Some people seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of "IT" factor. You don't "encourage" or coach someone into having the "IT" factor. You can't. It's an innate quality.

And NO one here says other kids without the "IT" factor is "worth less" or "less intelligent". "IT" factor usually decides who becomes a star and who doesn't. It has nothing to do with "worth" or "intelligence". You can be a shy genius who wins the Nobel prize without the "IT" factor.

I have to disagree with you on Leonor's behavior at earlier days. She's different from other kids from the start. She's not just calm, she almost never cried. She's never afraid of strangers who were shouting her name or snapping her pictures. She never hid her face in her parents' arms as a lot of other kids do. She also never showed irritation with all the commotion like some kids do (a couple kids come to mind). She looked at them curiously, seeming to try to find out who these strangers were.

Now she seems to have found out all these strangers are just her "adoring public" and she could show her personality as in front of family and friends. She's an instant star from the time she ran away from her father and ran toward the photographers outside of the hospital where her mother just gave birth. She wanted to show off her new toy - the duck - to the photographers. All the photographers - and the public - melted at the spot.

Whithout to repeat your explanations because you did it very well, I should to add a detail even if I'm not a baby's behouviour specialist. In fact I had noticed that Leonor was reacting very accuratly since her first summer at Palma of Majorca. I don't know if you remenber of that but during the first times wherer she was exposed in firts line to the cameras, in her baby car, in her arm of the Queen or of her mother and in particular when she was on the boat, she was immediatly "in situation", whithout that neither the Queen nor Letizia have to reassure the baby girl.

Leonor just seems to be a friendly, outgoing child and it's encouraged by her family. I think that's lovely.

It is a way to say that she is outgoing and curious, and not shy at all!..

Why the magazine calleed Leonor 'earthquake"???

It could be a German expression of "dynamo" in English. I'm guessing here.

Do Leonor and Sofia have nannies? We don't often see them out in public, but when we do, it seems to me that they're with they parents or other relatives, with nobody else there. Do any of the kids in the SRF have nannies?

I believe they have and not only one but more since Felipe and Letizia have two children to look after and working hours between early morning and late evening or even stay away for several days. Children need one (or more) attachment figures as a trusted contact who will continue to be there for them because of their parents' odd working hours - an established routine is important. Therefore I don't believe that relatives (eg Letiza's mom) will look after them on a regular basis (but might visit regularly). When the parents are around, they will spend quality time with their kids. Those nannies are not babysitters but well educated (and probably partly live-in) nannies who are partly responsible for the upbringing of the future heiress and infanta of Spain. No job for an amateur - and I believe that's how it goes in every important royal household with small children.

Now little sofia goes fourth in the survey from bunte.

Princes of asturias daughters are stunning.
