The Prince, next to the Princess, closed the Strategic Forum of Banks (Cajas de Ahorros), which gathers in Madrid 1300 executives and directors of all Spanish banks.

Don Felipe valued the banks’ (Cajas de Ahorros) high volume of investments in such important sectors as culture, environment, education, investigation, protection of the historical-artistic patrimony, social insurance and health, among others sectors, which allow the improvement of the Spanish society well-being.

The winners of the Prize are the Spanish Arturo Bris and the Greek Christos Cabolis, professors of the University of Yale, for their work entitled The value of the protection to the investor: evidence based on international fusions.

Well of course she would gain some weight! She has a life growing inside of her! I have never met anyone who was pregnant and didn't gain weight!

The Princes of Asturias will preside over the delivery of the national flag to the Civil Guard’s Unit of Rural Action (UAR), which will take place in Logroño, next June 15th, on the occasion of the XXV anniversary of this meritorious group.

Doña Letizia will pronounce her first speech as Princess of Asturias, next Wednesday June 15th, in Logroño, during the commemoration of the XXV Anniversary of the Civil Guard’s Unit of Rural Action (UAR).

The Princess of Asturias will thus fulfil the Royal Family’s tradition of pronouncing a speech in each delivery of the Spanish flag.

Ever since she married the Prince of Asturias, Doña Letizia pronounced some words in an official act, on the inauguration of the IX Congress of Latin American Academies of History, celebrated in Madrid, on November 4th. That was, furthermore, the first solo act of the Princess, as Don Felipe had then to travel to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to attend the funeral of sheik Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan.

Next Wednesday shall thus be a special occasion for us, Spanish Royal Watchers. At the delivering of the Spanish flag to the Civil Guards, the godmother always wears a black dress and mantilla. So, we'll have a 2 in 1: Princess Letizia pronouncing a speech and wearing a black mantilla!... And I must say she looked adorable, the last time she wore mantilla:

It seems that finally Letizia will not go to the act with the President Lagos in the University of Salamanca, will go only the Prince. That same day in the morning they must be in Navarre, and the truth is that it is too much travels, considering that seems that Letizia by her pregnancy does not take the trips in helicopter very well (the noise, the movement)

Yay for the belly! I think it's so cute. In a few months CP Letizia will be allllll baby and it'll look funny because she's such a tiny person herself.

The Princes of Asturias presided today over the prize-giving ceremony of the award F. de Araoz to the Spanish Arturo Bris and the Greek Christos Cabolis.

Don Felipe, who was accompanied by Doña Letizia, praised the professional and human figure of the man who names the Prizes, and remembered that sometimes they spoke together about "Spain, our collective destiny and our companies, which our generation must take care of". Don Felipe also congratulated the winners and the promoters of the Prize, because it constitutes "an important contribution to the improvement of the financial systems in Spain and to the economic future of our society".

The ceremony finished with the conference "Finances and Investment: the Spanish situation", pronounced by the ex-minister of Economy Carlos Solchaga.
