what about the rest of the family?

The whole royal family leaves in the evening from the Royal Palace at a cortege of two carriages to Skansen, where is the national celebration. SVT will send it.
After the Skansen event the Royal Family returns to the Royal Palace, where they will host a reception.
During the years it has been a tradition, that some of the "royal children" will open the gates to the Palace in the morning, last year Carl Philip and Madeleine opened them.

These little trio are lovely to watch. I love Estelle's dress and patent shoes. They remind me of my first shoes, which my mum still has. :D

My head is exploding with all the cuteness!!! Hey Victoria and Daniel, can I borrow Estelle for a few days, her cuteness might just cheer me up?

So in love with this little family! You can tell they absolutely adore each other and Estelle is one loved little girl! Can't get enough of that sweet face.

has the court announced if Mr'Oneill will be participating in the festivities? They had enough time to answer

I see upcoming caption contests in the future... There's plenty of funny captions to be had...

Madeleine's fine problem has really put the royal family into action, these family photos are really surprising. They are trying to do crisis management before the wedding.
Madeleine has totally wrong shoes, she always uses high heels with Sverigedräkten, unlike Victoria and the queen.

Live on SVT play now

16000 people were in Skansen at the celebration.

I'm doing a lot of stuff and trying to watch this too.

Lovely family photo's and no rain this year!

Is there a rule about when you can wear the ... hat (am I right when I say it's called a lufva?), or has Madeleine just opted not to wear one? The Swedish national costume is so lovely, makes me all kinds of jealous that we don't have a national costume here in Denmark (or well, I'm 1/4 Greenlandic, so I consider the beautiful Greenlandic national costume 'mine' too ).

You wear the hätta (the thingy on Victoria and Silvias heads) when you are married. Madeleine isn't.. yet :)

Nice to see two people in love holding hand, but i wish Madeleine and Chris were the couple to do that and not V and D this close to the wedding.

If here is people from Finland, YLE TV Fem shows this program in the night at 03.00 finnish time and also tomorrow at 11.00.

this probably has already been explained, but do the men not have or why do they not wear a national costume?

Ohh my god, I am dying of cuteness here!! Estelle is just the funniest, cutest royal kid there is and she is even 1000 times cuter with her little national costume and without the stupid bow in her hair

How lovely to see all the family together, also love the pictures of Carl Philip with Estelle and the family photos and the one of Chris kissing Madeleine's hand (not a big fan of those two normally)

The king in his speech to Madeleine and Chris
The summer can also be time for infatuation, a time when you might find love. That is also when many people choose to get married.
One of these this year is our youngest daughter - Princess Madeleine - who just in two days marries her fiancé Christopher O'Neill.
Seeing You, our daughter to get married, fills us both with joy and memories. Happiness that you found love and someone to build your future with. Memories of all that we have experienced with you, from your first glance, and your first laugh - until you are today.
Perhaps it is something that all parents feel? And that reminds us of what life after all is about. For what would we be without our loved ones. Without the security and togetherness that our families give us.
It can be about our children, but also for our parents, siblings, or the one we have chosen to share our lives with. In today's society, it is, for many of your friends and family in a broader sense. We know that without them life would become both emptier and less rich.

The king in his speech to Victoria and Daniel on the National Day 2010, before the wedding
This summer we will witness another very important event in the Bernadotte dynasty's history. Our oldest daughter is getting married. When you look at her and her fiancé briefly you understand that they seem quite satisfied and happy about this decision. As parents, the Queen and I feel an overwhelming joy and warmth at this time.
However, it is also Sweden's heir to the throne, Crown Princess Victoria, who will marry Daniel Westling. Adapted into a new era, the tradition that was founded in Örebro, 200 years ago.
