For every traditional costume there is a male version even in the regional ones. So far i have seen prince daniel wearing one from okelbo, but the males of the royal family never wear it. However, i don't know why, maybe somebody else does.

Maybe the king has decided that he doesn't wear a traditional costume, and it would look strange if Carl Philip and Daniel would wear one, when they are with the king.

He has surely been working hard ever since the marriage. I'd say the Swedes have a real prince of a man in him

Well, the 'rules' of wearing it are actually made by the current King and Queen themselves because the National Costume does not have a long history.
It was first designed in 1903 and did not become the official National Costume until Queen Silvia herself made it popular and established it to be worn, which was as recently as 1983.

It's unusual that men dress in a traditional folk dess in Sweden, it's usually only those who are involved in playing and dancing to folk music and among the Samic people that men also wear the folk/traditional dress.

I have only seen Carl Philip in one traditional costume, I believe in 1986 or 1987 when he was a child rest of the time I have only ever seen him in suits. Which I think is fine.
When Victoria had been to the first in 1983 she wore an entirely different costume every year until late 1980s when she wore the same as her mother. I've never been sure of the reason but each costume she wore was adorable. Madeleine I have only ever seen in the traditional yellow and blue costume as a child up to current.

Didn't Victoria wear the headpiece when she wasn't married?
