Inauguración of the remodeling of the facilities of the historical archive of the Official Cámara of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Barcelona

On the part of Their Royal Highness the Princes of Asturias
After their arrival, Their Royal Heighness the Princes of Asturias were received by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, Miquel Valls, and the Secretary of State of Tourism and Commerce, Pedro Mejía. In the entrance lobby, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia were greeted by the vice-presidents of the Cámara, Jose Manuel Basáñez, Josep González and Ángel Simón, and, after acceding to the Salón Dorado the first plant, by the rest of advisors of the Cámara, Maria Àngels Agulló, Maria Teresa Bassons, Josep Cercós, Joan Gaspart, Enrique Lacalle, Genís Marfà, Josep Morell, Enric Reyna, Xavier Carbonell, and Maria Dolors Colomer.
It next gave to beginning in the Salón Lucrecia a meeting work with the Council of the Camera, that had the following Daily routine:
- Words of welcome of the president.
- Situation of the Tourism in Barcelona, by Joan Gaspart.
- Situation and projects of the Fira of Barcelona, by Enrique Lacalle.
- Situation of the living, by Enric Reyna.
- Aspects connected with the port and airport of Barcelona, by Genís Marfà.
Once finished the meeting, Their Royal Heighness were transferred to the Archive of the Cámara, where they were greated by the mayor of Barcelona, Jordi Hereu, the advisor of Economy, Property, Tourism and Commerce of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Antoni Castells, and the ex- president of the Cámara, Antonio Negre, and already in the interior, by the person in charge of the Archive, Maria Pont, and the director of the Historical Archive, Xavier Cortés.
Next, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia initiated their route by the facilities and visited a commemorative exhibition, that includes, among other pieces, countable documents of the Amat family and the Consulate of Cadiz of XVIII century, the first book of acts of the Cámara from year 1886, old photographies, documents of the Commission of Industrial and Mercantile Incorporation nº 2, exemplary ones of the “Llibre of the Consolat of Sea”, Ship's log of the frigate “San Francisco de Paula”, Real Certificates of Carlos III and Fernando VII, the Atlas of Abraham Ortelius of 1588, and the “Portulano” of Andrew Welsh, between other pieces. To their conclusion, the Princes were flattered by the president of the Camera with a facsimile of the “Royal Certificates of the Three Bodies of Commerce”.
Their Royal Heighness were transferred next to the Salón de Contrataciones, where they conversed during minutes with the assistants, with which the act finalized, being dismissed by the present authorities.
