I do not know if this is the right place to share this but I kept track of the number of work days that the Swedish Royal Family participated (and were publicly known about) as well as the cost of (known) clothing for the year.

Year End Review — Swedish Royal Fashion

Margareta Thorgren told in the beginning of 2017, that Daniel would concentrate on the children and family and work less in 2017, the court didnt want to call it paternity leave though. And when only the work days are listed, it doesn't tell how much the royal really spends at the work event. For instance, Daniel had six days with the visits of Prince Daniel's Fellowship entrepreneurial programme. These days last six-seven hours plus travelling. That is totally different than a half hour audience at the Royal Palace. It isn't easy to do a list that would really tell how much the royals work so that it would be totally right and do justice for the members of the royal family who work most. The court could also do a better job and list all work events to their calendar, for instance some of Daniel's events with Prince Daniel Fellowship and GEN-PEP aren't listed at the calendar. The press counts on the days listed at the calendar, the court could do a lot of good for the royal family's image by listing all the work events at the calendar.

Expressen's royal expert Karin Lennmor at her chronicle today:
Victoria is stronger than Zlatan - isn't she?
Who is the biggest - Victoria or Zlatan? Who really contributes most to Sweden?
Is the royal family, with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel in the lead, as valuable as swedish brands like Ikea, Absolut Vodka and Volvo?
The royal house makes huge benefit for Sweden, no matter what you think about the monarchy, whether you are a republican or royalist.
I have traveled a lot with the king and the queen and know how important they are for Sweden, especially abroad. Our royal house works as a tool for marketing Sweden.
The secret of monarchy's super value is that there aren't so many countries with kings and queens. There are many in the world, heads of state and business leaders who also want to sunbathe in that shine. The royals give a little extra flow!
It may be hard to compare people like Silvia or Victoria with famous brands such as Ikea or H & M.
- Instead, I think that you should equal them with Zlatan, says brand expert Anna Klingspor.
Zlatan got about SEK 15 million for a Volvo commercial. The king drives also a Volvo, he doesn't get any money for it but hopefully gives good PR for the car both at home and abroad. Important for Swedish business.
It is important to take care of its brand. The Bernadottes have succeeded over the years ... so-so, but still okay.
- Victoria and Daniel are good examples, they have really succeeded, they are doing a brilliant job for Sweden, says Anna Klingspor.
How do you take care of your brand?
- By being "clean and tidy", by being visible, knowing what you are doing and being well prepared, says Klingspor.
It is difficult to evaluate the royal family's work in money, but a good example is Crown Princess Victoria's wedding.
The city of Stockholm got a billion SEK in extra income that weekend when tens of thousands of tourists came to spend money on hotels, restaurants and commerce.
There is a republican idea of privatizing the royal house - sell out the king, queen, Victoria and Daniel ...
Doesn't it sound strange? I want our royal house to spread both shine and a lot of PR for Sweden. And I think they are generally doing it well.
Extra golden star to Victoria and Daniel. You're as strong, if not stronger than Zlatan!
There is a poll in the end of the article:
Who does the most for Sweden?
Zlatan, he's an icon.
Crown Princess Victoria, she is a good role model.
No big difference, I think both do as much for Sweden.

The Swedish and Danish royal families have borrowed clothes to Sven-Harry's Art Museum's exhibition "Secrets of Couture", 26th January - 2nd April.

Sven-Harry’s art museum opens the winter-spring 2018 season with the exhibition Secrets of Couture. This exhibition highlights the mythical haute couture fashion and its role in today's fashion climate, and also looks at the possible future orientation of couture. Many garments that have been worn by prominent Swedish women, arts celebrities and pioneers in their fields (from Selma Lagerlöf to the permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy, Sara Danius) will be featured. A centrepiece of the exhibition is the gown Sara Danius wore at the Nobel ceremony in 2015, created by Pär Engsheden.
With pieces borrowed from private collections, international fashion houses and the Swedish and Danish royal families, the exhibition seeks to give an overview of the history and future of the secret world of couture. One of the basic ideas for the exhibition is to raise issues on the relevance of couture in today's fashion climate, and how traditional craftsmanship can be combined with future demands on sustainability and new materials. This is explored with young designers, and especially in a collaboration with the Beckmans College of Design. Under the auspices of Pär Engsheden, eleven students have created outfits that give an idea of how future designers interpret couture as a craft and expressive medium.
The exhibition was designed by a team that has worked for three years on the conceptual structure and contents. The exhibition's creative directors are Pär Engsheden and Ingrid Giertz-Mårtenson. Ulrika Kyaga is a guest curator and editor of the exhibition catalogue.
Pär Engsheden is a designer and has been established for many years as Sweden's foremost representative of the art of couture. He is also the head of fashion studies at the Beckmans College of Design.

#OTD in 1818 the former Jacobin Jean Baptiste Bernadotte ascended the thrones of Sweden & Norway following the death of his adoptive father Karl XIII thereby founding the House of Bernadotte.
Quite ironically though the youngest of the reigning houses of Europe it is after the Liechtensteins the house who in agnatic descent has been on a throne the longest.
The bicentennial will be celebrated later today by the Royal family and other members of the Bernadotte family at the Royal Palace with music, lectures, speeches & a reception.

Margareta Thorgren said to Expressen:
- Easter is celebrated by the royal family, but it is a private matter and nothing we comment on more closely.
Does the whole family gather together at Easter or what does it look like?
- I have no information about that.
Thorgren said also that the whole royal family celebrates Easter in Sweden.
- Easter is celebrated, privately, in Sweden.
And the royal family has office work before their first public events after Easter.

Victoria and Daniel have often spent Easter in Ockelbo.
According to the calender now the king has work events on 6th April, the queen, Victoria and Daniel on 7th April.

The royal court has published it's Annual Report 2017 on their website. The Report tells among other things that the king and queen had a total of about 3,400 guests at the various events. The crown princess couple also conducted official representation with over 360 invited guests.

How many princes and princesses can there be in Sweden?

Hur många prinsar och prinsessor tål Sverige_ _ Karin Lennmor _ Expressen
Translation

Taking into account Carl Gustaf's children and grandchildren, I think it is acceptable to have ten, or, in the future, maybe eleven Princes/Princesses of Sweden (HRHs). If, however, Carl Philip's and Madeleine's grandchildren also become princes/princesses, then we start to see an unacceptable inflation in the number of royals. In other words, at some point there has to be a cut. The recent Belgian royal decree limiting the use of the title of "Prince of Belgium" is a good model to follow, i.e. neither too restrictive as in the Netherlands or Spain, nor too generous as the current Swedish system where anyone in the line of sucession is legally a Prince/Princess of Sweden.

Having said that, it must be pointed out that the Swedish RF is not particularly expensive for the taxpayers. SEK 139 million is slightly under US$ 16 million , which is low compared to other monarchies like the Netherlands or the UK, and, before anyone raises the issue, that sum already includes security, tranportation, and maintenance of the royal palaces as far as I understand, so the Royal Court is not hiding any expenses that are charged to other government departments.

The Swedish Committee of the Constitution have in an article in Svenska Dagbladet declared their intention to, among other things, look over & reintroduce parts of the the Royal Swedish Orders of which some where abolished in 1975 & some can since then only be handed out to foreign citizens.
It's their voiced intention to reintroduce those abolished & reform the ones in present use. The same goes for the Royal medals.
It's also the committee's intention to look over what challenges a fast growing Royal house has and eventually even clarify which of those in the line of succession who will be expected to perform public duties and receive public funding for doing so. The committee states very clearly that it stands behind the monarchy but the to maintain the legitimacy of the office it has to be reformed.
In my mind the result could be some rule about only kids of monarch and heir gets funding for performing duties

The legitimacy and trust of the Royal House are at risk of being undermined if more and more members are to act as official representatives of Sweden. An investigation will therefore analyze the royal house's commitments, as well as the general flag days and the public reward system with orders, medals and other awards, the representatives write.
But all hope is not out for the royal house.
In the article, politicians insist that they stand behind the Torekov agreement, which meant that the monarchy was preserved while the monarch was deprived of all formal political power and instead, as a primary task, was to represent Sweden and be a national symbol, together with other members of the royal house.
Now, however, the debaters want to limit the right of the royal family princes and princesses to represent the country.
- In several other monarchies in Europe have been discussed and are discussed whether it is justified to demarcate that circle of members of the royal family who are expected to perform official duties and who thus claim to be able to access to measures financed through the state budget. It is reasonable that such a discussion is also conducted in Sweden, the politicians write.
The Swedish Royal House has gained significantly more members in recent years. It now consists of 15 people, of whom 11 have the right to inherit the throne.
The politicians believe that the Bernadotte family will be breeding further.
- In the next generation thereafter you can expect even more legitimate people. Thus, if all these people act as official representatives of Sweden, it is a relatively large group of persons who would run activities funded by the Parliament's apanage to the court. There would be a risk of undermining the royal house's legitimacy and trust, the politicians write.
Kungafamiljens apanage hotas _ Stoppa Pressarna

From the court side it is said that it is good that the frames for the form of government and monarchy are reviewed.
- The clearer the frames of the form of government and monarchy are, the better. This is an initiative aimed at strengthening the cohesion of our society, which is already in line with how we work at the royal court. In the center we have the Head of state, Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle, the other members of the royal family are there to support the Head of state and his work, said Margareta Thorgren, Director of the press department.
The Swedish Committee of the Constitution also sees that the flag days only apply to the birthday and name day of the Head of state and heir to the throne. This would, in turn, mean that, for example, Prince Daniel can not get a raised flag when he turns years.
On the other hand, one would like the investigation to consider whether one or more new flag days should be introduced.
Margareta Thorgren believes that the Swedish flag is an important symbol for Sweden, and argues that this question is also linked to the issue of clearer frames about who represents the royal house nationally.
- It is the Head of state in which the whole monarchy and the form of government is based. The clearer we refine these questions the clearer it becomes for our whole society and there is nothing negative, she says, and continues:
- The Committee of the Constitution also writes that they want to do this investigation in consultation with the Royal Court, which we welcome.

I think the politicians have miscalculated the expectations of the public. The criticisms of Chris O'Neill (and Princess Madeleine to a lesser degree), for example, are evidence that, in Sweden, public trust in the royal house is undermined when people perceived as members of the royal family do not act as official representatives of Sweden and instead lead their lives as private citizens.

Kungahuset växer – nu vill KU begränsa anslaget _ Kungligt _ Expressen

But Prince Daniel's birthday is not currently a flag day, is it?

Expressen writes that Carl Philip and Sofia and Madeleine have got a lot of followers with their Instagram accounts.
- There is a lot of interest which we in the information department notice and are happy about, says Margareta Thorgren, director of the Information and Press Department.
There has been speculation about if an account for Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, and later for the King and Queen are on their way.
But now the court denies this.
- No, they will not have their own presence on Instagram according to the plans we have now. There are reasons for that, says Margareta Thorgren.
Why?
- The court already has a comprehensive social media presence, on Facebook and Instagram. There we tell about the work of the Head of State and also the future Head of State. It is a strategy we will continue with, says Thorgren.
The reason why the princess couple and Madeleine have their own accounts is thus able to refine the information at the royal house's official accounts.
- The prince couple and princess Madeleine support the Head of State and the Crown Princess through their commitment, says Thorgren.

Is it the first time that Jonas and Chris meet each other or did they meet before?

They have both been at the wedding of Dag and Natalie Werner in August 2011 and at the wedding of Caroline Leksell and Graham Cooke in November 2012. Caroline was today one of the bridesmaids with Madeleine. Jonas and Chris attended both also at Cristina Stenbeck's 40th birthday party last August.

Gustav's brother Didrik sang in the church together with pop star Erik Hassle. And they were accompanied on guitar by Gustav's little brother Sebastian.
As an introductory music, Lussan and Gustav had Pachelbel's beautiful and popular Canon. Michael Bjerkhagen told that he was looking forward to the wedding.

At the program was also solo songs "Making memories of us" and "Faithful" (and to that, the Gustav's brother has written both text and music!).

Among the upper crust it seems to be the norm. Besides them I'd say suit or black tie for the men with cocktail dresses or evening dresses for the ladies is the most common.

It is difficult to believe that Fadi el Khoury can design such horrible dresses than the bridesmaid dresses were.
