The Kings will preside at the meeting of the Patronage of the Institute Cervantes in Alcala of Mowing meadows Madrid, 10-10-2005 The Patronage of the Institute Cervantes will meet this Monday, under the presidency of honor of the Kings, in Alcala de Henares(Madrid), city of Michael's birth of Cervantes. According to the Instituo Cervantes, the patronage will be informed by the director, César Antonio Molina, on the activities developed in the academic course 2004-2005 for the promotion of the Spanish language and of the coofficial languages, and the diffusion of the culture of the Spanish-speaking countries. Molina will realize also of the projects that are in march and the plans of performance foreseen. To the meeting there is foreseen that there represent the prime minister, Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, as well as the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Michael Angel Moratinos; of Education and Science, Maria Jesus San Segundo, and of Culture, Carmen Calvo. The act, which will begin to midday, Jose Caballero will celebrate in the former Hospital of Santa Maria the Rich, future headquarters of the Museum of Contemporary Art. Between other employers, there will come the director of the Royal Spanish Academy, Víctor García of the Shell, the writers Mario Vargas Llosa and Fernando Savater, the painter Eduardo Arroyo, the composer Christopher Halffter and the rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Juan Ramon de la Fuente. After the meeting, the Kings will invite the employers to a luncheon to which also there are invited the ambassadors of the Latin-American countries credited in Madrid. (..) |

Don Juan Carlos, who presided at the meeting accompanied of Dona Sofía, of the Infanta Elena and of the prime minister, Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, in the former hospital Santa Maria the Rich one in Alcala of Mowing meadows, indicated that the XXIst century will be that of the ' diffusion of the Spanish in the world '.
