I completely agree with you! she looks so annoyed!
 
The military acts were solemn acts, under the extrem heat too. She was seen talking and joking with the people at the reception afterwards.

the last two events have written accessory all over it - keeping in mind their busy agenda, it's unconvenient for letizia having to go all over the country in such hot weather to attend some military themed events that felipe could perfectly handle himself. there is no need for letizia to be present therefore it's only understandable that she looks bored and absent with two girls at home at the same time who are being entertained by staff and not by their mother.

i wish they would get some balance into their agenda between his, her and their events, without necessarily reducing the vast number of events what seems to be crucial to fight off people accusing them of doing nothing.

indeed, i think we come back to discussions held much earlier, when they married: letizia could be doing something else, more appropriate, rather than attending these sort of events. it's obviously not her thing. why doesn't she visit a foundation related with her interests while felipe is away? i'm sure there's lots of foundations and organizations needing support.

she's just using her phone while she's walking not during the ceremony. There's nothing wrong with that. She may just have a sms from the nannies or she texts nannies to know how the girls are.

still! whatever the reason, i think that's rude. do we see the queen checking her phone in her events, whether arriving, leaving, walking? even if the ceremony is not taking place, you are still there to pay attention to what's going on. checking your phone is definitely not polite. that's something which could easily be done when she is in her private car arranged to bring her and take her out of the event.

in 5 years know we have never seen them spend some days of vacation abraod like mary and fred any one now the reasons

letizia and felipe are much more private in terms of vacationing. not only the spanish family has an official summer destination, palma, but also i believe they much rather keep a low profile during holidays. they have visited italy and the US just before getting married (although with none or few pictures) and were out visiting letizia's family in asturias during a number of ocassions. they have also been holidaying in a number of spanish places as well. i guess they just want to keep private and enjoy some time without press. besides, extravagant holidays like those of frederik and mary in luxury yatchs or high-end vacations in st tropez will not be something the spaniards would really like.

She could be turning off her ringing phone. Sure, she should turn it off before stepping out of the car, but sometimes people forget about things. Actually having a lady-in-waiting is not a bad thing, she can take care of all those little things so that she doesn't need to carrry a purse or a phone herself.

Very true. There are many places (without the celebrity crowds) they can go without being photographed.
 
The Queen usually attended those military graduations too. The king with his military background always treasures his good connection with the military and this tradition will continue with his heir. The ceremonies outdoor were indeed very hot and uncomfortable the last 2 days, I remember previous years people fainted during those ceremonies. But the ceremony is only one part of the act, a big reception afterwards is another part to build good connections.
 
LOVE seeing them together in little "private" moments-they seem even more in love now than they did when they were first married. I'm sure she's looking forward to the summer vacation and a chance for the family to be together in a relaxed way.:flowers:

How refreshing to see these two still hard aat work when others are on holiday.

I don't envy either of them having to attend outdoor events in such gruelling temperatures.

These two will be on holiday in August, though. Isn't that when the SRF take their vacation? Maybe those that are on holiday now will be hard at work then.:flowers:

Oh yeah...They are royals, they can't spend a vacation time at home...like sometimes we (current people) do.
