The king of Spain, Juan Carlos, defended that innovation must be Europe’s greatest "competitive advantage", alleging that the scientific and technological knowledge is "the biggest source of wealth" and that it has a "transcendental importance". Juan Carlos pronounced these words during the meeting of the enterprise association Cotec Europe, gathering the Portuguese President, Jorge Sampaio, and his Italian homologous, Carlo Ciampi. For Juan Carlos, Europe needs to increase its capacities "to convert knowledge into wealth", creating products and better services adapted to the realities of human beings and capable to stimulate and to strengthen the welfare of our society.

The Kings will go to Javier in the Jubilee Year of the jesuitas

Their Majestys the Kings will participate next the 7 of April in the ceremony of the Centennial V of the birth of San Francisco Javier, who will take place in the santurario of Javier in Navarre. Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía will participate in the solemn commemoration of the centenary, to which also they will go a cardinal designated specially by Benedicto XVI; the archbishop of Pamplona, Fernando Sebastián; and the general of the Company of Jesus, Peter Hans Kolvenbach. This act will be the main one of a series of activities organized in the occasion of the Jubilee Year of the Company of Jesus. The news takes place the same day in which the arrival of the main relic of santo has announced, patrono of the missions, to our country. The right arm of San Francisco Javier will arrive at Spain the 3 from March, and will remain in the sanctuary until the 20 of April.

Table of Congress decided this week that Kings inaugurate of form official next 1 of June new extension of House of Representatives, that incorporates the old buildings of the banks Outer of Spain and Local Cre'dito (integrated in Argentaria) that Patrimony acquired, informed to Europe Press in parliamentary sources.

Their Majesties inaugurated yesterday the headquarters of the National Centre for Cardiovascular Investigations (CNIC), which counts on 23000 square meters and will be able to lodge 300 scientists, as well as other groups of investigation that need to use their technological equipment. Doña Sofía defined it as "wonderful", not only for managing a symbiosis between the public and the private investment, but also for being able to serve as a quarry for the Spanish investigators.

Prince Aga Khan will be tomorrow in Toledo to gather the prize of the Real Foundation

The Aga Khan, leader of the nazaríes ismaelitas Muslims, will be the one in charge to pronounce the speech in representation of all the awarded ones.

One hopes that the Aga Khan arrives at accompanied Toledo, between safety measure forts, by His Majesty the King, who will preside over east year the awards that will be given in the Theater of Red. The Spanish royal couple will start their state visit to Norway on June 6th, they will stay in Oslo untill the 7th and then the whole party goes to Bergen on the westcoast for the 8th of June, where the Royal Yacht Norge will be anchored. It will be the return visit of King Harald and Queen Sonjas visit 11 years ago.

According to Se og Hør today they have it from several sources that the Court in Madrid has not wanted to do the visit for many years because they thought that Eva Sannums relation to Felipe would overshadow the visit, but now that Felipe is married, the visit will finally take place (oh well...just reporting what it said, looking forward to the visit anyhow and they are comming at the most beautiful time of the year as well)
