A Swedish Royal Christmas (Traditions, Christmas Cards, Photo Sessions)

Svensk Damtidning:
Christmas photos from Victoria and Daniel and Carl Philip and Sofia. But not a single word from Madeleine. Now many are wondering why the Florida Princess is not showing up.
Not a greeting, not a photo. It was a Christmas far away from the public light for Princess Madeleine. While the Crown Princess family visited Norrmalm's police station on Christmas Eve and Carl Philip and Sofia shared a lovely family picture, December 22, Madeleine and Chris kept quiet.
According to reports to Svensk Damtidning, the Princess Couple celebrated with Chris's family in the English countryside. Madeleine's sister-in-law Tatiana d'Abo's nobleman John Henry d'Abo lives as you know on a 1700-century goods near Cambridge. A gigantic property that has become a focal point for the O'Neill family. Mom Eva is often there and children Leonore, Nicolas and Adrienne love to run around on the big estates.
But now the schools have started in Miami and the family has traveled back to their American lives.
How have they been? It knows only the innermost circle. This is the first Christmas that we have not heard from Madeleine. The Princess is otherwise a frequent user of social media and is happy to share photos of the children. But during these festive days, the Swedish people have neither seen any photos nor received any Christmas greetings.
There have been many speculations on why Madeleine, who is a princess of Sweden, has not talked about - or shown photos of - her Christmas celebration. Some have, of course, drawn links to the king's decision to shrink the royal family on titles, earlier this fall. And maybe the princess wanted this Christmas to be celebrated in private. The media pressure following the King's decision has been a huge one and perhaps Chris and Madeleine wanted this leave for themselves.

The Crown Princess Family's Christmas Greeting video from 2014 has been watched 2 million times.
It is the most watched video at Kungahuset's Youtube.

SVT tells at their press info about the programs during Christmas, that the King's traditional Christmas speech is broadcast at SVT Play and SVT1 on Friday 25th December at 19.45.
The King gave his first Christmas speech on radio in 1972, then as Crown Prince. The King's Christmas speech, at first addressed to Swedes abroad, has since 1973 been a tradition in Radio Sweden. In 2007 the King's Christmas speech was for the first time also broadcast on SVT.

Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Estelle and Oscar wishes everyone a happy First Sunday of Advent from Haga Palace.
"Today is the First Sunday of Advent. Advent means arrival & hope - something that feels especially important this year".
And yes that is Oscar in a gingerbread man costume.

Those are lovely video and pictures.

Victoria is right, Advent is the season to hope, which is very needed right now.

Lovely pictures! Wasn't it last year that Estelle and Oscar were dressed in white for this occasion?

EDIT:
Sorry, my bad. I confused it with St. Lucia. And it was two years ago that Estelle and Oscar wore white.

Can't wait for St. Lucia's pictures and their Christmas video!

I love how they bring the children into the spirit of Advent by letting them help with the decorations. I think Estelle's heart-shaped wreath with its Angel on top looks wonderful hanging from the mantleplace.

Lovely video to start off the Christmas season with the royals :flowers:

And its great that the kids have a hand in the decorating. Makes it more special.

Such lovely photos! I love that Oscar was dressed up. I think the photo of Estelle showing off her wreath is my favourite. The dog seems to have settled into the family nicely. ?

:previous: This is the loveliest family. So glad to have watched their Advent video, time to prepare for Christmas.

I like the red amaryllises on the fireplace mantel. I like Prince Oscar's outfit. The video is fabulous.

So no photos of Estelle and Oscar at St. Lucia day this year.

But it was cute to see Carl Pillip, Sofia and their boys. Lovely video ;) Gabriel is a very curious boy :D

What an immensely warm photo! I would love to be a fly on the wall. And I think it's good that they alternate between the families (even though I know the main focus is on the CP family).

Lovely little video, nothing boys like more than playing with fire! Seeing the card above from 1988 I gasped when I saw CP whose son, Alexander is a spitting image!

Lovely video of Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel to mark St Lucia's day.

The Room was so festive with the fire and stockings.

What lovely video. These two little boys are just the cutest. Pregnancy becomes Sofia. Every one looked good. Like the decoration.

Lovely video. The room really does feel homey especially with the fire :flowers:

Missed seeing Estelle and Oscar for St Lucia's day but nice to see this family.

What does the third stocking say on it?

It's their dog, I think the name is Biri or Siri.
