I've always heard that the first and last trimester are the most dangerous to fly. And that the 1st trimester is the one where the woman has to be more careful.

She is also a specialist on the monarqui in spain. She is very Good and respected journalist in spain. Now yesterday she was on the program with ana rosa, and she gave all the details about prince felipe and princess letizia. So her i'm going to translate the article, and i put the link also from her on video.I'm very glad that finaly the spanish people will hear about the Real family off spain, from the mouth off some one else. Not only the maniac peñafiel.( Sorry my bath inglish jajaja)

Mª Angels Palace explains that the Prícipes de Asturias needs a period for adaptation before they have a baby.

There have been many rumors surroundings to the subject of the descendants. To Letizia Ortiz it ' is had pregnant several times and, even, a fertility treatment has been attributed to her. Mariángel comments that by sources very near and trustworthy to the Princes she knows that the one of the fertility treatment is false. She says 'they are rumors of people who do not know what they are talking about.

Mª Angels explains that the Princes ' requested a period of time to adapt and to take the measures to their worked before becoming parents. After this information she aims at that granted time is arriving at its end.

In addition to the exposed thing, also the possibility that is shuffled the Princes were hoping to that the Constitution is modified in case their first-born was a girl. Soon a member more in the Royal Family on the part of Infant Cristina, but do not impatient that already it is left less so that the Princes contribute to the increase of the family.

Thank you very much indeed for the article, Lapopdiva! There are some very good arguments pointed out by María Ángels Palace. :)

I absolutely agree on that point. No other member of the Spanish Royal House has given birth to a chlid before a year and a half of marriage... And that period of adaptation is even more crucial in the case of Letizia, who needed not only to learn the job, but also to prove her working ethic and her commitment to the Nation. Now all Spaniards know already how much this couple work, and it was absolutely necessary to prove it, before getting into maternity. If she got pregnant immediately after marriage, she would certainly have to rest a lot and then stay with the child for a couple of months. Well, in a country where Monarchy is not sufficiently strong enough and there are many republicans criticising the Royal Family for dissipating the public income, they need to prove everyday they actually play an important role out there. Letizia needed time to prove it... Now, perhaps the Spanish people already know her commitment a bit more, so that she can slow down for a while...

Those who accompain Spanish politics know this is a very, very delicate issue and I would not be surprised if this actually crosses their mind, when planing their first pregnancy...

My English is not better than yours, dear Lapopdiva... and I can clearly see you are making very nice progresses... ;)

I know that whatever your views there are always at least a small audience or sector of a society that agrees with you. Jamie obviously has his audience who share his views
Penafiel used to be an investigating journalist (he worked in Europa Press and also as a reporter of war), but that was before he moved into royalty. So he might have had credibility in the past as a journalist, but not presently at least not in my books…

Was he the one who also broke the news of Felipe and Letizia's relationship?
Yes, he was the first one to said Felipe was going to marry a 27-year-old journalist. He may have got some things right, but if you keep throwing rocks at a house, eventually you'll hit a window… and according to Penafiel, Felipe would probably have been married 6 or 7 times already. Just a few months before the announcement, he said that Felipe was going to marry an aristocratic girl, Diana Martinez-Bordiu, just based on a gossip according to which Felipe and Diana were seeing each other... After planting these rumours, Felipe publicly denied having any relationship with Diana, making Penafiel look like the trash gossip he is…

What was his gripe with Sofia?
Jaime Penafiel has issues with everybody: the King, the Queen, the Infantas and, of course, Letizia. For example, he insiststhat Iñaki was a star athlete in "just a second-rate sport" and not an appropriate choice to Infanta Cristina (nevertheless, the Spaniards are very fond of Iñaki and the family he formed with Cristina). He had also some big fall with Queen Sofia, involving his daughter's death and, after that incident, he planted some polemics… As far as I can remember, he criticised the Queen for not attending bull-fights. He said if Sofia was such a great professional, she would accompany Juan Carlos to la Fiesta Nacional

Thanks for the information Elsa. Penafiel seems like quite a nasty piece of work; very disgruntled and bitter with the entire royal family. How could anyone not like Sofia?

The Princes attended last night the concert Visions del Quixot, which officially inaugurates the Commemorations for the IV Centenary of the Cervantes' novel. The concert took place in Auditorium of Barcelona and included works of Puértolas, Telemann, Ravel and Manuel de Falla.

Princes de Asturias show their love in a concert in Barcelona

Noticia publicada a las 11:08
jueves, 27 de enero de aaaa

Don Felipe de Borbón and Doña Letizia Ortiz presided over the concert yesterday "Visions of the Quijote", with which Barcelona inaugurated the Year of The book and the Reading and that in this the 400 edition celebrates anniversary of the universal work of Miguel de Cervantes. Princes de Asturias arrived at the Audience of the Condal City accompanied by their mayor, Joan Clos, and of the consellera of Culture, Caterina Mieras, next to those who they seated in silverplates to enjoy the concert. Doña Letizia, who chose for the occasion a suit of jacket in white color and a scarf in the same tone, received a branch of flowers to the arrival of the concert. Sitting next to Don Felipe, commented with him some aspects of the concert while, in an affectionate gesture, she took tenderly his hands to call his attention. When leaving the Audience, the Princes were accompanied by Joan Clos and Caterina Mieras again, that approached with them until the car that waited for them, moment to which the future Kings of Spain said goodbye one by one of all the present authorities.

Thanks for all the photos and links and videos!

There are a few interesting events coming up, and I also read about some trips later in the year, so I thought I'd share.

*As I believe Elsa wrote, on Monday they attend with the King and Queen a lunch and a gala dinner with the President of Hungary and his wife.
*On Thursday they host the President of Hungary at a monestary in the province of Lleida where the remains of one of the Queens of Aragon are buried--she was a Hungarian princess--they will make an offering to her and attend a concert in the church under the charge of the great Jordi Saval, as well as tour the cistercine monestary.
*On Feb 8 they go to Sevilla for events related to the 500 anniversary of the University of Sevilla
*The week of Feb 7 the President of Columbia will be in Spain--I imagine some lunch or gala will be offered.
*I mentioned before that they go to Brazil the 22nd and the 23rd.
*The new President of Uruguay is inaugurated on March 1, I should imagine they will attend as is customary.

Later in the year we can expect to see them in Stockholm, Pragua and Sofia to inaugurate new branches of the Instituto Cervantes. Likewise, they are supposed to go to the Expo in Japan.

Die Leiden der jungen Letizia
Spanien wartet gespannt auf einen Thronfolger - und die Prinzessin wirkt immer zerbrechlicher
I stumbled over this article ...

It is titled, "The Woes of the young Letizia
Spain is enthralled in the awaiting of an Heir, and the Princess comes across as ever more delicate"

Any truth to this rumour ... or is it more poop from the German rumour-mill?

Well, if it is true we have to wait 3 month. The roals never anounce before. But Probably we gona notice some bump in Letizia, because she is so skin....WElll, we have to wait and hope that is true. MY neigboer conthry can not wait for a heir.

Letizia´s recent evening gowns have been a disappointment.

I personally I haven't found them disappointing at all. I have found her choices to be appropriate and classy. It seems to be she is dressing for the part, not trying to make a fashion statement.

I find her evening gowns much more spectacular, especially this last one, than her everyday, official events clothing. Its always the same thing: pant suit, blouse, high heels, and hair down. Boring.
