I agree with you, Nico; I'd say that neither Madame Mère (Princess Beatrice) neither Madame Grand-Mère (Princess Alix) would agree; if I don't mistake, both them were appointed as "regent" by Prince Louis during Jean-Christophe's minority.

Oh, OK. So, is this Jean Christophe claim to be the head of the House of Bonaparte ?

Oh, who are Madame Mére and Madame Grand Mére ? I know that Napoleon I's mother Letizia Ramolino was called La Madame Mére. Does Madame Grand Mére mean something like the Princess Dowager Bonaparte or something ?

Well, I'm afraid the situation is not so clear and well-delineated, since as far as I know Jean-Christophe, unlike his father, has never openly claimed the headship of the Imperial Family but he has just been appointed by the late Prince Louis as Head of his family, and therefore he is acknowledged by many as Head of the Imperial Family.

"Mére" and "Grand-Mére" in French mean "Mother" and "Grandmother"; I used these two terms to refer to Jean Christophe's mother and grandmother, Princess Beatrice and Princess Alix respectively.
Historically "Madame Mére" was the official title of Letizia, the mother of Emperor Napoleon I.

Oh, I see. I take it that J-C's mother wants her son to be the head because she is now divorced from J-C's father and J-C's grandmother who is Charles' mother respects her late husband's will that she, too, supports J-C as the head. Is that it ?

Princess Alix Napoleon handed out the prize of the 'Second Empire-Fondation Napoléon' to author Gabriel Badea-Paun for his book 'Le style Second Empire. Architecture, décors et art de vivre' Also present were the prince of Essling and the countess Walewsky. This happened in the palace of the legion d'honeur in Paris.

I think Princess Alix Napoleon and Princess Beatrice of Bourbon-Two siclies agree with the will of the late Prince Louis Napoleon that makes
their grandson and son head of the imperial family.
Even though Prince Jean-Christophe is discrete not hardly being seen around other royal or noble circles I think he sends his time on his studies. Now his father Prince Charles Napolen is more in the open and
has been seen in a few circles and getting involuved into policits or what not two differnt people and two differnt personalities.

What a joke. There is nothing noble about the Napoleonic family, except the hubris and talent of their founder. A poverty striicken Corcican family who rose to the top by a man who forced his way against all probability. I loved him.

Russia to celebrate 200 anniversary of 1812 war: Voice of Russia
Russia intends to widely celebrate 200 years since the Russian-French war of 1812.
The main festivities will take place on the Borodino field near Moscow, the site of that war’s most decisive battle.
“We have invited many foreign guests, including a descendant of Emperor Napoleon,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov says.

I wonder whom did they invite.

Princess Alix has been the patron of the 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment since 1959. The Regiment was recently re-located and the Princess travelled to the camp of Souge Martignas - the new location of the regiment - for the first time on April 12. The Princess was greeted by the Major of Martignas and Colonel Segretain - the Commander of the 13th RDP.

Incidentally, Colonel Segretain comes from a very distinguished military family, including the famous Pierre Segretain.

Prince Charles Napoléon, who had previously been deputy mayor of Ajaccio, but is now living in Paris and wants to be it's new mayor (as far as I understand, the translation isn't great). However he has said in the newspaper Le Figaro that he supports the idea of Anne Hidalgo of becoming mayor:

The Princess Napoléon attended an event at the Hotel de Salm in Paris, France in connection with the return of the insignia of Jerome Zieseniss, the Officer of the Legion of Honour. Jerome is a specialist in Napoleonic history. Prince Michel of Bourbon-Parma and his wife Princess Maria Pia of Savoy were also present:
