Haga Slott is the work of Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. His good friend Gustaf Persson Natt och Dag (portrait) was master of the medieval castle Haga, and was convinced by Tessin to build a contemporary grand manor in its place. Construction was completed in 1670.
Before the new manor house was built, the castle was home to, among others, the man who would be King of Sweden three separate times during the fifteenth century, Karl VIII Knutsson. |
