As far as the royal ladies repeating dresses - I am wonder if they repeat them on purpose. Certainly they are aware of the world platform they have and both royal families have shown great environmental awareness. I wonder if this is one small way of sending a message not to live in such a materially decadent way as to wear new outfits on every occasion.
Just a thought....

Today King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, King Harald, Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Victoria visited the Mälsåker Manor House situated by the Lake Mälaren, near the town of Mariefred. The royals were orientated with information about “The White Busses”, the Norwegian resistance movement that were educated at Mälsåker during WWII, and the renovation work that is being carried out at the estate. Members of the Swedish Women's Voluntary Defence Service served traditional homemade pea soup cooked in a field kitchen from the 1940's.

Are the Norwegian royals staying in their ship rather than in the palace or guest house? Do the Swedish royals have ship like the Norwegian, Danish, British, etc?
How come the King & Queen were not there at their arrival, only Victoria?

Thank you very much misshelen for posting all these wonderful, watermark free, pictures! They are all wonderful. It's been a wonderful visit by the Norwegians, both symbolically and looking at the activities they have carried out. Such a pity that Mette-Marit couldn't be here too.

I don't know where they are staying, it could be either at the ship or at the Guest Apartments at the Royal Palace. Maybe some Norwegian member knows (if your press has noted something about it)?
The Swedish Royal Family does not have a royal yacht or ship, only smaller yachts and boats in private ownership, they never make the kind of sail-visits that for ex the Danes do, they do their boating in private. The Norwegians and the Danes are the only ones left to have royal yachts, the British royal yacht Britannia was decomissioned many years ago now.
Victoria was the one to welcome them at the ship, there is always some of the royal or royals who go to do that, then they do the official welcoming ceremony together. It's always like that. When the Emperor and Empress of Japan came on a State Visit to Sweden in 2000 for example, one of the King's sisters, Princess Désirée Baroness Silfverschiöld, stepped in and welcomed them at the aiport.

In photo no. 4 Princess Madeleine (with a funny face) is chatting with the Norwegian minister of commerce Børge Brende, and in photo no. 5 CP Victoria is chatting with the Norwegian minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Pettersen. And photo no. 8 is just funny - I can't quite see what CP Victoria is trying to communicate to CP Haakon

Rosalyn and GrandDuchess,
I think the royals stay at her ship "Norge". The royals came yesterday evening in gala-dress from board the "Norge" and the swedish royals go this evening for private dinner on board the ship "Norge (look to the pictures, you can see it).
Thanks to posting all the lovely pictures from this day.
