I wonder if they will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary next May.
The engagement took place 50 years ago in Switzerland. Famously JC threw a box to Sofia, containing the ring, with the words "Sofi, catch"

Thanks Iceflower - great to see that JC is able to travel and get around on crutches after having done all recent meetings sat down in Zarzuela.

The problem Duke, is that next week the King will continue having all his acts in Zarzuela, and the prince will replace him in an act in Santander. So, I think that the House of the King and the doctors think that he is not recovered.
I think that the King is behaving as an obstinate child, and that has decided to go away of private trip to Monaco.
The problem in his Achilles' tendon, was for not resting enought after the surgery in the knee ... we will see what consequences can have this trip.

Interesting, now the king can meet prince Albert, but couldn´t be able to attend the wedding or sending someone to represent ths SRF.

Indeed it is,but remember the Spanish Royal Family were far too busy to attend The recent Princely Wedding
