I was just thinking...

Do you remember how one of the reasons that Felipe and Letizia chose to marry so close to Mary and Frederik was that they didn't want to steal any limelight from the spanish soccer teams success in the Euro 2004? (so they chose to steal it from Mary and Frederik instead, but that's another story...)

Well, considering how Spain has been doing in the Euro 2004, maybe Felipe and Letizia should have gotten married in June instead... And maybe people wouldn't have noticed the Spanish team... LOL

I suppose it´s a good thing they didn´t get married closer to the Olympics then either.

Felipe and Letizia have a busy few days ahead. Today Felipe and Letizia attended the funeral of one of Felipe's friends from the military academy. Love the look on the face of the military guard behind them.

Tomorrow they may be in Asturias for some family event; Sunday in Madrid Felipe lights the olympic tourch on its travel through Madrid enroute to Athens; Monday they are seen by the Pope in Rome; Wednesday the are at an awards ceremony in Navara...

Good thing they had a long honeymoon, although yesterday Felipe was very cute with the reporters and said, while smiling, it felt like a very short trip. And they remain mum about where they actually were!

The military man died at a very young age of 41 because of cancer, left behind his wife and two children, quite sad. This was the same military man who was celebrating his last birthday back in March with the attendance of Felipe and Letizia.
Felipe looks like he is in great shape, ready to run the last 400 meters of olympic tourch in Madrid next Sunday.

Spanish press says that he almost about 10kg and recovered his old phisical form (last summer they started to say that Felipe was a little fat :P).

Hola's internet site has an article claiming they figured out the honeymoon destinations--although they have no pictures to prove it. Not as all over the place as we'd been led to believe, but an awesome trip if true. Apparently after leaving Jordan they went to a small island in Thailand for a few days and then spent a number of days visiting some of the great temples in Thailand, Burma and Cambodia. They then went to the Fiji island of Waikiki for a week, which has only one hotel and allows for no more than 18 guests at a time. The Prince and Princess are reported to have said they had "el viaje de nuestros sueños." (Our dream trip.)

Spain's Prince Felipe laughs with Princess Letizia after he lit a cauldron with the torch during a lighting ceremony for a symbolic Olympic flame at Madrid's Puerta de Alcala Sunday June 27, 2004. The games are scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece, during August 2004.

Prince Felipe lights Olympic cauldron
By MAR ROMAN

MADRID (AP) - Crown Prince Felipe completed the torch relay through the streets of Madrid on Sunday by lighting an Olympic cauldron in one of the capital's most symbolic squares.

The mayor of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz Gallardon passed the flame to Prince Felipe, who was part of the Spanish Olympic sailing team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Hundreds of people waited at the Puerta de Alcala to catch a glimpse of the lighting and cheer the 30 athletes, sports celebrities and ordinary people who carried the torch in a festive atmosphere.

The torch made its way to Barcelona, the host city of the 1992 Summer Olympics, where torchbearers included five-time Tour de France champion Miguel Indurain and tennis players Arantxa Sanchez Vicario and Conchita Martinez.

The torch is on its way to Greece for the Aug. 13 start of the Summer Olympics.

The three-hour stop in Madrid was staged after the city asked the International Olympic Committee to be considered for the relay in order to promote its 2012 Olympic bid.

The flame - carried in a small lantern - arrived early Sunday from London. It was taken in the subway to Madrid's business and financial centre, where Spain's water polo star and former Olympic gold-medallist Manuel Estiarte carried the flame through the capital under a blistering sun with temperatures reaching 30 C.

"It has been thrilling and a real honour for me to carry the torch," Estiarte said after passing the flame to swimmer Nina Jivanevskaia, who won bronze at the 2002 Sydney Games.

The symbolic torch passed Madrid's old quarter, the main Puerta del Sol square and the city's biggest park where hundreds lined the route to watch the torch pass and to attend a free concert featuring some the country's top flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia and dancer Sara Baras.

In the last kilometres, two university students participated in memory of their deceased friends and other victims of the March 11 train bombings that killed 190 people and wounded more than 2,000 in the capital.

Here's a photo I haven't seen posted any where else. Oh! How he looks at her! He simply melts when he looks at her.

It's funny, on all these different royal boards we all like to argue about who is more or less pretty, more or less nice, etc., but it's clear for each of the crown princes, none is as beautiful and amazing as their very own princess. And in this photo we have just one more testament of that fact. This generation of crown princes has married for love and they make no bones about it.
BRAVO!!!!!!!! Very well said. Maybe you should post this in every forum but just change the names of the prince and princess.
