En la imagen, Do��lena saluda a su marido, Don Jaime de Marichalar, quien se acerc��sta la calle Alcalᠰara entregar su donativo. Cada a��CᲩtas organiza esta jornada con el objetivo de recaudar fondos y acercar a los ciudadanos su labor en favor de los m᳠desfavorecidos. La cuestaci��bajo el lema "Nadie sin futuro", se harᠡ trav鳠de 513 mesas en la que participarᮠaproximadamente 5000 voluntarios.

La infanta Elena y Jaime de Marichalar dejarán de vivir de alquiler para instalarse como propietarios en el exclusivo barrio madrileño de Salamanca. Los duques de Lugo han comprado dos pisos situados en un edificio de nueva construcción al que se trasladarán tras unirlos y realizar algunas reformas, según publica esta semana la revista Tiempo. El resultado será un espacioso ático de más de 500 metros cuadrados (en la foto, la fachada).
Cada piso tiene tres dormitorios y un amplio salón, además de cocina, baños y garaje. La casa está equipada con ascensor para propietarios y otro para el servicio. Según fuentes próximas al duque de Lugo que cita la revista, Marichalar quiere instalar una piscina en el piso.
El edificio tendrá que pasar por pequeños cambios para garantizar la seguridad de los duques y sus hijos. Según el semanario, los pisos fueron adquiridos por los duques de Lugo antes de ser construido el edificio, y, por tanto, el precio de los mismos era el de entonces, y no el actual del barrio de Salamanca, que ha subido en torno a un 60%. El precio total podría rondar los tres millones de euros, según fuentes cercanas a los vendedores. Marichalar ha sido el que más ha insistido en quedarse con el ático, al estar situado en su barrio preferido, donde están las tiendas de moda más lujosas y buenos restaurantes.

Infant Elena and Jaime de Marichalar will let live on rent to settle like proprietors in the exclusive Madrilenian district of Salamanca. The Dukes of Lugo have bought two floors located in a building of new construction to which they will be transferred after uniting them and making some reforms, according to Time publishes this week the magazine. The result will be an extensive attic of more than 500 square meters (in the photo, the facade).
Each floor has three dormitories and an ample hall, in addition to kitchen, baths and garage. The house is equipped with elevator for proprietors and another one for the service. According to sources next to the Duke of Lugo that mentions the magazine, Marichalar wants to install a swimming pool in the floor.
The building will have to happen through small changes to guarantee
the security of the Dukes and its children. According to the weekly magazine, the floors were acquired by the Dukes of Lugo before being constructed
the building, and, therefore, the price of such was the one of then, and not the present one of the district of Salamanca, that it has raised around a 60%. The total price could go up to around the three million euros, according to sources near the salesmen. Marichalar has been the one that has insisted more on remaining with the attic, when being located in its preferred district, where they are the more luxurious stores fashionable and good
restaurants.

How is it going with Elena and her husband nowadays? Two years ago, or so, it was said they will have divorce. Last summer Elena was pregnant and had miscarriage. But how is it today?

Infanta Elena had a miscarriage before Froilán was born, not last Summer...
I guess the couple faced some problems after Jaime's cerebral infract, as he's said to have experienced some temperamental changes, due to the illness, but it seems the difficult times are surpassed.

Spain's Princess Elena suffers miscarriage
June 23rd, 2003

MADRID (AFD) - Spain's Princess Elena, second in line to the throne, suffered a miscarriage in the fourth month of her pregnancy, the palace said in a statement.

Her parents King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia had announced a day earlier during a visit to the northwestern region of Galicia that Elena was pregnant with her third child.

The miscarriage, 14 weeks into the pregnancy, was diagnosed during a routine medical check-up in New York, where the princess lives together with her husband Jaime de Marichalar.

Elena's state of health was satisfactory, according to the statement.
