S.A.R. Prince Felipe today presided over in Pastrana (Guadalajara) the act of presentation of the first Report of the Observatory of the Sustainability in Spain (HE DARES), organism that is born with the intention to produce excellent information "that it helps us to obtain a more sustainable development" allows to generate more prosperity and quality of life with smaller use of resources and minor environmental degradation. In any case, the Prince aimed that there are "important signals of hope" because the report shows the margins available to act and declared that the report invites to reflect and to ask to us on the best form to explore and to advance in so important land for the future of the Spaniards. For that reason, "our scientific and technological economic effort must be enabled to apply creative and sustainable solutions that allow to maintain and to extend the well-being level doing it compatible with a use responsible for our resources and with a always careful respect of our natural surroundings". This report on the situation and perspective of progress in the matter of sustainability will produce it annually recently created Observatory of the Sustainability in Spain (IT DARES), with seat in the University of Alcala, that initiated its activities in February of 2005, like result of an agreement between the Ministry of Medio.ambiente, the General Foundation of the University of Alcala and the Foundation Biodiversity, informs the Ministry.
