The Prince of Asturias emphasized today the social work of the Foundation 'Company and Society', whose partners dedicated, just in 2004, more than 180 million euros, to face enterprise 'as an opportunity to improve the well-being of those who are close to them’.

Don Felipe closed with his speech the annual meeting of the Foundation, that gathers in Madrid near one hundred companies, to which he transmitted all the support and congratulation, in his own name and the one of the Princess, who could not attend the meeting.

Don Felipe stressed that economy and social responsibility are 'inseparable, because they can only be understood together. The economic development can not take place, if it does not include the social dimension, among which it is developed; and the society, on the other hand, cannot develop in a balanced way, if not among an adequate economic surrounding’, he emphasized.

The motto of this Foundation summarizes, according to Don Felipe, the key idea of these companies, which are assuming more and more their social responsibility. Don Felipe added that, with these initiatives, problems are solved, by developing the social welfare and the enterprise creativity, in so many different scopes, as those of education of young people, women, immigrants, prisoners and others.

The Prince of Asturias inaugurated today in Bordeaux the two pavilions of Spain in VINEXPO 2005, where Spain is represented by more than 156 companies.

At his arrival to VINEXPO, Don Felipe inaugurated the Spanish pavilions, and after almost two hours of route, the Prince shared a lunch with Spanish owners of wine cellars. During the lunch with French authorities and the Spanish producers, Don Felipe stressed that 'our warehouses have made a considerable effort to incorporate the technological innovation, not only in the vines, but also in the processes of elaboration and commercialization'. The results are visible: Spain exports wines, in a total of more than 1500 million euros.

The Prince of Asturias, who was wearing the necktie of Madrid 2012, emphasized that the Spanish producers have known to conciliate tradition with innovation, and praised the work of the producers and owners of wine cellars, for their way towards the excellence of Spanish wines.

It was initially predicted that the Princess de Asturias accompanied Don Felipe, but a slight illness caused by her pregnancy advised her stay in Madrid.

Before leaving Bordeaux, the Prince will also meet the Spanish owners of wine cellars, to know more about the sector. His presence in this fair responds to the interest of the Crown of endorsing the Spanish productiveness.

The wine sector supposes more than 30000 jobs and plays an important role in the environmental conservation.

Prince Don Felipe trusts that the Observatory of the Sustainability in Spain obtains a more sustainable development the Prince excused the absence for Princess de Asturias in Pastrana (Guadalajara)"for reasons that will include/understand" PASTRANA (GUADALAJARA), 21 Jun. (EUROPE PRESS)

S.A.R. Prince Felipe today presided over in Pastrana (Guadalajara) the act of presentation of the first Report of the Observatory of the Sustainability in Spain (HE DARES), organism that is born with the intention to produce excellent information "that it helps us to obtain a more sustainable development" allows to generate more prosperity and quality of life with smaller use of resources and minor environmental degradation. To the act of presentation of this report of Spring 2005, that was celebrated the Ducal Palace of the locality, future seat of DARES, was predicted the attendance also of the Princess de Asturias, whose absence excused the Prince "for reasons that will include/understand". On the matter, sources of the Real House indicated that Princess de Asturias had own indisposiciones of her state but that everything ran with total normality.

Prince, which he gave the enhorabuena to the Observatory of the Sustainability by a report that described as valuable, said that with the contribution of this singular Observatory "we will have the capacity at the same time to watch the multiple economic, social and environmental facets of the development in Spain, to approach us of more accurate form the reality and from his more precise knowledge to be able to undertake its improvements in the necessary thing". He described as forced and opportune the change towards the sustainability and indicated that "we are forced to look for technological solutions outposts by means of the energies of renewable character" remembering that in this field of the outer dimension of the renewable energies Spain presents/displays so good behavior that begins to be recognized like country leader world-wide level. KIOTO PROTOCOL. In addition, the strong involution of the sector of the renewable energies, affirmed, contributes to reach a double objective, that is the one to improve the Spanish situation facing the fulfillment of the Protocol of Kioto and to adjust the outer balance of the country. It emphasized, also, like showy conclusion of the report, the fact that present Spain deficiencies in the matter of society of the knowledge and remembered that the knowledge and the innovation are the motors of the sustainable growth. It is important, it indicated Don Felipe, because the task of the Observatory of Sustainability of Spain allows to open a debate so that the society becomes aware from the spread of the problem and it also talked about another "great and peculiar challenge" that raises the report, as he is the one of the degradation of the territory "with increasing risk for our natural patrimony and our biodiversity". In any case, the Prince aimed that there are "important signals of hope" because the report shows the margins available to act and declared that the report invites to reflect and to ask to us on the best form to explore and to advance in so important land for the future of the Spaniards. For that reason, "our scientific and technological economic effort must be enabled to apply creative and sustainable solutions that allow to maintain and to extend the well-being level doing it compatible with a use responsible for our resources and with a always careful respect of our natural surroundings". This report on the situation and perspective of progress in the matter of sustainability will produce it annually recently created Observatory of the Sustainability in Spain (IT DARES), with seat in the University of Alcala, that initiated its activities in February of 2005, like result of an agreement between the Ministry of Medio.ambiente, the General Foundation of the University of Alcala and the Foundation Biodiversity, informs the Ministry. INTEGRAL VISION And RIGOR.

On the other hand, minister of Medio.ambiente, Cristina Narbona, had gratefulness words to which they have made possible that this report appeared today, that supposes "an integral" vision and that must serve the Government and to the citizens to acquire and to assume a social and collective scope it jeopardize with the medio.ambiente. She said that this new organ "has all the rigor to give the best one of the diagnoses and to contribute the suitable therapy", and in addition is an Observatory "without limits to say the truth" when working like an independent organism. The minister, who made reference to the European constitutional process, and showed her confidence in the integration process considering that are signals for the hope, in spite of the difficult context, for the UE and Spain, thanked for to the Prince her presence in the act because she supposes "the commitment of the Real House" with the sustainable development. NOT TO WASTE RESOURCES.

The regional president, Jose Maria Barreda, remembered before minister and Pri'ncipe, the water problems of Castile-The Spot, aiming that there is to deliver an attack not to waste the limited resources, mainly the water, in one season of drought in which "still we are more sensible". Barreda indicated that the water shortage cannot limit the progress and demographic development that is being "spectacular" in zones of the region like the Runner of the Henares in Guadalajara and the toledana Sagra, and remembered that for the first time the Government of Spain and the Ministry have begun to consider the necessities of Castile-The Spot from the point of view of the national hidrológica planning. Also, it described as success the election of the Palace Ducal de Pastrana -- rehabilitated by the University of Alcala de Henares -- to locate the Observatory of Spain, emphasizing the good news that supposes the recovery of the Historical Patrimony of Castile-The Spot. NEW ETHICS OF RESPONSIBILITY.

The person in charge of the Observatory, Domingo Jiménez, alluded to the areas of intervention of the study, and remembered that this one supposes a challenge for the Spanish territory, where between 1990 and 2000 has been an increase of the urbanized areas of the 26 percent, a 25 percent of everything what she had urbanized myself in previous centuries.

On the other hand, the director of the University of Alcala, Virgilio Zapatero, emphasized the paper of the Ducal Palace to become "motor" of Castile-The Spot from the point of view of the environmental investigation, and requested a new ethics of responsibility to avoid risks that put in danger the conditions of indefinite continuity of the Earth man.

The act also they attended the mayor of Pastrana, Juan Pablo Sanchez; the president of the provincial Delegation, Jose Carlos Moratilla; the advisor of Medio.ambiente, Rosary Arevalo, and the mayor of Guadalajara, Jesus Alique.

Before leaving Pastrana, the Prince broke the protocol and he approached the numerous public who waited for it to the doors of the Palace of Ducal to the shouts of "Felipe, Felipe".

He appeared alone at many engagements way before he met Letizia, so what's the big deal if he appears alone now and then even though he's married? He and Letizia are married, he's not joined at the hip with her.

LOL, this is true! Let the woman rest a little and enjoy the little life that is growing inside of her!

(Now to take it down to a hormonal level ... ;) )

I noticed in the pictures Elsa posted and then was confirmed by the ones pdas1201 posted that Felipe looks really really good in this shade of light blue! Something about it makes him seem younger, more boyish, more playful ... and more good looking!

Its a pitty Princess Letizia was not here for this event as it was less formal than what they usually do, but it must be very very warm sitting outside like that. Felipe looks great:D

Is it certain, that he is going to attend it alone, without Letizia?

LaChiva Madrilena seems that Letizia finally will not go, I imagine that she continues avoiding the trips in helicopter that seems that they do not feel anything well to her, is due to be annoying and now with the heat of the summer she cannot be of a site for another one.

I don't blame her for avoiding helicopter rides -- they are bumpy, not too cushioned or comfortable rides. I don't know if she is experiencing a lot of morning sickness or a general upset of that nature (my mom was nauseous her entire pregnancy with me, not just through the first trimester), but I can easily imagine how any helicopter ride, no matter how short the distance might aggravate Letizia more. Helicopter trips are not for the faint of heart as I have been learning a lot lately! ;)
