t quote me on that...:)

Thanks for all of the great photos of the Spanish and Swedish Royals.

Easy there... I did not mean to offend anyone. However, Felipe wasn't wearing his coat so they must have hade a chance to take them off. Besides, you can see that she is wearing her white suit under the coat and I think it's a bit strange to greet people in your coat. And the part about her being cold lately, that was a joke. I was referring to another thread where someone said that Queen Sofia had offered Letizia her scarf outside the church at the mass for the pope.

i dont have nothing against recycled outfits, in fact i think it's better, as a really big part of the royal house of spain during the last year in this case was destined in clothes for the new princess, and i guess it's like that in most of the royal houses. but letizia has some really lovely outfits she never wore twice and she usually repeats the most boring ones... :( that's a pity....

There was a great expectation in the Swedish capital for the first visit of the Princes of Asturias, a sense of expectancy that can not be just due to the inauguration of the Cervantes Institute, but to the curiosity provoked among the Swedish people towards Doña Letizia, who the television considered yesterday, along with Queen Sofia, the most elegant woman of all Royalty.

The Princes arrived in the morning and went to the Grand Hotel, where they occupied the same "suite" where Camilo Jose Cela was lodged to receive the Nobel Prize de Literature. The Kings of Sweden, along with princess Victoria, princess Lilian and Christina de Magnusson, offered a private lunch at the Palace.

Soon, diplomats, academics, writers, translators and numerous personalities entered the headquarters of the new Cervantes Institute. The Princes of Asturias arrived accompanied by Princess Victoria and the ambassador of Spain in Sweden, Javier Garrigés.

Soon, Don Felipe pronounced words of gratefulness for the presence of Princess Victoria and emphasized the role played by Sweden in the universal Literature. He also evoked Queen Cristina, who, "besides learning Spanish, she had recommended the study of our language to her Court". On the other hand, the Crown Princess felt sorry for "not speaking Spanish, although the Institute will now help me to redeem that lack", and wished that the Cervantes "becomes a great place of encounter between the Spaniards and the Swedish people".

Thanks for the article Elsa! Who is Christina de Manusson?

Princess Christina Magnuson, sister of King Carl Gustav ;)

casareal.es put up another picture from yesterday:
