She did wear lots of eye catching pieces (mostly from Mango), but she also wore lots of classic, demure grey (different shades of grey) and black from Varela. Overall, I don't think her clothes were more eye sore than the clothes of bright color, crazy patterns from Natan in general. Clothes and appearances have always been the main interests of the tabloids. In the old days of Charles and Diana, Charles made a good speech, but the main interest of the press was still Diana's clothes, her hat . Now with the new media internet, Zarzuela can promote the work easily themselves, it doesn't take much to have a nice website, a YouTube Channel, an average 30 years old knows how to post articles, pictures or videos.

La Princesa Letizia presidirá el Congreso Nacional de Mujeres Empresarias en la capital tinerfeña - Canarias - Canarias - ABC.es
Princess Letizia Ortiz has agreed to chair the honorary committee of National Congress of Women Entrepreneurs, organized by the Association of Business and Professional Women of Tenerife (AMEP), which will take place from 20 to 23 May in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

This is great news. Is this her first time to chair an honorary committee?

Not, alone or with the Prince, the Princess has been President of Honor of many activities. Many of these presidencies are a way of supporting concrete acts like congresses, anniversaries ... it is not anything permanent, and when it is possible or they are interested very much in the topic they go to an official act or they receive the group or the organizers in audience.

Thanks for the pictures, Letizia looked nice. I thoough this was an event where she would be wearing the black headpiece some of the royals wear and a blakc dress.
Her suit was pretty and flattering.
Do we know why she was choosen for this event & why her and not Felipe? Do female royals take part usually in such an event?

Dazzling, they wear the black dress and the "mantilla" when they are godmothers of a military group, this it is a tradition of the women of the Royal Family.

This act is different, is the oath of flag of the new Royal Guards, is the act that the military realize on having finished the studies and to join the army. The normal thing, is that the King or the Prince preside this acts because they are military. But with the Royal Guard there is an exception and the Queen, the Princess or the Infantas can preside this act.

The decision of the House of the King of which she presides this act in solitarily, is one more step in her role as Princess. In this act she is accompanied of the highest authorities of the House of the King and of the Army.

I like her today's classic look.

I agree. She looks very nice. I love the white suit and how the lapels become a rose. She carried off this engagement very well indeed!!

She looks so sweet and poised. The suit was elegant and bright. I enjoy seeing so many instances where Letizia dresses herself for an occasion and yet shows once again prowess. She has taken hand of her standing as the Queen of the land to be and carries herself candidly and sophisticatedly. I love all she does to represent her people and I'm glad she lives to see us go through life full of joy. I only wish her and her family breadth of beauty as I feel she wishes us as well. Thanks Lula for painting this forum with so many captures of our Spanish Royal's life. You are all a blessing.

Good to see her "flying solo". I don't know why, maybe is the new nose or something but she always looks kinda sad to me

El traspié de Letizia.
The princess had an accident during the swearing of allegiance of the Royal Guard, where the end of the act is finished breaking one of the heels of her letizia roses.
La princesa perdió el equilibrio y casi acaba en el suelo.
The princess lost her balance and nearly killed on the ground.
