Her Majesty the Queen has presided over the concert of Christmas organized by the Enterprise Confederation of Madrid (CEIM) to World benefit in Harmony. To her arrival to the National Audience, Doña Sofía, who were accompanied by her sister, Her Height Real Princess Irene, was received by the minister of Culture, Bald Carmen, the delegate of the Government in Madrid, Constantino Méndez, the president of the CEIM, Gerald Diaz Ferrán, and the World vice-president first in Harmony, Francisco Fochs. In the first part, the Escolanía of the Real Monastery of San Lorenzo of the Dump, under the direction of Gustavo Sanchez and with Javier Martinez Cards like pianista, interpreted the following pieces: "beautiful doncella" (Anonymous), "In Bethlehem is" (Anonymous), "To Bethlehem shepherds" (Mendelssohn), "mutil Ator" (Guridi), "Fuentecilla" (Popular of Andalusia), "pasito Silence" (Pompey) and "Jumps and dances" (Popular). In the second part, the Orchestra of Extremadura, under the direction of Jesus Friend, offered the Symphony nº 4 in the greater one, opus 90(Italiana) of Mendelssohn. The Orchestra and the Escolanía, like colofón to the concert, interpreted as you encore "White Christmas" (Berlin) and "Adeste Fideles" (Redding). The queen dona Sofía posed with the children of the Escolanía of the RoyalMonastery of The St Lorenzo of El Escorial in the interval of the concert of Christmas organized by the Managerial Federation of Madrid, to benefit of the ONG ' World in Harmony '. Queen Sofia and the president of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, today signed in the Palace of the Zarzuela an agreement in those terms, so that the center, pioneer in Spain, can be inaugurated the 21 of September of the 2006, agreeing with the World-wide Day of the Alzheimer.
The complex, that occupies a parcel of 18,500 square meters yielded by the City council of Madrid in Ensanche de Vallecas, will consist of a residence in boarding school regime, with nine units of coexistence with capacity for 156 patients. Also it will have a by day ambulatory center to other 40 patients, another one of investigation on the disease, that it tries to become a referring one, and third to the sanitary formation of personnel, relatives of patients and volunteers.
Doña Sofía and president Aguirre, who went to the Zarzuela accompanied by the advisor of Family and Social Subjects of the Community, Beatriz Elorriaga, contemplated the scale model of the center before coming to the company/signature of the agreement.
In December of the 2002, the Kings presented/displayed this project impelled by Corona and whose cost surpasses the 18 million euros.
