The Kings will preside tomorrow at the delivery of the National Prizes of the Sport

The Kings will preside tomorrow to the midday in the Royal Palace at the ceremony of delivery of the National Prizes of the Sport 2006, which they distinguished in its maximum categories to the tennis player Rafael Nadal, tricampeón of Roland Garros, and to pilot Laia Sanz, champion of the world of trial seven times consecutive.

Forthwith, which there will attend, between others, the minister of Education and Science, Mercedes Cabrera, and the secretary of State for the Sport, Jaime Lissavetzky, will reward also to the Spanish selection of basketball, to the ex-president of the Olympic International Committee , Juan Antonio Samaranch, to the player of the Football Club Barcelona Anderson Luis Souza "Deco" and to the Agency EFE.

The Kings and the Princes of Asturias move their condolences to the relatives of the deceased military men

The Kings of Spain, Don Juan Carlos and Dona Sofía, and the Princes of Asturias, Don Felipe and Dona Letizia, sent this night telegrams to the families of the deceased military men this evening in the south of The Lebanon to show their condolences before the tragic result of the assault suffered today by a Spanish convoy, informed Europa Press a speaker of the Royal House.

Likewise, the King and the Prince also sent a telegram to the minister of Defense, Jose Antonio Alonso.
 
Birthdaycelebrations in Norway

HM Queen Sofia and Infanta Elena, the Duchess of Lugo,with her husband Jaime de Marichalar, Duke of Lugo will travel to Norway next week to represent Spain at the boat cruise during the 70th Birthdaycelebrations of HM Queen Sonja of Norway.

Thanks so much for all the pictures Lula. Well maybe the Queen was tired and stayed at home resting. They've had such an extremely busy schedule the last couple of days! It's great Cristina was there to accompany her father though. Isn't the Caixa the bank Cristina works at?

According to Hola, the reason for Queen Sofia's absence is that she got hurt and is resting as recommended by her doctor.

The King and the Queen preside at a meeting with the members of the Patronage of Colleges of the United World and support a later Hearing with the scholars in the Palace of La Zarzuela

The Infante Don Carlos, as President of the Foundation, and Jaime de Marichalar, Duke of Lugo as member of the Foundation Winterthur, came also to the act.

It is a bit strange visit. I have just seen it, and in the television they said that it was yesterday, when the Queen was in the morning in Palma, and there was neither any act nor family celebration.:ermm:

It was said that The Queen was in Palma yesterday. I thought it starnge that we didn't get any photos of her. Well, perhaps we still will.

In the video, I noticed that Cristina curtsied to her mother, does she usually do that on private visits? :neutral:
