Thank you very much misshelen for posting all these wonderful, watermark free, pictures! They are all wonderful. It's been a wonderful visit by the Norwegians, both symbolically and looking at the activities they have carried out. Such a pity that Mette-Marit couldn't be here too.

I don't know where they are staying, it could be either at the ship or at the Guest Apartments at the Royal Palace. Maybe some Norwegian member knows (if your press has noted something about it)?

The Swedish Royal Family does not have a royal yacht or ship, only smaller yachts and boats in private ownership, they never make the kind of sail-visits that for ex the Danes do, they do their boating in private. The Norwegians and the Danes are the only ones left to have royal yachts, the British royal yacht Britannia was decomissioned many years ago now.

Victoria was the one to welcome them at the ship, there is always some of the royal or royals who go to do that, then they do the official welcoming ceremony together. It's always like that. When the Emperor and Empress of Japan came on a State Visit to Sweden in 2000 for example, one of the King's sisters, Princess Désirée Baroness Silfverschiöld, stepped in and welcomed them at the aiport.

More photos from the galla dinner (if they have been posted before, please remove the post!) It is from www.aftenposten.no they have series of photos of great occations.

http://www.aftenposten.no/spesial/bi...cle1107005.ece

In photo no. 4 Princess Madeleine (with a funny face) is chatting with the Norwegian minister of commerce Børge Brende, and in photo no. 5 CP Victoria is chatting with the Norwegian minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Pettersen. And photo no. 8 is just funny - I can't quite see what CP Victoria is trying to communicate to CP Haakon

I'm quite sure queen Silvia was wearing Natan, Mathilde of Belgium has worn similar outfits - although not 100 % alike, but you can see it's the same designer.

Silvia has been wearing Natan for many years, I believe she has/had a brother living in belgium and that's how she descovered the house.

Yes, of course. And I believe that Queen Margrethe has once said in an interview or something that she practiced her Swedish and leart a lot of the language during her holidays at Sofiero with her Swedish relatives.

Oh my, if one wouldn't know better - one could almost guess that those two were in love, looking at that photo!

Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will visit Astrid Lindgren’s Children’s Hospital, where they will receive a tour of the hospital, as well as information about the prominent Nordic research at the hospital
Did Victoria do this on her own or was it cancelled because Mette Marit didn´t came?

This Friday afternoon/evening, the royal couples accepted a few questions by the gathered press after they had finnished their visit at the Nobel Museum in the Old Town of Stockholm. (the following is a summary of what DN, SVD and TT writes about the press meeting)

One topic was "Katrina" King Carl XVI Gustaf didn’t want to speculate whether the greenhouse effects has anything to do with “Katrina”, but said that it’s an alarm clock to watch how a well organised society like the US can be affected by a natural catastrophe and...

- That there is a climate change going on in the world is obvious, and we should take the responsibility

- It is not possible to get an overview yet, it just grows, and it is very scary

- This is like the tsunami

- I follow it every day on TV, and it just grows. It will take a long time before the affected areas can be restored

King Carl Gustaf also objected towards the rumours that Rosendals Palace might be a future home for Crown Princess Victoria:
- It is a museum, and one can’t live in a museum

The theft at Rosendal Palace worries King Carl Gustaf.
- Some great pieces from the Karl Johan time were taken. We have review the security at the palaces again. It’s a hard act of balance; one wants open palaces where people can come and look, and not have to lock up the things in a bank vault. But the thefts are rough today, just look at the hits towards the money transports.

Queen Sonja was moved by the visit to Mälsåker Manor House earlier on Friday. Her brother was one of the 13 000 Norwegian young men who where trained in secret in Sweden for the resistance troops during WWII, as Norway was occupied.

Queen Sonja also has a sister who was in the Swedish Women's Voluntary Defence Service in Luleå, and said she was very moved by seeing Mälsåker and hearing some of them who were there tell about the times.
- It was nicely presented, and we have to be glad and thankful that Sweden could help us in this way.

King Carl Gustaf and King Harald were in a good mood and joked with each other while taking questions. When Harald was asked the question what his grandchildren has meant to him, King Carl Gustaf took a step back and exclaimed, “That is your problem”.

Friday evening ended with a reception and the Norwegian royal yacht “Norge”.
