In Spain March 19 is the day of the father, for the catholic tradition it coincides with the day of San Jose (father of Jesus). It is one day in honor of the parents and the children do gifts to them. Normally when the children go to the college they do drawings and manual works for their fathers, and already when they become old another type of gifts are done.
I imagine that in this case she will have been Letizia who has prepared something for the Prince.
The day of the mother, it is celebrated on the first Sunday of May, because in the catholic tradition May is the month of the Virgin.
